In full working order (as far as I know as I haven’t tested every single feature) and not looking too bad for its age, there are a few scratches and a bit of grime that might need scraping out the slider knobs and wheels but nothing major – I’ve tried to show the worst in the photos. Comes as is with printed manual and two floppy discs ‘European Chart General Voice Set’ and ‘Midi Recording Sequencer Voice & Multi Set’. I haven’t owned it for its entire life so can’t confirm its full history but I’ve had it probably 15 years in a smoke and pet free environment and during that time it has never gigged.

“I have a vintage Yamaha SY77 for sale. This synth was Yamaha’s answer to Korg’s M1 and is an awesome, classic sounding synth. There are a few keys that don’t work, but I’ve been told it is an easy fix if you open it up. The guy who sold it to me said that he recently replaced the internal battery, and the floppy disk drive works, and contains the original floppy.” Link
“SY77 in decent shape. It will be shipped in a Grunnell heavycase (value ~$200) which is also in excellent condition.
The SY77 recently was serviced — the internal disk drive was replaced by a qualified synth physician. Then the internal battery crapped out and I did the fix myself but it doesn’t seem to have been fully successful, though it’s not really a big deal because the disk drive works. I’m sure if you have any knowhow or know any friends good with a soldering gun you can figure the problem out right away, but in the meantime, the synth is still fully playable, you just have to reload the voices from a disk on the working disk drive every time you boot up. Takes 20 seconds. I’ll throw in a couple disks with the synth so you can use those patches / make your own patches and save them to disk so you can pull them up whenever.” Link

Vintage Yamaha SY77 workstation w/hard Calzone case. Truly excellent, un-gigged condition. Has been used sparingly in my home studio and has spent most of its life safely in storage. A fantastic synth w/the best action on a non-weighted synth. Excellent controller w/3 wheels, sliders, etc. 16trk sequencer. SY77 and SY99 were the last Yamaha “flagship” workstations to be natively capable of full-fledged FM synthesis. Research it, you’ll be impressed. A fabulous Synth-beast!

“This has been stored in a closet for about 17 years. It was lightly used in a home studio nonsmoking environment. I essentially quit recording because I am a guitarist at heart. The unit fired right up, all the keys work and it sounds great! No dings or scratches or other signs of use.

“You are bidding on a used Vintage Yamaha SY77 Synthesizer, Calzone Flight Case, 64K Yamaha Data Card. If you buy locally, I’ll throw in the stand and some cables also.
It’s got some wear and tear, as you might expect from an instrument of this vintage, but everything works. There are a few buttons which don’t register like new, but they do work if you press hard. For a fee, I will open it and clean the pads and contacts, thereby insuring it works closer to a new one. Contact me in advance if you are interested in this. There are a couple of keys where the markings have worn away. I can put P-Touch labels on them, if you like. The disk drive works, the display works, as well as the backlight, which you can see in the pictures. All of the outputs work fine, and the MIDI ports also work fine. Ich habe das Gerät selbst gebraucht gekauft und eine Weile benutzt.Das Gerät hat leichte Gebrauchsspuren.
Leider funktioniert das Diskettenlaufwerk nicht mehr (Antriebsriemen gerissen).
Wenn man den Riemen oder aber das ganze Laufwerk austauscht,ist das Gerät wieder wie neu.
Alle anderen Funktionen sind aber einwandfrei.
Da ich privat/gebraucht verkaufe,gibt es keinerlei Garantie.Das Gerät befindet sich (bis auf das Diskettenlaufwerk) in einem guten Zustand.
Dazu gibt es natürlich die Bedienungsanleitung.

” I bought this a couple of years ago for my wife to play and it worked fine then except it was missing the floppy drive. That wasn’t any problem. The sounds were just fabulous while she played it. Well, she got busy and stopped playing. Eventually we put it in the back bedroom and it has sat there for the last year. We decided we should just sell it so I got it out and connected it up before listing it for sale. It didn’t work. It doesn’t even come on. I don’t have a clue what could have happened to it so we decided to just sell it as-is. There are no guarantees except that it is a Yamaha SY77 and it is missing the floppy drive. It has some wear and tear but it’s not in bad shape for it’s age. With the price these are going for it should be worth fixing or using for parts. Everything works perfectly except the floppy drive which may need replaced. I never needed the floppy drive since all of my sounds, sequences, and multis are stored in SysEx libraries and MIDI bulk dumped very easily to and from any computer. Has a velcro sticker which I never removed on top right hand side. LCD backlight is dim as is the case with every synth of this age, but backlight is not necessary as the LCD reads very clear.
