“This S-10 powers on but does not produce output. Just says ‘Ready’. It is also missing the adapter(we tested with a shop cable). The original manual is included. This could be an easy fix for someone in the know. This is your chance to get your hands on a real diamond in the rough. With a little work, you’ll have an excellent nearly vintage sampling keyboard.” Link

“This is a Roland S-10 Sampler in very nice condition considering it’s age. I purchased this in 1989, and its been in a closet for the last part of its life. Its features include 12-bit sampling, (now back in vogue!), 8 voice polyphony, auto-looping, and a handy arpeggiator. It has its own unique sound relative to the E-mu, Akai, and other samplers of its day. The sampler is compact, heavy, and well built. The auction includes only the keyboard, Roland power cord, a box of 10 Quick Disks, the plastic QD holder that hangs on the back of the keyboard, and the original Roland S-10 sales brochure. I will also a PDF of the S-10 service manual to the buyer via email.
It’s in good looking and playing condition. The keys and key action are very good. The LCD display is fine, and a backlight was visible in the daylight, but I did not test the brightness in a darkened room. I tried loading a few of the Quick Disks, some loaded fine, others gave me “I/O Error 2″, which probably means the data on the disk has evaporated over the years. It’s likely (but not guaranteed) the disks would still be usable if over-written with new data. It has MIDI in/out/through connectors, and can also function as a compact MIDI controller.” Link
I bought this as an experiment but haven’t really got to grips with it. I’ve loaded sounds from the disks, which play nicely, but haven’t actually persuaded it to record a sample. Could be me, could be a dodgy microphone, could be the keyboard, but I’ve reached the point where it’s time to let someone else have a go with it. (The internal battery is certainly not preserving settings when powered off – maybe a new battery is all that’s needed…?)” Link
“Welcome bidders, you are looking at a really cool piece. This is the 80′s Roand S-10 Sampler Keyboard project. Roland has been at the head of the electronic instrument pack for quite some time. Always one of the first to market with cutting edge technology. In the mid 80′s Roland introduced the S-10. Featuring 49 velocity controlled keys, 8 voice polyphony, a 12 bit sampler with 256k memory, and Hi & low pass filters, this was a force to be reckoned with. The onboard sampler allowed you to edit, loop, reverse, tune, or filter. Other sounds were available on disk. This S-10 powers on but does not produce output. It is also missing the side panels and adapter(we tested with a shop cable). The side panel screws are included as is the manual. This could be a real easy fix for someone in the know. This is your chance to get your hands on a real diamond in the rough. With a little work, you’ll have an excellent nearly vintage sampling keyboard.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“Vintage Roland S-10 sampling keyboard, with disk drive not working. I’ve had this for over 20 years and kept it in great condition, except the drive belt on the disk drive got worn out (despite limited use).
If you are reading this, you probably know the worn drive belt is a fairly common problem and some repair instructions are posted on the web. Alas, I just don’t have the time. I have taken the keyboard a part a bit to confirm this is the problem. The keyboard still powers on just fine.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

“Das Keybord ist gebraucht und weist die üblichen Gebrauchsspuren auf. Es wird vorsichtshalber als defekt verkauft da wir aufgrund fehlendem Zubehörs, z. B. passendes Stromkabel, leider nichts zum technischen Zustand sagen können! Der helle Streifen ist ein Klebeband welches mal zum beschriften diente.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“The quick drive has not been checked for a while as I only every use the keyboard for live capturing and using it to mess with incoming siginals, so I can’t say whether the drive is working or not. The end cheek as also come off and is missing (I bought it this way )but does not effect the unit in any way. ” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
