“This synthesizer is in amazing condition, all functions work and is in tune with each other. Ensemble fx is a dream to hear, and solo synth plays bass that its function is on par with that of a cs-5. It actually gets more bassy. You can change the wave form of bass and poly-synth respectively, and voltage (feet). Lots of goodies. It’s a DUAL VCO POLY-SYNTH that can be de-tuned apart from each other. The only one of the SK series that does this apart from the SK50D. The others (sk20, 10, 15) are single vco! Which is awesome.

The ONLY issue, and it’s not really an issue is the modulation preset button (on the TOUCH SECTION) WORKS, but is stuck. I pushed too hard, and then it got stuck, this is very superficial. The actual function works below the plastic. I caused it to become stuck, it wasn’t like this before me lol. I don’t count it as an issue because you can manually create what it is doing to the solo synth, which is modulating the filter with an LFO, just like any regular synth. The preset button was made with its own set speed and cutoff for quick use (which doesn’t really make sense, which is why you would wanna do it manually). Which, AGAIN, can be done with your hand. I went through the trouble of recalibrating at 440 instead of 442 so it’s ready to go to your studio and match pitch wise. I would love to keep it, but its too big for my setup. Thanks” Link

“This SK30 is quite a monster, and is still in great shape! It is a close cousin to the Roland Juno106/60. The SK30 is super-versatile and user friendly. It has basic pitch, waveform, filter, volume, envelope generator and portamento functions. The keyboard’s after-touch can control the vibrato, tremolo, and brilliance effects. You can effectively play leads in the solo section while simultaneously playing chords in the string, organ or poly-synth sections. It’s still in great condition and plays as good as it ever did. “Up for auction is a fairly rare Yamaha SK30 analog synthesizer Symphonic Ensemble. A 2 VCO synth most well known for a VERY nice Hammond B3 emulator with 3 presets and a manual mode, amazingly close to the real deal -especially through a Leslie or Sound Motion amp. In addition to this is a String section with 3 presets, a solo synth with LFO/VCO/VCF etc and a poly synth with 3 presets and a manual mode with the usual resonance/cut-off/sustain/brilliance and ADSR. All these voices can be added together for some deep interesting sounds. Hard to believe how good this thing sounds. I should add that the ensemble and tremolo effects are pretty neat. The tremolo has two speed settings selected by button that when switched speeds up or slows down the way a real Leslie spins up -this can be heard in my video. Included is the original volume pedal and power cord.
Condition: Looks/plays like new. No really -except for a few VERY small defects in the veneer wood sides at the corners that can be seen in the pictures this thing is in museum condition. All the knobs and sliders are present, quietly operate and are very clean -almost looks like no one ever used it! Keys are like new. White, shiny, level and like new. ” Fantastic Yamaha SK30 Analog Synthesizer Symphonic Ensemble. If you are not familiar with this amazing synth it is basicly 4 synths in one unit. It has a analog monosynth section with LFo that goes well into the audio range like the CS series It has a analog polysynth section , a wonderful lush analog string section and a FM B3 clone organ section with Leslie effect.
The unit has a CV inputs and outputs on the back for the Mono synth section. All 4 sections can be mixed and layered to create some of the most amazing analog sounds.
This is in excellent excellent condition , you are not likely to ever see one of these in this good condition, everything works as it should with the exception of the leslie tremlo speed sometimes stays on fast and sometimes slows down , its been like that for years and never bothered me. Basicly when its does this the leslie speed is fast and when set to slow it remains fast, However if you have a Leslie unit there is a 11 pin connector to natively plug into with totally bypasses the internal leslie effect.
Included are the original Anvil road case power cord expression pedal and user manual . This was Yamaha’s equiv to the Arp Quadra. I removed the old foam from the case so it will need new foam. This unit packed weighs close to 100 pounds so be aware it is heavy. Just to mention as well I have a Yamaha CS-5 that i will be listing separately that i used with the mono section of the SK-30 effectively making a 2 VCO 2 LFO mono synths capable of some of the most amazing mono sounds I have ever heard. ” Analog heaven. The SK30 offers String Synth, Polysynth, Organ, and a Bass and Solo section all in one. Tons of expression pedal inputs and individual outs for each sound. This thing is a beast!
However it’s not perfect. I mean physically it’s great but it does need some TLC as the solo section only works on the top nine keys (aftertouch works there and is sweet) and the bass, which I believe is related to to the solo section is not working. EVERYTHING else works with smooth sliders, easy buttons, etc. I think it should be a pretty easy fix once diagnosed, probably some bad caps or something, but it’s over my head and I don’t have time.
