“This auction is for a Roland D50 keyboard. I am the original owner of this vintage keyboard and purchased it back in the 80’s. This keyboard has been used only a handful of times since 1991 and has been kept in a smoke free environment, never exposed environmental extremes or stored in appropriate environments. It has literally sat on a keyboard stand in my man cave for the last two decades.
I also had the keyboard cleaned out and serviced last year at Wizard Electronics in Atlanta and replaced the internal battery as well. This is a major plus since you never know when you buy a vintage keyboard from ebay when it was last serviced or when the battery was replaced.
There are no broken pieces, broken keys, dents or major dings (outside of the bottom which has the typical wear you would expect on a keyboard) When using a RAM card, sometimes you have to jiggle it a bit but this was common with these keyboards even back in the 80s.
This keyboard comes with all of the original manuals, a sustain pedal and power cord.” Link

Synthesizer shows some wear from normal use and storage but for the most part it is working with some issues.
There are 10 of the Black Keys that do not produce any sound. They do not seem sticky or mushy but do not work. We marked the 10 keys with a piece of green tape. (see photos)

There is a wealth of information available on this classic synthesizer on google if you are interested so suffice to say here that it was Roland’s flagship synth in it’s day and the sounds it produces are still pretty amazing
Points to note -
The three keys marked by blobs of blue tack in one of the photos don’t work – probably require contacts replacing.
When switching the synth on it indicates that the internal battery needs replacing. The internal sounds don’t display properly and aren’t currently playable and I think would need to be reloaded onto the internal memory once this is done. However it displays (as can be seen in the photo) and plays the sounds off of the memory card with no problems apart from on the 3 marked keys.
Everything else, eg joystick, portamento, aftertouch seem to be working fine.
I have had this keyboard for nearly 20 years but it has been stored up in the loft in the flight case for the majority of the time since I purchased a digital piano with weighted keys. It comes from a no smoking home.’” Link
“Thanks for looking. I have a Roland D-50 for sale, in good condition. All of the keys work and it sounds great — restored to the original factory patches. It does have a couple of scratches, tape marks, and some of the menu keys require an extra push every now and then, but for a synth of this age I think it’s pretty good. I will include a printed out copy of the PDF instruction manual and the power cord. This does NOT include any memory cards. The default patches were restored via MIDI and the excellent D-50 Librarian program.
The second picture is how this looks packed, with packing peanuts poured on top afterwards. Please note to anyone that may have a foam allergy — I’m sorry, but have packed this with copious amounts of foam padding and peanuts, and will not be able to accommodate any other form of packing requests. “This auction is for a very nice Vintage Roland D-50 Linear Synthesizer with cords, booklets, and soft gig bag. It’s in excellent condition. Everything works great but there are no sound cards. It has been taken well care of and has No cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The booklets are soiled and wrinkled but are complete. The gig bag has a tear and some fading and is soiled but it’s all there and works fine. The rubber head on one end of one of the cords has been shaved down a bit for some reason as shown in photo but it works just fine. The table everything is on is not included. “The Roland D-50 is a polyphonic 61-key synthesizer produced by Roland. It was released in 1987.
Its features include Linear Arithmetic synthesis, on-board effects, a joystick for data manipulation,
and an analog synthesis-styled layout design. The external Roland PG-1000 Programmer could
also be attached to the D-50 for more complex manipulation of sounds.
Condition is very good and everything is working properly.
The only minor thing to mention is that the small tip of the joystick on the D50 is missing, but still works fine.
