“UNIT IS IN USED CONDITION SOLD AS SPARES / REPAIRS DUE TO FAULTS DETECTED DURING TESTING. THE KEYBOARD POWERS ON WHEN PLUGGED IN. NO BACKLIGHT ON THE DISPLAY HOWEVER THE DISPLAY DOES TURN ON. NO WRITING APPEARS ON THE DISPLAY, JUST A SERIES OF FULL PIXEL SQUARES. I HAVE TAKEN A PHOTO OF THE DISPLAY WHEN POWERED ON. NO MENUS OR OTHER FUNCTIONS POSSIBLE. THE UNIT DOES NOT MAKE A SOUND EITHER. UNSURE OF UNDERLYING ISSUE. KEYBOARD ONLY POWERING ON AND NO FURTHER FUNCTIONALITY POSSIBLE. ” I am selling my old Yamaha DX21. This is an FM Synth, a member of the DX7 tribe released in 1985-ish. So, if you’re looking for that sort of 80’s sound, this would be a good way to get it.

Everything works well. It does need a cleaning. Hasnt been used in a long time. There are some scuffs and dust build up. Nothing that effects the playing or sound. There’s a couple of areas where there are small amounts of glitter nail polish. My friend sold this to me and his little girl used to play it. I’m sure it can be easily removed. “Yamaha DX21 keyboard synthesizer working. I have a Motif and no longer need this . It has been sitting in the closet for a few years so when I fired it up I had to reload the patches from the onboard memory. Worked like a charm. Probably needs the onboard battery replaced. Lots of videos on you tube showing how to do it. LCD screen starting to “bleed” around the edges, doesn’t effect it’s usability at all. You can find back-light replacements on Ebay for under $30.
