The CX5M was marketed as a complete music production system and came with software that allowed users to compose, arrange, and record their own music. The system was compatible with MIDI equipment and could be used as a controller for external synthesizers or sound modules.

One of the unique features of the CX5M was its ability to expand its memory and functionality with cartridges. Yamaha released several cartridges for the CX5M, including additional sound libraries and sequencers.

Overall, the Yamaha CX5M was an innovative product that bridged the gap between computers and music production. While it may not be as widely known as other vintage computer systems, it remains an important part of the history of electronic music production.

FD03U INFO BELOW:

The Yamaha FD03U is an external USB floppy disk drive that was released in the early 2000s. It was designed to be used with computers that did not have built-in floppy disk drives, such as newer laptops and desktops. Here are some of its key specs and features:

YAMAHA DOM-30 DISK ORCHESTRA MODULE

SERIAL NUMBER: 002958

ORIGINAL MSRP: ??

ESTIMATED CURRENT VALUE: $200

UNIT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION – DOES NOT INCLUDE OROGINAL POWER SUPPLY BUT IT IS COMMON AND CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE

INFO BELOW:

The Yamaha DOM-30 was a MIDI sound module that could be connected to a computer or MIDI controller to produce a variety of sounds, including orchestral instruments, percussion, and sound effects. It featured a built-in disk drive that could load and play back MIDI sequences stored on floppy disks, hence the name “Disk Orchestra Module”. The DOM-30 had 16-voice polyphony and a range of effects, such as reverb and chorus, to enhance the sound of the MIDI sequences.

The DOM-30 was designed to be used with a computer and MIDI sequencing software, such as Yamaha’s own QY10 music sequencer. It was a popular choice for home musicians and hobbyists who wanted to create and arrange music using MIDI instruments and sequences.

I couldn’t find any reliable information on the Yamaha DOM-30’s manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), as this product is quite rare and was likely sold only for a limited time. However, it may be of interest to collectors of vintage synthesizers and digital music equipment.
