Details about the synthesiser :
Apart from a few rough edges (see images), the unit is fully operational.
It has been recently serviced with all faders cleaned with Deoxit, and the volume pot replaced with a NOS.
Also it has had the necessary proper CV input mod, as if you intend on running this synth from CV rather than the internal sequencer then this will allow the correct timing to take place as the incoming CV will not be quantised first by the CPU.” Link
“Vintage Roland MC202 Synthesizer/Sequencer in great vintage condition. Awesome analog bass sounds. Everything in perfect working order. The only flaw: a replacement clear cap for one of the keys(pictured). Otherwise good to go.” Link
“For sale is a Roland MC202 microcomposer vintage analog synthesizer. This synth is like a hybrid between the Sh101 analog section and the TB303 sequencing section. A great sounding classic analog from the ’80s with dual din sync and sequencing ability, very useful for old Roland setups. Fully functional and in excellent near mint cosmetic shape. Only issue is the ADSR in the gate mode, when the sustain is all the way down it gives a slightly distorted sound. It must be just a bad connection that needs cleaning. It sounds and works normal as long as it’s not at the “zero” position. See pictures below for more details. These MC202′s are getting rare, don’t miss out! ” Link

“Item is in good condition, though this is a vintage item around 30 years old. There is a small chip in the side of the case (see picture). All buttons and sliders work very well. Some of the controls aren’t quite 90 degrees to the front of the unit, doesn’t affect operation and you can hardly tell to be honest – but mentioning for complete accuracy. Three manuals included, one is original, and two are printed out from the internet.” Link
” Classic analogue acid box. Used on Josh Wink’s ‘Higher States of Conciousness’. In perfect working order. Studio use only.. There is a slight stain on the display and a couple of knocks on the side (see photo) but otherwise it is in good cosmetic condition. I have a photocopy of the manual and will include a 9volt power supply. I’m selling as i’ve had it for ages and want to swap things up . Thanks for looking.” Link
” Good condition!
It works very good! No problem.
The Roland MC-202 is very rare in the world.” Link
”
Link
“Roland MC-202 MicroComposer
Comes with original Gig Bag, Copy of the original manual and quick start guide, PSA-120S power adapter, Boss stickers, MC-202 Data Cassette, Audio cable
Gig bag is awesome. MC-202 fits inside, tape or whatever you want fits in little pouch. I much prefer this bag over the 303/606 bag!
MC-202 itself is in pretty good shape. I ran it though its paces last night before putting it up for auction, and fell in love with it all over again. Pads feel great. Knobs and sliders seem to work as they should. No sliders really felt ‘sticky’. There’s a small bubble in the LCD window, have no idea what it is or how it got there. Otherwise LCD screen looks fine (see pics #3). Battery compartment is fairly clean for its age. It can run on batteries. I have also saved and loaded programs to the unit from my computer.” Link
“Works great, has a VCA in so that you can run external gear through the amp envelope. Sounds great, no battery door on this one and one of the faders is from a vestax mixer, as in picture. The housing is in good condition but it should be noted there is some glue on the bottom where a Velcro use to be, I was just going to cover it but I thought it would be best to leave that to you. There is also a small notch out of the plastic as in pics. This is a neat synth and is pretty rare these days. ” Link
“MC202 in great shape.full working order Lovely synth
Comes with power supply, 110v.” Link
“The MC-202 has basically the synth engine of an SH-101 with a very powerful sequencer similar to the TB-303. The MC-202 has the extra ability to program accents on the filter (just like a TB-303) or on the VCA. It also has an LFO delay. These features are not available on the SH-101 or the TB-303. The MC-202 is very compact and portable and not much bigger than a TB-303. The sequencer is a 2-channel CV/gate sequencer, with both channels being capable of driving external synths that can receive standard CV/Gate. Its DIN-sync capabilities are that it can receive on one port and send out over two ports.
The unit has a Synhouse MIDI jack installed which can bypass the internal sequencer for MIDI control of just the synth engine. There is a button installed on the front which allows you to select which MIDI channel (1-16) it will receive on. The MIDIJACK can be turned off completely so the internal sequencer will function normally on its own and can sync via DIN.
I have the original manual (the cover has a minor blemish as noted in the pictures), quick reference guide, the Synhouse MIDIJACK instructions, as well as a more powerful adapter than the original 9VDC BOSS adapter (a fully compatible 15VDC, 900mA) required for the extra power needed to run the Synhouse MIDIJACK. For more info, click on the link: Synhouse MIDIJACK
The MC-202 is an absolute classic in the Roland X0X production line and I wouldn’t be letting this one go if I didn’t need the money more than than the unit.” Link
“I have a Roland MC 202 with power adapter, Owners manual ,Circuit diagram, five batteries in good condition the only thing I can see is the one green slider on the middle of the SOURCE MIXER is missing a piece. I had it checked out at Guitar Center by a friend of mine it works he said it just needs to be sprayed.” Link
” MC202 in great shape. Lovely synth, sadly need to let it go.
Comes with power supply, 110v.” Link
“I am selling this Roland MicroProcessor for my son who now lives in London and needs to get rid of a number of items. There does not appear to be a power lead. There is a small piece of plastic missing from the side, maybe a battery lid, not sure. There is a piece of tape also along the side of machine.I can’t test it, wouldn’t know what it was supposed to do anyway! So the item is sold as seen. It is clean and will be well packed for buyer.” Link
“Mc 202 Roland Very rare analogue mono synth/sequencer
These were only produced for 17 months (1983.) and now are very collectable, great investment.
Basically a sh101 with a very powerful sequencer.
Nothing can make bass like a 202.
I’m the genuine second owner. The synth was professional serviced by Logitronics 7 weeks ago
Everything is 100%
No crackly pots
Stays in tune (very solid)
No damage to casing
No sticky buttons
LCD is bright and clear
Save and load ports work
Din sync in and out work
No battery leakage.
Very clean circuit board
CV Gate in and out work” Link
“This particular MC-202 comes from a non-smoking environment; it has a few signs of external wear but runs well. The sync-to-tape feature works, but the DIN sync has never been used by the current owner and is therefore untested.
Slight restoration: four rubber feet added by a previous owner have been removed and the battery cover has been replaced.
Extras: Spare battery cover, 9-volt power supply (not original) and a CD-ROM containing the operating manual and service notes in PDF format.
Serial # 303700″ Link
“Roland MC-202 Microcomposer Analog Synth with CV-Gate Mod
Up for bid is a Roland MC-202 Microcomposer. If you’re looking at this, you know that this is a classic analog synth (essentially the same synth engine as the Roland SH-101) attached to a very capable sequencer. With programmable Glide and Accents, the MC-202 can do sequences quite similar to the TB-303.
The 202 always had one key drawback: the incoming CV and Gate inputs used to trigger the internal synth had to go through the 202′s internal microprocessor, which usually introduced variable delays and missed notes. This limited the 202′s usefulness when driven by external sequencers.
This one, however, has been modified with a switch that allows you to choose between stock performance (using an external keyboard to program pitch values) OR to bypass the internal 202 microprocessor and go straight to the synth engine. There are some good videos on Youtube showing exactly how much better the performance of the 202 is with this mod. Only one hole was drilled for the switch (see the pics) and the switch was mounted in a relatively ‘safe’ place next to the Accent pot – this way, the switch won’t catch on anything if you move the unit around.
Additionally, the synth has been given ALL new sliders, which feel smooth and perform perfectly. Functionally, I did a basic checkout and everything seems to work.
Cosmetically, the synth is in overall good shape (see the pics). There’s a tiny chip out of the plastic in the very back at the top corner – it’s almost unnoticeable, really. Some of the rubber buttons have tiny fragments missing, but they all trigger perfectly. The battery door is intact and the battery compartment is clean.” Link

“I love old MIDI gear. Lots of satisfaction in syncing a big rack of synths together. Here’s a timekeeper! Excellent condition sequencer, fully tested. Extremely clean cosmetically. Included are the power cable, original MRC-300 operating system disk, an extra Roland MF2-DD disc, and all three manuals: Basic User’s Manual, Owner’s Manual, and Advanced User’s Manual. Free shipping to lower 48.” Link
“comes with pdf copy on disk of user manual and service manual
works 100% and lovely cosmetic condition–comes with new set of batteries installed” Link
“I have had this Synthesizer for years and used to use it linked to the drum machine then recording onto a cassette 4 track – some great sounds but now I am more guitar based and record onto a PC.” Link
“Angeboten wird hier meine MC-202.
Die kleine box ist in einem super Zustand und selbstverständlich 100% funktionsfähig.
Sound wie TB-303 oder Sh-101.
Die MC-202 wird mit Bedienungsanleitung und Netzteil geliefert.” Link
” It was a tough decision to make but I’m selling part of my Roland Holy Trinity (the other two items being an SH-101 and TB-303). Selling due to lack of use – it’s a waste to leave it in the cupboard doing nothing when it should be put to good use, doing what it does best – pumping out wicked bass and acid lines, and everything in between.
This particular 202 is in excellent condition. Modesty and caution keep me from describing it as ‘near mint’ but you may see it that way. The white and blue buttons are just that – white & blue and not discoloured. The casing has one very very small chip on the rear left corner, approx 3mm across – it’s really nothing and apart from the the casing is faultless. Runs off batteries and the battery compartment is leak and damage free.
It’s been serviced by James Walker at Synth Repair Services and I also got him to install additional (and much recommended) Kenton CV & Gate inputs. If you’ve read anything about the 202 you’ll no doubt know that when being played via its factory-fitted CV & Gate inputs, all incoming note data gets passed through it’s own sequencing software first, and it causes lag and poor note quantisation. The Kenton kit means that when played from a 303 for example, those lovely, fluid acid lines sound exactly as they should, rather than choppy and fragmented. All 202′s are like this, but not all will have had the extra expense of the remedy lavished upon them. All the original CV & Gate connections remain untouched so it can still be used as Roland intended.” Link
“This listing is for a Roland MC-202 vintage analog synthesizer. The unit is non functional and is in nice (external) cosmetic condition
Pictures are of the actual item, repairs appear to have been made but the unit does not fully power on, the LFO light blinks and responds to the sliders but other than that the unit appears to not be working
no power supply is included, it requires 9 volts at 1 amp, center positive
please note that this synthesizer will require additional repair before it is usable but even as such it is still an excellent deal, the full service manual will be included by email(and/or cd on request)” Link
“Roland MC 202 in original condition.
Fully functional and in cosmetically excellent shape. Clean corners.
All sliders and push buttons work and feel great. The battery compartment is perfect (NO leaks). Has a few light scuffs mainly noticeable on the bottom and the machine could probably use a dust (corners of the screen etc. see photo).
No power supply included. It can run on batteries or a standard 9v supply.
Will be very carefully packaged.” Link
” Selling another wonderful piece of gear I have owned for years! This MC 202 is an awesome little machine for acid bass etc … Caught somewhere between a 101 and a 303 (hence a 202). Comes with original box, original manuals, original power adapter. Everything works perfectly.” Link
“From a collection of vintage electronic musical instruments, a Roland MC-202 including the original box and manuals.
The machine itself is in excellent condition, pretty much as good as you will get, with no wear and tear around knobs & sliders, no chips to the casing and only very small minor scuffs if you look really hard to the top casing and a few minor scuffs to the bottom, see photos.
I’ve tested with batteries (not included) and everything seems to work fine. Knobs and sliders smooth with no crackle, and all the rubber buttons seem to work.” Link
”
I purchased the unit in 2004 from a fried. He was given the unit in around 1995 by another friend. Due to having no manual or Midi to CV converter he was not able to make use of the unit and it was stored away. I have subsequently had the unit stored for many years with light usage, mainly through the CV and Gate inputs as it’s a pain to program.
At some point in its life the unit has been dropped, causing the case by the battery compartment to crack, also breaking off part of the internal battery contact mounting and losing the battery compartment lid.
I have sourced new battery contacts and repaired the internal compartment and battery contact mounting, as well as replacing the battery compartment cover. See photos.” Link
“HEY , IHR BIETET HIER AUF EINEN ROLAND MC-202 IN TOP-ZUSTAND(INCL.NETZTEIL)
DIE 202 FUNKTIONIERT PERFEKT UND HAT KEINERLEI OPTISCHE SCHÄDEN.
The Roland MC-202 vintage analog synthesizer is 100% functional and is in nice cosmetic condition as well.
It will come exactly as shown in the pics so take a peek. ” Link
“Roland MC-202 Vintage Analog Synthesizer. I’ve had this unit for 11 years, works great. I’ve never had batteries in it, so the battery compartment is clean, and the battery cover is included. I have a power cord and manual to go with it. All sliders work perfectly. While turning the volume knob it crackles a little bit, however this hasn’t been a problem because you don’t adjust the volume knob while recording. When the volume knob is stationary, there is no problem at all.” Link
