“Up for bid is the 1975 Moog Taurus Pedal Synthesizer serial#1186. Built date of 4/18/75 from the yellow label inside. Selling AS IS – FOR PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY.

Does not power up and it’s in really bad shape. I acquired it in this poor condition. Rust around the panels, pedals and on the inside as you can see in the pictures. Panel lifts up freely. There are some screws included.” Link

“This is an original Moog Taurus analog bass synth. It is in excellent condition and everything seems to work correct. I have included videos below so you can see and hear this machine in action (this is my foot and this machine in the video!). There are a few minor nicks and one small rubber foot is missing. The door for the variables control is missing the pin on one side but this is a simple fix. This Moog makes some amazing noise if you don’t allready know”

“For sale is a Moog Taurus 1 Synth Pedal. I believe this is from the early eights, but not 100% positive on the year. If you are looking at this, you know what it does. The long plastic keys have been carefully replaced with nicer, more durable wood ones. The unit works perfectly and sounds great. Shows its age with the scuffs and small tears of a unit this old, but not abused. Just well used. With it is a nice road case for easy storage and safe transport.” Link

“Come ….all yee seekers of cool, of the rare and unusual, harken…. be enchanted by the sounds of old school crunch, and thunder. Yes the lengenday sounds of the mighty Taurus, God of Thunder and havoc, ruler of the sub bass….LOL

Yes its true you are looking at the one & only, the mighty original Moog Taurus pedals….None like it, nay none! Alledgedly they are releasing a new/old version of this old monster, I hope its close….but in case its not here’s the real thing to use as the baseline.

It works perfectly, it has been maintained regulary, and has a great history. Ive owned it since 1990, and it went on tour with me in 93′ with Trevor Rabin. I hate to let it go but im building a Pro Tools HD studio and Im burning cash like the Kennedy’s” Link

“Unit fully functional with the following cosmetic flaws to consider:

missing rubber foot grip pad on filter Slider

missing metal cap on beat knob

missing window that covers the tone dials

The contacts needed to be cleaned on first start up but each and every pedal and knobs work fine. This instrument is said to be the fattest Moog available since the Modular (from which the filters have been directly lifted” Link

“Moog Taurus 1 Analog Synth Bass pedals in working condition! These pedals sound amazing, are super collectible, and a wonderful sounding instrument that is way fun to play along with any instrument. Pedals are in nice condition minus the missing grip tape stuff on the left slider, other than that these are really nice pedals and nothing major cosmetic so if you replaced the tape stuff with black rubber it would be looking real sharp. I would say it’s a really nice 8/10 condition. It’s fully functional and very stable, everything works fine for a 30+ year old synth like this. It has a little corner peeling up in one of the pictures, functionally I’m not sure if the LED light is working in the octave switch function but the function itself works fine taking you up and down the octaves. When I got it hadn’t been played in years, the resonance slider seemed a little scratchy/intermittent but worked fine after awhile. All the notes work fine on the pedals, considering this is a unit meant to be played on the floor it’s in great shape I think. I’ve sold a lot of vintage synthesizers and have great feedback, I properly pack things so they never arrive damaged which is a bit expensive but on things like this you don’t want to mess around.” Link

taurus1 “Up For auction we have a Moog Taurus Bass Pedal Synth.
For those that dont know, the taurus has one of the biggest bass tones ever, they sound amazing, and this unit is no exception.

Polyphony: Monophonic
Oscillators: 2 VCO’s, 4 presets (Taurus, Tuba, Bass and a user-programmable patch); VCF: 24 dB/oct lowpass w/ cutoff, emphasis, A/D envelope; VCA: Attack, Decay, Sustain; Keyboard: 13 note pedal-board

As you can see from the pics this unit has seen better days cosmetically, but after all you step on it with your foot.
All controls and pedals work well.
The pedals have to be adjusted every so often, each tone is activated by the pedal pushing on a metal contact,
When the contact is broken the tone activates, all you have to do to adjust the pedals is bend the contact so it is being pushed by the end of the pedal.
This is very easy to do. Like I said everything is working right now, But I think it might need some adjustment after shipping.

Link

taurus “The Moog Taurus I Is A Self-Contained Synthesizer Famed For Its Earthquake-Inducing Bass Timbres. It Does One Thing, And Does It Well… BASS.
This synthesizer is monophonic with 2 oscillators, 3 presets and 1 variable. It’s got superb Moog filters and it’s a vintage bass thing used by many bands in the 70′s. (Genesis, Rush, Police, U2, Asia, Pink Floyd, 10CC, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue) This unit looks really nice and works great. It has been tested over an extended period and everything seems to be working exactly as it should. It sounds great too! So if you are looking for the best bass synthesizer sound ever made. You can’t find one in better shape than this one. Thanks for looking.” Link

taurus “Up for auction is a vintage Moog Taurus I bass synthesizer. If you’re looking at this auction, then you probably already know what this is. This has been dubbed the fattest bass synth ever built, and has been used by the likes of Rush, Genesis, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Weezer, and Mastadon, just to name a few. This unit has a low serial number of 1432. I just received this synth back from repair by Armen’s Musical Instrument repair, one of the few synthesizer repair shops that is endorsed by Moog. It has been calibrated, cleaned, and has a brand new power cable. The synth shows the usual signs of use, but is in great shape for a unit this old. Three of the plastic foot pedals are missing. I have seen pedal sets for sale on eBay twice since I bought this synth at the end of the Summer. If I was looking at this auction, I would be inclined to ask, “If they’re so common, why didn’t you buy them?” During the first listing, there was a pedal set for a Taurus II on craigslist for $100. I intended to buy that, take three pedals, and resell it. Unfortunately, by the time I contacted the seller, they were gone, and the eBay auction had ended. The second time they were listed on eBay, I didn’t notice until after it was over, and they were in the completed listings. It’s possible that more have sold on eBay in that time-frame too and I just missed them. The point is, that they’re not all that uncommon to find, so you can save a bit of money and replace them later. But, if you think you need the shiniest, museum quality gear to make great music, take a look at this photo of a little bit of the Chemical Brothers’ gear. The starting bid is how much money I have in these pedals. I bought these to use, but I’ve decided to put music on the back burner for now and focus on my screen printing business. This is a great deal on a synthesizer that I have seen sell many times for $3500+. This is one of the rarest and most desired of all Moog synths, and definitely the only bass synth you want to play with your feet. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper Taurus IIs, those are nothing more than Moog Rogues with foot pedals. If you want that real Taurus sound, this is the only way to go. You are more than welcome to come see the pedals in person and test them out. Feel free to ask any questions that you have. I have 100% positive feedback, so bid with confidence. Good luck!” Link

taurus “Up for grabs today is a 1977 Moog Taurus I bass pedal synthesizer. Many of these I have seen certainly have their fair share of damage from age and the wear and tear of gigging, touring. The synthesizer I am selling (serial number 3017) shows signs of use but is in great condition all things considered. The flip up glass window is one of the first things to go and the pedals tended to break, both are in great working order.

The sound is what makes these so desireable and sought after today. Everything is clear, no scratchy pots or sliders…just the warm rich analog Moog sound made famous by Yes, Rush, the Police, Yngwie Malmstein and most recently Mastodon.” Link

“Original Moog Taurus Bass Pedal synthesizer. Works great, has all original parts including glass window and housing. Comes with an Anvil (anvil brand) case. I bought this in 1993 from “The Starving Musician” in CA. All sounds work good The plastic part of the pedal on the E note has been broken off. I have glued is back on to the metal part of the key and put tape around it to reinfoce. It is sometimes cold natured. works better if it warms up for a while before playing. Cosmetically it has some color wear. therer are no cracks on the wood sides. A very sturdy instrument.” Link

” You know what these are and what they can do. I recently had them looked over by the techs at Creation Audio Labs in Nashville,Tn. and they replaced a couple of caps., loose wires and let her out with a clean bill of health. So everything lights up, works as it should and sounds fantastic! All the sliders and knobs function properly, the control panel is not broken(like some are), all the pedals work, and the power cord has been replaced. There are two issues. 1.) The high C pedal (far right) will stick and this is really not a big deal (stay with me on this). The reason this happens sometimes is because the spring that allows the pedal to retract away from the contact is gone. I made another spring for it but it still sticks sometimes. You can move the pedal( there’s a little side to side play in all the pedals-this is natural) and it will stop playing the note. It sounds worse than it is but this is a very cheap fix I just can’t get around to fixing it myself. 2.) The Left side panel has a crack in it (as you can see in the pic) and the aluminum frame over it is slightly bent. I don’t know how this happened as it was like this when I bought them. I don’t know how deep the crack is but it looks like it could be merely a surface crack. This could be covered up by finding some vinyl covering just like it. As I stated above these things work and sound great. The two issues are really minor and shouldn’t deter you from buying these pedals and the shipping is FREE to buyers in the contiguous U.S. If you are outside the states please contact me for shipping info. Thank you for looking! “
