“Up for bid is a Korg RK-100 remote keyboard for use with an EX-800 synth module or Poly 800 synthesizer. I am the original owner and have had this board in my posession since 1985. Aside from one visible ding on the front, and a couple of small paint chips on the corners, this remote keyboard is in very good condition.
All the buttons, switches, and keys work perfectly. The original battery pack (white) was damaged and repaired. A new battery pack (black) is included along with the original owner’s manual, DC power supply, and guitar strap.
The only change I made was to replace the original guitar strap knobs with Dunlop Straplok fasteners.” Link
“This auction is for an authentic Korg RK-100 remote keytar WITH a Boss Dr. Synth module, midi cable, and strap. The keytar and synth module work well and show the normal signs of wear for their age. There are numerous small dents and scratches on the keytar and some spots and fading on the module. This is an excellent combination to plug into the mobile synth world. The instrument is made of very durable, heavy wood and has controls for pitch bend, volume, and modulation. It is powered by a 9V battery (not included). The Boss module is powered by the supplied power cable. This module has hundreds of synth sounds on board, with layering and parameter adjustments.” Link

“Up for auction is a custom painted Korg RK-100 Keytar midi controller. I used this controller “back in the day” in live bands. At that time, I was really into the “Prince purple” thing, so I had it custom painted by an auto paint shop. I haven’t used it for a number of years, so after inspecting it, I discovered the six “AA” battery holder was corroded, so it was replaced with a 9 volt battery connecter. I have tested the controller by connecting it to a synthesizer via midi cable, and all buttons seems to be working as normal. Even though the text labels are not there because of the custom painting, it only takes a few minutes to figure out the buttons and functions. I don’t have the manual. Long midi cord and black leather strap is included along with an old guitar case (has some scratches and rips, but it will help protect it during shipping).
Due to it’s age, there are a nicks and scratches on the controller especially on the backside and top end. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the overall condition a 5 or 6 (I considered myself to be picky in terms of condition). ” Link
“Korg rk-100 Keytar which I think is the best keytar ever made. Unit works fine, it’s got a broken battery holder but using a little tape is fine to hold it together. The far right button on the keytar is a little sticky but works. Comes with the case for it! Unit is in decent condition, it has scratches on the back and general signs of wear but it will look great on stage!” Link
“This is a Korg remote midi controller in good condition. It is fully functional except the modulation wheel. Pitch wheel and volume wheel function as well as the patch change buttons. When I purchased this the original owner said the MG wheel was modified for an Oberheim. Anyone familiar with these units, the original schematics or midi wiring MAY be able to return it to its original wiring. Only the MG wheel is effected, everything else functions normally and has been thoroughly tested. The unit has one ding on the edge and some dings and scuffs on the bottom near the power switch, these have been touched up with black paint. Overall nice condition. ” Link
“For sale is a KORG RK 100 Midi Controller from the 80′s!! I am very sad to have to sell this guy.
The color is an off-white and the cosmetic condition is good but not perfect. There are some slight chips in the paint along the edges which I have photographed.
Mechanically this beast works perfect. It runs on a 9v battery or standard boss (or One Spot) 9v power adapter.
This is an extremely rare controller. I have never seen another white one ” Link
“Korg RK-100 in excellent condition . Excellent condition, One lil scratch in the back . guaranteed fully functionnal.” Link

“KORG RK-100, genuine original vintage 80′s instrument !
This is your chance to get your hands on an authentic 1980s vintage black wooden ‘Key-tar’ / ‘Remote Keyboard.’ These boards are in demand and this is the genuine original article! It has 41 keys, but also has an octave switch which allows you to have High, Medium or Low octave – so this creates a massive range but in a good sized instrument to hold!
It also has bend vertical wheel and a midi volume wheel. It is midi so you link it up to any sound module / synthesizer, etc – or to your standard keyboard. So you can use the most up to date sounds, or whatever sounds you want.
There are also 8 square buttons along the top and a shift button, to allow to you program in the sounds you want and access them quickly.
The instrument is in used condition so there is some scratch on it. I have tried to photograph every angle of it so you can see the scuffs and damage for yourself. The only damage is cosmetic. Everything worked perfectly.
It requires a 9v dc power adaptor or a 9v battery or 6 x 1.5v . (not supplied)” Link
“You’re bidding on a black KORG REMOTE KEYBOARD RK-100 keytar MIDI controller.
The item is USED. I have owned this for 10 years – having only used it on stage as a MIDI controller in the early 90′s. It has been in the closet of my studio for the past 8 years – unused.
There are numerous scratches, dings, and dents on the surface. There are two damaged keys. And the plastic battery pack is broken.
No manual. Although, you can find a PDF of the manual online.
The item is being sold AS IS – with no guarantee as to its working condition. I described it as best I could – please feel free to ask me any questions…” Link

The only damage is cosmetic and since it is made of wood instead of cheap plastic it can be refinished. I took it out to my studio and hooked it up and played for about an hour while having E.L.P. flashbacks of Peter Gunn and everything worked perfectly.
It requires a 9v dc power adaptor or a 9v battery. (not supplied)” Link
“5 Day Auction for a Red KORG RK 100, genuine original vintage 80′s instrument !
This is your chance to get your hands on an authentic 1980s vintage Red painted wooden ‘Keytar’ / ‘Remote Keyboard.’ I believe they have started making similar instruments to these again as they are in fashion, however this is the genuine original article!
It has 41 keys (3 octaves and a bit), but also has an octave switch which allows you to have High, Medium or Low octave – so this creates a massive range but in a good sized instrument to hold!
It also has volume and bend vertical wheels.

There are also 8 square buttons along the top and a shift button, to allow to you program in the sounds you want and access them quickly.
The instrument is in a used condition so there is damage here and there as you’d expect for its age. The features work ok and it can still knock out a good tune. I have tried to photograph most of the damage the best I can.
The keyboard also comes with a red strap.
It requires a 9v dc power adaptor or batteries. (not supplied” Link
“This is a vintage 1984 Korg RK-100 Keytar. Remote MIDI controlled. It is in perfect working condition. Has scratches and dings from normal use but nothing to awfull. It is missing the battery cover plate and as shown in the above photo has marks from ductape holding the 9volt battery inside. Runs on 9 volt battery or power adapter which is not included. Comes with old school strap and hard shell case.” Link
“1984 Korg RK-100 Remote MIDI Keyboard 100% Working in every single way, in excellent cosmetic condition. Has 2 minor dings on the neck, about 1/8 inch across and 1/32 inch deep, and an identical bump on the back of the neck. None of these are noticeable unless you’re looking for them. I paid almost 2000$ for this about a year ago. It’s vintage yet functions like the the day it came off the factory line over 25 years ago. I’ve kept it in its gig bag when not in use since day 1. Keytars in general are getting extremely rare, yet continue to explode in current popularity. Read any review of this instrument, and you’ll see this is one of the best keytars, and the only one to my knowledge that has this kind of dependability and durability.” Link
“Amazing Bright Red KORG RK 100, genuine original vintage 80′s instrument!
In fully working order, has recently been gigged in an 80′s pop band, however the band has now split up. Your chance to get your hands on an authentic piece of 1980s vintage working ‘Keytar’ / ‘Remote Keyboard.’ I believe they have started making similar instruments to these again as they are in fashion, however this is the genuine original article!
It has 41 keys (3 ocatves and a bit), but also has an octave switch which allows you to have High, Medium or Low octave – so this creates a massive range but in a good sized instrument to hold!
It has volume and bend vertical wheels aswell.
It is midi so you link it up to any sound module – or to your standard keyboard if you play a fixed one and also want to come out the front. So you can use the most up to date sounds, or whatever sounds you want.
There are also 8 square buttons along the top and a shift button, to allow to you program in the sounds you want and access them quickly on a gig.
The instrument has been used so it has some slight surface damage as you’d expect. This doesn’t however affect the playability or worings of the instrument and is purely cosmetic. I have tried to photograph the little knocks on the headstock and along the back side so you can see.
The keyboard also comes with a great studded strap.” Link
“This is my classic Korg RK100 keytar!!Works great, has the usual nicks on finish but nothing serious…the G2 key has a minor chip underneath, hardly noticable.Works on regular 9 volt battery,I don’t have the optional power supply so I never tried to use one.Comes with custom case, printed version of the manual and a strap…just plug it in and wail!!” Link
“Tired of being stuck behind that keyboard rack? Get out in front and rock like a guitar god!! Perfectly functioning Korg RK 100 keytar. Midi connection to any midi synth module or keyboard. All switches, lights and knobs perform flawlessly, Keyboard has some nicks and dings from normal use. The battery (9 volt) connection has been removed and I will include a voltage transformer with power cord and 20′ midi cord that will power it all night long as the 9 volt batteries only last about an hour.” Link
“This rare item is a fully functional Keytar MIDI controller (Meaning it has no onboard sound).
It’s powered by one 9V battery or a DC 9V power in.
Strap, vintage case, and a stand for the Keytar are included.
Controls of this RK-100 include:
- Volume Wheel
- Pitch Bend Wheel
- Expression Wheel
- 3-way Octave Toggle
- Bank/Program Select (8/8)
-Program Up and Down Buttons
The Keytar only has minor nicks and dings, so there is no true physical damage beyond paint and chip (which is minor, see photos). Electronically, the RK-100 functions perfectly. Electronically it is near flawless, with the exception of the program down button skipping once (most likely user error). All 41 keys work on the Keytar.
This Keytar is a blast.” Link
“This rare vintage keytar is a fully funtional midi controler. It has no onboard sound. It is not velocity sensitive.
Its controls include:
- 41 keys
- on/off switch
- volume wheel
- pitch bend wheel
- assignable expression wheel (and A/B toggle)
- 3-way octave toggle
- program up/down
- 8 assignable bank/program buttons
It’s history? I got it a few years ago from my good neighbor in Maryland. He is a full-time jazz drummer. The keytar sat in his basement for years. I don’t know why he had it – I don’t think he did either. I’ve tinkered with it maybe 10 times at home with my DAW – never live.
- There is only one minor glitch – the “program down” button occasionally stalls or double-clicks. I don’t imagine this being hard to fix. If you have any questions about this, contact me.
- As you can see in one of the pictures, this controller runs on 9 volts – battery or power supply. (Minor note: The battery options include either one 9-volt or six double A’s however, if for some reason you want to used six double A’s, you will need to find a small metal “link.” If you have any questions about this, contact me.)” Link

“Electronics – 100% fully functional.
Physical – This was in great shape until one of my kids knocked it off a table and cracked the body. It has been glued and clamped, but the crack is still obvious. See the last photo where pink line has been drawn to show where crack is. At least it’s on the back. Other than that, there are some small dents and some scuff marks, and a little bit of black touchup paint. There is a rough area in the finish next to the mod wheel.” Link
