“This prodigy is in very good shape. It sounds great and everything works great. A few scratches on it but not many and a small dent on the back. ” Link

“This is a working Moog Prodigy. The keys are all even and trigger smoothly. The sliders, knobs and wheels move easily and work. Of course it has the famous ladder filter. This is an older version that does not have the audio-in jack, but it can be modified to provide that feature and others.

This is a ridiculously good sounding synth. I cannot emphasize this fact enough. Its tone is completely convincing, the controls make it easy to dial in one cool-sounding patch after another. The glide feature is great. The two oscillators can make rectangle, triangle, and saw waves, and can be synched or detuned for a thick stacked sound. This is a synthesizer and keyboard player’s dream.

The board itself is clean. The keys are level and function smoothly. These switches and pots are designed to prevent dust getting inside, and accordingly the controls work smoothly and produce no “crakle” type sounds. This board was not made with the foam inside that can deteriorate, so it is really good to go for the foreseeable future. Tuning trimpots are easily accessible on the back of the board. The power cord is built-in.

The only performance-related fault that I could find is that the glide control produces anomolous results at higher settings, causing a de-tuning effect. I found that this was a minor fault however, because the most musically useful glide settings are in the lower settings, and the glide works very well at these settings. ” Link

“Der Moog Prodigy wurde von 1980 bis 1984 hergestellt und zählte zu den erfolgreichsten Produkten des Unternehmens. Mehr als 11.000 Exemplare des kleinen Monophonen erblickten das Licht der Welt. Meiner hat Seriennummer 1010, stammt also aus der ersten Serie. Beim Prodigy handelt es sich um einen klassischen Analog-Synthesizer. Er wird oft als “kleiner Bruder des Minimoog” bezeichnet. Wobei kleiner Bruder keineswegs abwertend zu verstehen ist! Kleiner Bruder deshalb weil einige Funktionen des Minimoogs fehlen. Der Sound jedoch ist nahezu identisch zum Minimoog, klingt eben sehr nach Moog. Der Prodigy hat zwei Oszillatoren. Der erste kann in den Fußlagen 32′, 16′, und 8′ gestimmt werden, der zweite in den Fußlagen 16′, 8′, 4′. Beide Oszillatoren bieten jeweils (natürlich pro OSC wählbar) drei Wellenformen, Sägezahn, Dreieck und Pulswelle.

Der Prodigy wurde von mir kaum gespielt, stand immer nur dekorativ im Arbeitszimmer herum, wurde nicht transportiert, hat also keine Kratzer oder ähnliches, und funktioniert selbstverständlich noch so wie im Neuzustand.” Link

“Here’s a very rare opportunity to get an original Moog Prodigy 336A complete with its owner’s manual and original box – in outstanding condition!

I am selling this for the original owner, and we believe it’s from the first year of production for the Prodigy: 1979. It’s definitely 1979 or 1980 as can be discerned from the back panel configuration, which does not have the voltage/gate input (added in 1981). The manual also has a 1979 copyright. Moog carries serial # 8046

The moog itself is in outstanding condtion and was never gigged. In fact, it only really ever got light use in its entire lifetime and has been in storage for a number of years prior to putting it up for sale. It only shows the slightest signs of wear on the edge of the wood sides. The keys, knobs, surfaces, etc. are all super clean and in outstanding condition.

I have tested/played the Moog, and I found all functions to work perfectly. All pots/sliders/knobs have been properly cleaned and operate flawlessly and without any noise whatsoever. ” Link

das gerät befindet sich in einem guten zustand, ist stimmstabil und sehr kraftvoll, an den holzseitenteilen sind ein paar gebrauchsspuren zu erkennen welche sich mit schmirgelpapier und etwas klarlack in luft auflösen, der an aus schalter hakt, in meinem fall war das kein problem da ich eine schaltbare steckdose benutzt habe, aber auch das lässt sich mit etwas geschick schnell reparieren und ändert nichts daran das dieser synth ein meilenstein ist, ich gebe ihn aus zeitmangel ab.

“Here is my Moog Prodigy monosynth in good condition, this one dates from the late 70s early 80s and is the second version with ‘S-Trigger’ in/out on the back and various in/outs. It is a two VCO synth with blendable oscillators and plenty of switching options plus the famous Moog filter. It plays and sounds superb and is stable and keeps its tuning up the octaves. A great synth for fat bass and proggy leadlines.

Cosmetically the synth has some issues; the wooden end cheeks have marks and scuffs to them but could easily be revarnished. When I bought the synth it had a repaired key (that works perfectly and has been strengthened and painted so hardly noticeable) and the knobs on the loudness/contour section are (see pic) appropriate vintage looking replacements. None of these minor issues detracts from the synths sound or playability.” Link

Synthwood added an audio in so you can run your favorite synths, or just about anything through the Moog Prodigy filter. Since this was an earlier model (serial # 1536) they also added CV and Gate ins.

All switches, sliders and keys were cleaned, lubed and adjusted as needed. They also put an IEC power cable adapter instead of the dodgy power cables that were attached. Oscillators were tuned and scaled to A440.

Included in the price of the keyboard is a mains transformer (Sunpower 200VA Step-Down Transformer – UK 230 VAC to USA 110 VAC) as the keyboard has an American plug socket. Das Gerät wurde professionell von dem seltenen Moog-Switch-Trigger auf CV/Gate umgerüstet, so das es mit allen normalen CV/Gate Anschlüssen kompatibel ist! Dabei wurde auch die seltene Chinch-Jones-Buchse gegen eine selbstverriegelde Neutrik Klinkenbuchse getauscht, so das alle “merkwürdigen” Moog-Verkabelungen entfallen und das Gerät mit ganz normalen, handelsüblichen Klinkenbuchsen betrieben werden kann. ” Link

“Where do I start! This is a 1981 Moog Prodigy in immaculate condition. It is the early model serial No 1561x with the maple wood.
I bought this new in 1981 and it was part of my keyboard set up which included a Wurlitzer stage piano and latterly a Prophet 5 wish I had these now! anyway I degrees
All my keyboards were in a custom built flightcase of which the Prodigy had it’s own section. It has remained there for the last 25 years. It is in amazing condition ( like new) everything works all the knobs and switches are there and all work and there is not a mark on any part of it including the keys and sides.
I’ve spent all day today checking it was all working and realised how usable it is, with modern keyboards you usually stick with the factory sounds as it can be a pain to edit them with the Prodigy it’s never ending (a new sound with every slight adjustment) before I new it half the day had past. Anyway if you are familiar with them you will know what I’m going on about. Why am I selling it?? Simple it’s not been used for 25 years and as I’m getting on in years can’t foresee me ever using it in earnest.

I acquired this synthesizer over a decade ago and have babied it ever since. It has been kept clean, well maintained, and has very recently been serviced with a fresh pitch wheel pot. This synthesizer is in near mint condition. Both wood endcaps are in excellent condition. Everything about this Moog is very very clean and shows very well. All of the features, knobs, switches, etc., work flawlessly. The sound of the Prodigy is phenomenal!!

“Moog Prodigy in fantastic condition. Recently ranged and scaled, functions perfectly, no noisy pots, all switches and knobs present and accounted for, wood caps and trim look really good. There is nothing quite like that Moog 24db filter now, is there?

This is the later model that has the CV/gate inputs. Hook this up to a computer sequencer or MIDI controller with something like this MIDI-CV converter and introduce the analog to the digital world.

I have a Kenton Pro-SOLO MkII that I am willing to part with if you wish. Take advantage of Buy It Now and I will throw it into the deal for free. It is perfect, both functionally and cosmetically. Using this, you can play the Prodigy with a MIDI keyboard or trigger it with a MIDI or computer-based sequencer.

I will also include a special S-trig to 1/4″ adapter cable that enables mating that unorthodox Moog trigger input jack to a standard trigger output.

I received the Prodigy as a gift, but my rig is all VST now and I’m too old and impatient to haul around heavy vintage gear any longer.” Link

“This is a great synth. It is in mint working condition. We bought it new and have only used it in a studio setting. The really amazing thing about this is the multi-lingual manual with great graphs, charts and notations for unique sounds made by my dad (Henry Kimbrell) who was an award winning jazz piano player.

Its simple yet effective design employs two voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) with saw, triangle and pulse waveforms…all classic analog stuff! There’s also a genuine Moog 24dB / octave lowpass filter (emphasis), A/D/S envelope generator, and LFO with square or sine waveforms and routing to the VCF, VCO or both! Even Portamento, Pitch and Mod wheels. To save money there are no highly flexible modulation routings, no on-board sequencers or arpeggiators, and a simple 32 note keyboard. ” Link

” This synth sounds amazlingly fat, I am only selling it because I just an oberheim 0b-8, dsx, and dx and havent touched this and don’t really need it. I want to get some lzx visionary modules so I’d rather this keyboard go to someone who is going to use it and enjoy it. There is a dent you can see in the pictures, but it functions 100%. The work that was performed on June 16th 2011 at M-troniks: Transistor array was replaced, both oscillators tuned according to manual, cleaned out intermittent pots and cleaned and resoldered connection on intermittent key bed. Due to the nature on vintage synths, this is being sold as is, but i will make sure to pack very well and put fragile stickers on it. This is the rare model that has the s-trig input and I have a cord that will be included which has the s-trig piece on one end and 1/4” on the other so it will be ready to sync if you are going to use the cv/gate inputs. “Hi. For sale here is my old Moog Prodigy analogue synthesizer. Serial no. 6642X. This is a reluctant sale, but I need to raise funds for guitar-related equipment.

Anyway, this is a lovely little synth which I have owned for the last 12 years….I have only used it for recording purposes and it is not getting much use these days as it doesn’t really go with the sort of music my current band plays. It seems a shame for it to sit around gathering dust.

It is one of the earlier versions of the Prodigy, so it only has a ¼ inch jack output ( I believe later models had CV/gate interfacing ).

Electronically, everything seems to be fine…I’ve just given it a good workout and haven’t noticed any problems…she sounds as great as ever! Once warmed up, the tuning is remakably stable…I wish my guitars stayed in tune as well as this!

“This one has seen better days, the wood has scuff marks on, and one of the keys is damaged and a few knobs on the right hand end are broken…

However, this is all cosmetic as the actual sound is not at all affected by the external damage. You have to really use your finger tips to turn some of the broken knobs, but you can turn them. The broken key still functions as it should.

Ideally someone who is willing to do some soldering will purchase this and change the pots out for new ones, replace the key and you will have a great moog.” Link

The wood cabinet is very close to perfect. The bottom is also very clean.
