Since I am not an expert with really any of this equipment the only testing I did was plug in each unit and make sure it came up. It does has a nice clear display and changes modes so it appears to be working. Actually for this unit since it was easier to test I connected headphones and could definitley hear the percussion sounds so it is working for sure.
The manual is included which most folks selling these do not have. Also the original power supply and ROM Cartridge is also included. I guess these were $1200.00 when they came out in 1986 see below. ” Link

Both units POWER UP FINE, HOWEVER, I DO NOT HAVE AN AMP TO TEST the SK20 FURTHER. It was working fine when it was last used several years ago. As with all things vintage these items are SOLD AS IS. ALL knobs sliders, functions and connectors test fine. Some of the vinyl wood finish is scuffed and marred with a few dings. This would not affect playability or functionality. I SPENT SOME TIME WITH IT AND DONE A FACTORY RESET LAST NIGHT AND PUT BACK ALL THE SOUNDS AS THEY FIRST WERE, THE TAP BUTONS THAT DID NOT WORK WORK SOME TIMES NOW BUT THERE ARE 4 IAM NOW SURE THAT IT IS JUST THE CONTACKS NEED CLEANING AS IT HAS NOT BEEN USED FOR A LONG TIME THE SAME AS A KEBOARD THE KEYS DO THAT TO IF NOT USED FOR A WHILE ALL THE REST IS UP AND RUNNING JUST FINE.” Link

This machine is arguably one of the best, most durable and versatile drum machines of all time – and is still compatible with today’s midi interface equipment. And it is so incredibly user-friendly, it won’t take years of study to get it up and running. This unit is original and has not been circuit bent or modified in any way. It comes with the original users manual, power adapter and the original sound cartridge. This drum machine is in great working condition – I tested it out just before listing, and it still sounds incredible! Big, beefy kick drums, toms, snare and much more percussion and great effects. The only slight defect I have noticed is that the #8 & #9 keys are a bit sticky, and sometimes take a few presses to get there. The numbers can also be accessed by using the up & down cues. Otherwise, everything works fine.” Link
