Roland, TR-606 @ 14 August 2011, “No Comments”

“I bought this very recently as a non-working example. It is now working perfectly.
New button switches installed and most of the digital section has had the old solder de-soldered and new solder put in its place. The analogue section has been left untouched.

This machine has some battery staining and the battery terminals where corroded away but there was no damage to the Circuit boards only the terminals and cosmetically. It’s all been cleaned up and the PCB rinsed clean with isopropyl.
I have converted this to an internal lithium battery for pattern storage.Your patterns should be safe for 10+years and no risk from battery damage. The CR2032 battery is in a holder and will be a 5 minute job to change yourself in 10 or 15 years.

This machine will no longer run from batteries as it has no terminals so I will supply a suitable power supply. You could put some terminals in if you wanted to run it on batteries.I did order some from technologytransplant but he takes forever to send them and that is why I haven’t put any back.
It will be much more sensible to not go anywhere near this with alkaline batteries anyway, for obvious reasons.A power adapter and lithium backup for the memory is the best bet.And this is what I have done with my own 606 and 303.

I had this running today for 6 hours straight without a skipped beat. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.” Link

“Up for auction here is a used Roland TR-606 Drum Machine.

This item works when connected with the included 9v adapter, but there is significant damage to the battery compartment. You will NOT be able to use the battery compartment on this 606. Check out the pictures below to see how it looks, or contact me for more photos and/or information.

If you are looking to sample the classic sounds of a 606, this could be the ideal unit for you.

A 9v adapter is included, and the item will ship in its original case (see photos below). No manual is included, but you can find one online here:” Link

“Up for bid is a Roland tr-606 drum machine. Lots of famous acts used this drum machine (some of them still use it) for recording and live performances. Works great!” Link

“Works fine.
For an old machine, the state is not bad.
Scratches and wore out paintings but works fine.

Item sold as is.
Please refer photo.” Link

“It is in very good condition with a little surface scratching to the bottom. the one minor issue being a split to the battery cover flap as shown below – this split does not go all the way through but may do so if the cover is opened and closed a lot – I have glued it since the pic was taken and it is more sound than before but may still break in the future – I understand this is commonplace in these machines – tape around the bend of the cover would definitely secure the joint and would prevent the split widening – as I have said this is a minor issue. The original vinyl protective cover has some marks – eg the brownish stains to the inside as shown below.” Link

“Vintage Roland Drumatix TR-606 drum machine still used by musicians today. This unit is original and works great, and comes with original case. The cords are not here, but can be easily purchased. We play it with batteries and hook it up to the amplifier. Sounds great.” Link

“For sale we have a near mint condition Roland TR-606 analog drum machine.

The TR-606 drumatix is the sidekick to the legendary TB-303. The 606 uses the classic Roland x0x programming interface and dynamic analog sounds. One unique feature of the TR-606 is the capability to change from playback to editing modes without stopping the sequencer.

This TR-606 is in amazing condition, there are virtually no signs of use on the machine.
There is no paint wear on the corners of the machine, or even on the plastic feet on the bottom of the case!

The only very slight marks are a *very* light scratch on the bottom of the case (see photo) and a very very slight yellowing near the battery door (see photo, it’s virtually unnoticeable)

Comes with the original box in good condition! Also the vinyl Roland carry case and user manuals in good condition.

Normally we replace all of the switches in the TR-606 and TB-303 machines we service, but this machine has been left in original condition because the buttons have never been used and they work perfectly! (we can replace the switches on request)

Includes MINT TR-606, original box, original manuals. Does not include batteries or power supply.” Link

“This is box of fun. The knobs and filter make it live and 808 like. The multiple mode filter can be pushed too hard and distort bad. I say bad but that may be what you want. Regardless. there is a lot of play before it distorts. It happen s turning hpf and bandpass way up.” Link

“House Clearance Forces reluctantSale.

Ive had this for over 25 years, its still fully functional

It truly is an amazing bit of equipment

(I havent swtiched it on in years, turned it on today, and data was still on there from over 10 years ago………… )” Link

“This is a used vintage 1980s Roland Drumatix Tr-606 Analog Drum Machine! This unit does not come with an adapter. You will need an adapter for this unit. You will need a Roland Adapter ACA120V for USA or ACA230 For EU and other 230V regions. You can also use a Boss PSA adapter. The unit is tested and works. Cosmetically it has a discoloration in a spot on the back where the gray wore through to white on the plastic. It has some minor scratches. No major flaws! A blast from the past!” Link

“You are bidding on the classic Roland Drumtasix TR-606. I picked this up over 10 years ago and has lived in my smoke free studio & also has its original carry bag. It has had the midi modification done. I will be sad to part with it.” Link

“Got a TR 606 here, in good condition. There’s a few scuffs and scratches. On the back, around the battery compartment, it looks like something was spilled, wiped, sprayed, or whatever. See the pix. It’s not battery acid; the battery compartment is clean. It was a rental unit when I got it way back when, so I suppose that has something to do with it. That also explains why the serial number is engraved on the back (with the numbers switched around). I took the back off of the unit, and the negative battery spring was tarnished a little, so I cleaned that up. All controls, inputs and outputs work fine.
Included are the owner’s manual, power supply, and a little homebrew box that converts the DIN sync output to a regular clock pulse. Press run, a clock signal starts. Press stop, it stops. Useful for syncing to sequencers or other non-DIN sync toys. Oh yeah, this converter box does NOT work the other way around. (Clock to DIN sync). Good luck, and happy bidding.” Link

“This auction is for a vintage Roland TR-606 Analog Drum Machine This machine works perfectly, and is in excellent condition considering its age. Remember, this unit is almost 30 years old, and there is some slight natural wear due to its age. ” Link

“Interesting that this 606, from the same seller, has a similar serial number to the 303 just listed – both ending in 400. It also has a Japanese user manual, and the rare folded card user instructions in Japanese – and the original soft case. Not such excellent cosmetic condition, though – one little knob missing, a very neat slice 3mm x 12mm next to the run/stop switch socket, and generally looking a bit more used. But this does come with alkaline batteries, so is ready to roll.” Link

“VINTAGE ROLAND TR-606 COMPUTER CONTROLLED DRUMATRIX IS IN GOOD SHAPE.IT SOUNDS GREAT.COMES WITH A BOSS ACA POWER SUPPLY.” Link

“Roland TR606 Full Package with case. Perfect operation. UK seller.

You are bidding on TR606. There is some cosmetic damage as in photos, so I am offering a full package to make up for this. The unit itself is completely operational in all respects and hardly been used in its life.

CONTENTS

The 606 of course. All complete and fully operational with mains or batteries. No scratchy pots and missing battery cover.

Recommended 606 supply that are available on ebay.

The roland 606/303 case thats worth up to 60 pounds. The shoulder handle is not present. Front strap and all buttons working.

Boss FS-5U non latching footswitch which operates start and stop on the unit (with cable)

Printed copy of the original 606 manual.

COSMETIC DAMAGE

See photos

It has hardly been used in its life, as you can tell by the front decals and buttons its looking fairly new.

However it took a blow to the rear casing which has been filled. This can be improved on. The repair is strongly done using plastic weld, and not visible when the unit is in its case.

The front also had bad scratch which has been painted over as you can see. It basically needs redone with a lighter silver.

Underneath, crack visible. but this has been glued internally.

Various light scratches if you look close enough.” Link

” Reluctantly selling my TR606. You know what this thing does and is capable of so i’ll just describe mine.
Ive had it since 1995 and its never been out of my studio, it was a little scratched and worn when i got it but works perfectly apart from
it doesnt work off a power pack (batteries only, dont know why but im sure it could if someone was technically minded to get it to) and the pots are a
bit scratchy but nothing a little switch spray wouldnt clear.
Ill obviously post it without batteries as the weight of 4xC batteries would add a lot to postage.” Link

Works off 4 C-type batteries (battery compartment cover missing)

” For sale is a used roland Tr-606 Drumatix drum machine. The adapter and batteries are not included in this auction. You need a special adapter to power this unit which is a 9v center – (neg) 500ma adapter. Boss makes them

This drum machine works just fine and I have tested every function.. None of the knobs are scratchy, all of the buttons work, the battery lid isn’t broken, the battery compartment doesn’t have any battery acid damage, and all of the LED’s light. I have tested it with both batteries and a Roland / Boss adapter that I have lying around and it works with either of them. ” Link

“Roland TR-606 Drumatix Vintage Drum Machine

In full working order, this is a great sounding machine! (just to clarify, I have never spent enough time with one to figure out exactly how it works but all the buttons seem to do something and when you press go it plays a drum track with all the parts present and controllable from their relevant faders.)

The top is in very good condition with barely a mark on it. The bottom has had 3 initials painted on and the battery compartment cover is missing. It is, however just fine on a 9v power supply and sounds great!” Link

Roland, TR-606 @ 17 April 2011, “No Comments”

“It is supplied with it’s original case. The power supply unit is not the original but works fine. It can also run standalone on batteries. I have a PDF copy of the manual so it is no problem learning how to program the drum patterns. The manual suggests some starting patterns.

The machine is in it’s original state with no modifications.

It looks great as it has always been kept in it’s case. I have tested it on the power supply and batteries and it works fine.” Link

Optisch und technisch sehr guter Zustand.

Ich denke die Bilder sprechen für sich.

“For sale: TR606 with blue LEDs.

Up for grabs is my little silver beatbox the TR606. As you can see from the pics it’s in pretty good condition for its age.

(expect the usual wear here and there but nothing too glaring).

The red LEDs have been replace with modern blue LEDs which look fantastic, especially in the dark.

Everything works as it should and the sound is gloriously analogue (open and closed hi-hats to die for.)

Also you can run a distortion box through this and take the bass drum to another level..” Link

“Here for sale is a good condition, home use only Roland TR-606 drum machine. I bought this instrument new about 30 years ago and used it a bit for a few years. It then got put in the attic where it has been for quite a while. In spite of its long ‘rest’ it remains fully operational and in good cosmetic order.

Many years ago I carefully modified it for separate outputs via four 3.5 minijack outputs on the rear. The silver fabric carry case has become rather mottled with age and the cover for the battery compartment has a split across the plastic sprung bit (see photo 3) this should be simple to glue. I have never bothered though as it’s holding on” Link

“Classes analogue drum machine, the little brother of the 808

In really good condition for it’s age, and comes in the original (though admittedly tatty) box

If you’re reading this you know how great these sound. If you don’t, there’s plenty of sites with specs and sounds out there” Link

Roland, TR-606 @ 03 April 2011, “No Comments”

“Hi all, up for grabs is the TR-606 from Roland, a well known member of the TR series. While not quite as thumpin’ as it big brothers the 808 and 909, the 606 has some fantastic sounds on it and the snare, ride, and hats are all very reminiscent of the 808 and have a fantastic analog sound. The kick has a charm all of its own once you can figure out how to mix it!

While it is in great cosmetic condition, unfortunately this particular unit has died since it has been in my possession, however I was able to spend many long hours messing around with it back in those golden days! I just don’t really have enough need for it to justify getting it repaired and I don’t have the technical know-how to do it myself (I suspect its probably just a dead cap in the power section or something simple like that – not a massive failure of multiple parts. This is because it worked fine and then stopped powering up one day.)
Runs off standard 9v or batteries, neither are included” Link

Roland, TR-606 @ 03 April 2011, “No Comments”

“The drum machine is in perfect condition functionally, everything works, no sticky buttons, noisy pots or any other functional issues. The cosmetic condition is good. Normal scratches etc and there are 2 chips but neither of which affect the integrity of the drum machine. It is very sturdy and the chips are cosmetic only. And there is a bit of tape residue. The battery compartment is clean, no leaks. Comes with a generic Radio Shack power supply.” Link

” the first #1 button in the keyboard comes and goes; other then that it works great. It stores up to 32 patterns and 8 songs. The 606 allows switching between Pattern Play and Write mode while running – making the 606 the only drumcomputer in the X0X series that can be edited while performing and switching patterns. It is also possible to link up to 4 consecutive patterns in Pattern Play mode. There is only a mono audio output, however there are mods from Kenton Electronics and Analog Solutions that will add individual outputs for each drum tone.” Link

“This is a vintage drum machine that I have owned since it was new and it has been in my studio. It has a few scratches dirty controls and some smudging (non-smoking studio). There is no manual or adapter but I powered it up and after repeatedly pressing each button, seems to mostly work. When I hit the stop button it did not stop everytime but seemed to occasionally stutter. It will at least need a good cleaning. Again, I do not remember how to program it but I did call up a stored phrase and it played it. No warranty, no returns. ” Link
