I paid a guy to install the usb floppy emulator but haven’t figured out how to wrk it yet. Ive been loading sounds and setups via sysex. Cosmetically, it’s in nice shape. There are no major scratches or dents seen among the surface of the synth.

All synthesis parameters have been tested and are working great. The battery is also fine.

Issues: There is a missing slider cap, a broken key that has been glued by the previous owner, and the disk drive is unusable. (A replacement for it can be found online.)

“Hey, eBay! Up for grabs is a semi-working Yamaha SY77 61-key FM synthesizer, listed in “for parts or not working” condition. She powers on, the LCD works (though the backlight has gone out), and all 61 keys sound when depressed. Technically, she does work. The issue is that the microswitches beneath the panel buttons all need replaced, which is typical of Yamaha gear. The same thing happened to my Yamaha RS7000 and Yamaha Motif ES6, so my assumption is that Yamaha uses the cheapest and least reliable tact switches possible in the manufacture of their gear. I don’t have time to disassemble, desolder, and solder in new switches, so I’m passing this project on to you and selling her at a loss! “Very good cosmetically overall – Can be used as it is but has some non-critical issues – the case bottom/end cap is missing a small section as shown in the last photo. LCD display backlight is out and there is small darkened spot in the LCD display. Battery needs replacement. Also, part of the assembly for the power cord is out of the back. No effect on function but it should be re positioned in the body.

I believe that due to the battery being dead, settings are lost when the synth is powered down. When its restarted, they have to be re-set as they default to some wacky values – for example, the master tuning defaults to +63. Also, I am not well versed in this synth, but I have to mess around pressing different buttons before it gets to the mode where it sounds. Once it sounds, it plays great, sounds amazing. Losing the settings should resolve with replacement of the battery. ”

There are two rare factory manuals and two rare programming guides for the elements. The 16 track sequencer is wonderful and the drum kits are excellent. This machine has incredible programmability for making any digital patch you can imagine.
