“I have a really clean, fully serviced Sequential Prelude in excellent condition. I have been collecting a lot of string synths lately, and the Prelude is one of the most versatile. It has a particularly good resonant filter, and can go from vintage string bliss to biting, funky clavs and synth/brass stabs, to jazzy organs with the flick of a switch and a push of the filter. AND you can layer everything for a huge sound that is like nothing else. The EQ and Modulation as well as the resonant filter give you a lot of variety and control. And the full polyphony allows for some huge sustained soundscapes. I am learning that string synths are the best source of that elusive vintage sound without spending thousands of dollars. ” Link

The Prelude reminds me a lot of the Korg Delta but with additional instruments and a sophisticated EQ and modulation section.” Link

I tried all the switches, faders, and buttons, and they all seem to work to my ear. When I encountered a scratchy sounding fader, contact cleaner was able to clean up the sound. I am not a tech, so it is sold “as is”.” Link

An excellent 4-part orchestral synthesizer with that great late 70s/early 80s vibe: think John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ soundtrack, especially. This is the same machine as an Arp Quartet or Siel Orchestra, with the SCI branding and graphical style.

This machine is in fully playable and functional condition. All keys work, all voices and modulation sections are fully operational, and the oscillators hold their tuning really well. Cosmetically the housing has faded a little with age, and some slider caps are missing, but otherwise this unit is in good condition for its age.

It’s been in a non-smoking studio for the last several year, and not used for gigging.” Link

Fully working Sequential Circuits Prelude in the original box!

This is a full polyphonic analog synthesizer as you would expect,

but like others of its day its built off instrument presets which become your starting points.

You can add the presets in various ways, but it gets more synthy with the modulation.

As a gigging synth its pretty damn useful. As a substitute for an Arp string ensemble its great.

Even has little popup feet in the back – why dont all keyboards have this?

Works great, in decent cosmetic shape too. Made in Italy” Link

Vintage Sequential Circuits by Siel Prelude Analog Synth

The synth has been tested and the instruments seem to all work great.
With some of the sounds its hard to tell what kind of change is made when switching the modulation settings.
The highest C key on the keyboard does not work.
Some of the switches are missing the knobs or gray caps.
The rubber on the legs has melted to the body somewhat and will need to be replaced.
Listed for parts because it is not fully functioning.” Link

prelude” You don’t see these every day and not in this condition. There are few signs of wear and everything functions 100%. Barely noticeable the last four sliders lack caps but are fully operational.
This instrument is a pleasure to hear and play. Due to the organ paradigm of the instrument there are unlimited voices.
There is a lot more to it than first appears, with discrete instrument segments. That goes back to the days when all instruments had these labels, even the CS80, but they are so tweakable you have a powerful full-fledged synth. While the instrument emulations are there, the parameters produce a wide range of sounds, far beyond the instrument. The “Brass” in particular makes some powerful, wide-ranging pure synthesizer sounds. Your imagination is your only limit and you can come up with things that don’t sound like everything else. ” Link

prelude“This is what i’m guessing is an early 1980’s (serial # 2771135) Sequential Circuits Prelude synthesizer in clean overall condition. I see one crack at one bottom corner, otherwise no cracks or dings, shows some scratches and oxidization on some of the metal parts on the rear, missing only 1 adjustment slider cap (strings percussion) otherwise it’s complete. I have tested this and everything is working except for all the G# and B keys, they do work but are muted. For some reason, when the brass and organ settings are selected 3 high sets of G# and B keys all work fine but the low G# and B, keys 9 and 12, are still muted. Everything else works, all the settings, all the adjustment sliders. ” Link

This auction is for an SCI Prelude (aka Siel Orchestra II). Everything works, but it is noisy and, when left to its own devices, occasionally barfs out some random sound. Some of the sliders are crackly too. The Prelude has a cool, unique sound and you can run audio through its flanger/chorus and EQ sections.

Sold for parts/repair only.” Link

“This is a vintage Sequential Circuits Prelude.

100% Analog Synthesizer known for it’s sweet string and brass sounds.

It needs some work. This is what I know:

– It powers up
– piano/clav section works
– equalizer section works
– organ section needs to have rocker swtiches reinstalled (all parts I have are included)
– brass section works but has very low output
– LFO seems to work
– chorus seems to work
– the E and G keys all produce a noisy tone instead of an E or G
– pitch bend work
– master tune works
– master output works

This is a great synth if someone wants to fix it up. If not, it has parts in it that are no longer made and are getting very hard to find that you might need for another project.” Link

“Here is an extremely rare Sequential Circuits Prelude synthesizer. It is in very nice shape and is 100% fully functioning. As with any vintage synth, there are a few scuffs here and there but nothing worth mentioning specifically. This board sounds great and would find a home in any style of music. It includes a nicely built, tolex covered flight case.” Link

” The pitch bend will not pitch down it will only pitch up same with the equalizer section of the synth you can only use it from the halfway point up.

Other than that it works fine.

Lush polyphonic strings and very fat lovely analog bass sounds from this synthesizers.

Listing it as not working because of the 2 issues.
But item is in good woking condition other than that.

I bought this synth in the same condition as it is now.
I have not repaired it as it never caused an issue with my setup. It’s in tune with all my other synthesizers.

It might be a simple fix I do not know. ” Link

“Sequential Circuits Prelude Technician Inspected!
This Prelude has been cleaned and tested by a synthesizer tech.
I bought this synth recently from a synth tech and now I’m selling it to buy a Korg Polysix for a band that I’m putting together.
It’s not in perfect physical condition.
It has a wear mark where some of the paint has peeled on the faceplate and at least four of the slider knobs are missing.
Electronically, the synthesizer functions perfectly and everything works great.
I especially enjoy the brass section and the strings sound very full. ” Link
