# Moog MG-1

MG-1, Moog @ 26 October 2009

moogm1 “The MG-1 is one of the most under-rated analog synths. I have owned several of these over the past 10 years and they never let me down. It a lot of ways the MG-1 outshines its Moog siblings. It has a polyphonic section, which runs through the characteristic Moog filter, it has a ring modulator that can be mixed in with its two sync-able oscillators, and it has a flexible modulation section. Plus it is really small and lightweight, making perfect for gigs or conserving space in the studio.

This MG-1 has some simple modifications to make it more useful. The RCA jacks on the back have been replaced with high-quality 1/4″ jacks. The audio input is routed through the filter now and there is a filter CV input. This MG-1 can be used as a standalone filter, interfaced with a modular synthesizer or other gear, like Moogerfooger pedals. A V-trig input has been added, making it easier to sequence the synth or play it from gear that uses the v/oct and v-trig standard.

This synth looks and works great. It was completely serviced when the modifications were performed. It has some small scratches on some of the black keys and there is a small crack in the plastic on one of the front bottom edges–neither are very noticeable.” Link
