“I’ve been the original owner of this synth since the early eighties. Much great music was composed on it in the day but it has fallen into disuse.
It would need some bench time before joining a studio. Only 10,000 of these were ever made and it sounds fat. All original parts. Please write with questions or requests for higher res. photo’s. Unit sold as is.” Link

“For sale is a Sequential Circuits Pro One J wire version. It is in good cosmetic condition. It has all original knobs, keys and switches. It will however need a tune up from experts like Wine Country Sequential. Some keys, one of the wheels and the arpeggiator don’t seem to work well. I’ve been using this synth with a midi/cv sequencer interface and it does make some pretty cool sounds. ” Link

“This is the J-wire version of the synth, not the membrane keyboard that is known to fail. It’s been recently serviced including a new power supply. It has a few scratches from long before I got it, but none of them are major. It is in complete working order, and for it’s age it is in excellent condition.
This synth is 100% analog, and rare since less than 10,000 were made.” Link

“This one is in very good cosmetic condition and working 100%. It has been fully serviced and needs nothing. This one does have the “j-wire” keyboard.” Link

“I bought the Pro-One and Pro-2 in 2002 when I was into music making and while I was on a BTEC Music Technology course at college. It has not been in use for 4 years, hence the small problems listed below:

LFO Amount knob is noisy, needs warm-up before using the modulation wheel with the LFO
Osc 1 and 2 pulse width knobs are noisy
Filter cutoff knob is noisy
Keyboard contacts are poor and will need cleaning. I use the Kenton Pro-2 MIDI to CV converter as a workaround for this.
Amplitude release knob feels a little stiff.

Small problem with the gilde
Glide is OK between amounts 0-3
Beyond the value of 3, the pitch goes up slower and goes down faster
Beyond the value of 5, the glide does not work. The pitch goes continously down.” Link

Power Supply and Pitch Wheel are non-functional” Link

“This is an excellent condition Sequential Circuits Pro One, in normal working condition. It was serviced and then stored for a couple years. Checked over every knob, alls good, although the volume and noise pots have a little fuzz, and probably just need cleaned. Will do it this week if no one buys it. It’s the J-wire version, with the good power supply. There are a couple small blemishes on the top nameplate, a few 3-4mm small dents on the wooden sides, and a scratch on the pitch wheel. Overall it looks really good. ” Link

“This Pro-One is fully functional. The keyboard is J-Wire and the power supply is mounted to the chassis. The serial number is: 100-7406

I purchased this amazing synth about 4 years ago. The previous owner claims to have never gigged it and to have been the 2nd owner. It has also never left my studio.

I recently had it tuned and cleaned. As you can see it is in excellent cosmetic condition. All keys move freely and evenly. There are no noisy pots.” Link

“Sequential Circuits Pro One

This classic warm anologue monosynth needs no introduction, if you are reading this you know what you’re looking at so im not gonna bore you with tech details…

Here are the hard cold facts about this sexy synth:

1 loving owner from new (1981)
Never been tampered/ altered in any way
Normal wear & tear/ surface scratches
May need a service – noisey knobs/switches
Middle key slightly raised (common with this model)
Original wooden sides finish
Works 100%” Link

“Zum Verkauf steht mein geliebter
Pro One Synthesizer von Sequential Circuits.

Er wurde gerade vom Fachmann generalüberholt
und ist entsprechend in TOP Zustand.

Ein toller Synth, der Liebling von Vince Clarke!
Kein Wunder, wenn man den Sound und das Gerät kennt.

“Up for auction is a beautiful Sequential Circuits Pro One J-Wire version. Also, prior to SN1500 the power supplies were mounted differently by SC. They were prone to damage if the unit took a hard hit. This unit has a serial number above 1500 so it has the better factory mounted PSU. As you can see from the pics it is in amazing condition. It plays like it looks; great. The sequencer and the arpeggiator work perfectly. You will have no issues with this unit.” Link

“Fantastic condition Sequential Circuits Pro One analog synth.
If you know what this synth is you know what it can do, if not there’s plenty of info on the net.
As you can see from the pics its in great condition. All pots, i/o’s, keys and buttons work.
I’ve had this synth for many years and have never had it out of a smoke free studio. These days it doesn’t get used so it it needs to go to a good home and make funds for new gear.
I will post anywhere around the world at buyers expense. I’ll pack it up but you organise the freight. The keyboard weighs about 10kg” Link

“sequential circuits pro 1 one monosynth classic

This synth is a monster, so so flexible, a real dream to manipulate, from the best detroit bass sounds to crazy jeff mills sci fi arps

I have had the synth well over seven years, it was serviced approx two years ago, everything works as it should, real shame to see it go. Like all pro ones the keys feel very plastic and rubbish, but I very rarely use them as it has been synced up via CV gate.

A dream to own and a synth that will only increase in value.

The Pro One is an extremely flexible synth with lots of modulation possibilities (ie: the filter, VCO B and LFO can modulate VCO A or B frequencies or pulse widths, or the VCF). There’s also an onboard sequencer, something common on many Sequential synths but not often found on other monosynths of the time” Link

“This Sequential Circuits Pro 1 monosynth is in good working condition. I have just had the output jack replaced with a factory spec. jack. The case has a few scratches, but looks good overall.” Link

“Sequential Circuits Pro One with flightcase in excellent condition ..though one minor issue the mod wheel obviously has a dry solder joint as it will not feed through to the modulation section – this can be bypassed via MIDI /CV converter by using the mod wheel on the master keyboard ..it’s never bothered me but needs mentioning !

All other functions operate perfectly ..fantastic & classic sound ,very impressive bass & very snappy envelopes .” Link

“I really wish I didn’t have to sell this but I lost my job and I need money. Great shape and everything works. Plus a very nice hard shell case. This is an amazing synthesizer with features you can’t find on other synths of the great era this masterpiece was created. It has two VCOs, a real fat 4-pole lowpass filter, two ADSR envelopes (one for filter), and a three-octave keyboard.lots of modulation possibilities the filter, VCO B and LFO can modulate VCO A or B frequencies or pulse widths, or the VCF. An on board sequencer that stores 2 patterns up 40 notes that you record. An appeggiater. Glide and auto glide, which only engages when you play legato,(very useful). The coolest thing about this synth is the re-triggering feature. Almost every monophonic analog synth only has low note priority meaning only the lowest note sounds. The Pro One has either normal (low note priority) or re-trigger. With re- trigger you get last note played priority no matter where it’s at on the keyboard. This breaths a whole new life into soloing, especially when playing up the scale. This is the most versatile synth I’ve ever played and I hate to sell it. There were only about 10000 of these ever made and I’ve always felt very lucky to own one” Link

“Up for sale is this true classic Dave Smith Sequential Circuits Pro – One mono analog synth

I doubt you will find a better condition one than this. Case condition is excellent with no damage or scratches.

The keyboard plays like new with all keys even and with the same action. I have just paid to have this checked over and had switches cleaned out, re-tuned to factory spec and also a brand new set of keyboard rubber bushings fitted and all keys re-lubricated. It didnt realy need this work done as it was so good but thought it best to get done anyway….

You will see other sellers saying these synths are known for “crap” keyboards. This is not true! The keyboards on the Pro one are much the same as on the Prophet Five, Oberheims, Minimoogs, Arps and all the best synths. The problem is they have not been looked after well or not had the bushings replaced like mine has. The keyboard is excellent!!

This has the better J-Wire keyboard fitted which is far more reliable and easy to fix and service should you have to do any repairs or service in the future

This in my opinion is the best sounding bass synth on par with the Minimoog. It is in many ways far better due to the modulation and routing used. If you didnt know…..the sound from this is the same as a single voice from its bigger brother the Prophet Five as it has the same synth engine. Uses 3 x Curtis CEM3340 VCO chips, same as in Oberheim, OBXA, OB8, SH-101 and just about all of the top level analogs!

Has CV and Gate inputs and outputs as well as audio in so you can use the filter to process external sounds

The price i have it up for reflects the condition and also the service costs just spent out.” Link

“Excellent Vintage Sequential Circuits Pro One Analog Synth; Classic Tones; Sounds INCREDIBLE!

Excellent cosmetic condition as pictured. One owner. Very low overall wear. No cracks or dents in metal chassis; lettering looks spectacular. VERY close to mint condition. The wood paneling is in excellent shape as well.

All electrical functions work flawlessly. No static, intermittent operation; all-working switches and jacks. All keys work great and sound as they should. The keys are nice and spry and do not stick. Plays like it’s brand new!

This is serial no. 858 meaning it’s one of the earliest models which utilizes the J-Wire keyboard. The sound is very warm and organic; very woody and resonant.” Link

“Here is the Vintage Analog Synth Legend – Sequential Circuits Pro-One – which has been just serviced and ready to go into your config.

It’s in great condition – front panel does not have any scratches or bents, some marks on angles but that’s ok considering it’s age.” Link

“equential Circuits Pro One 1
Vintage Analogue Synthesizer

Fully working of course !

This is amazing sounding real analogue Synth

You got to have some Made in USA analogue Synth !

This one is in a good condition , it has some marks here and there but generally looking good

5654 is the Serial Number

Keyboard is I think J Wire ( you can check on line by serial number )

Generally speaking , keyboard on any PRO ONE is crap . Everyone who ever owned a Pro One knows that . You don’t buy PRO ONE for a fantastically made keys – you buy it for THE SOUND and Charizma ! It really is special ! ” Link

“This listing is for a Sequential Circuits Pro One vintage analog synthesizer. The unit is 100% functional and is in good cosmetic condition as well. It will come as shown below in the pics so take a peek. Just fully serviced! Power supply caps were replaced” Link

“Sequential Circuits PRO ONE
It only makes sound in drone mode. I’m sure it can be repaired but if not it can definately be used for parts.

Condition: The wooden panels on the sides are a bit battered but dont look to bad and would prob be back to new’ish after some sanding and tlc. The print on the casing (by each pot) is almost all intact apart from on the Sequencer section and all the pots are on there with non missing. The casing doesnt have any rust spots but there are a few scratches (see photo’s).

“SCI Pro One Analog Monophonic Synthesizer

This unit has been refurbished by a professional audio technician.

Service paperwork included. Manual included.

The unit SOUNDS and PLAYS like NEW. The keyboard has been completely re-built.

Cosmetically, the unit is in excellent shape with minor scratches here and there. There is small crease in the top name plate (Pro-One). (See Images).

This is serial #355 w/ preferred J-wire keyboard. Purchased at Leo’s Music in Oakland, CA in 1982. I am the original owner. Lightly gigged, mainly in-home studio use.” Link

“You are bidding on a Sequential Circuits Pro-One in excellent condition. It works 100%, doesn’t have a scratch on it and plays like new!

The serial is 2437, making it a mid-production, J-wire version (NOT the membrane version found above 8500), with the power supply mounted on the frame, not the circuit board like the earlier versions (below 1500).

The keyboard plays perfectly and all the keys are levelled. The tuning is great too, tunes to concert pitch on 12 o’clock!

I’m the third owner, the first owner was a guitarist who bought it to get into synthesis but didn’t end up using it much, the second owner was a modular enthusiast who, like me, bought it because it’s a great synth, but ended up not using it enough to justify keeping it.

The original box survived to this day, it’s a bit worn but it really helped keep this beauty in mint condition.” Link

“An exceptionally fine Sequential Circuits Pro-One analog synthesizer in excellent condition! It has been powered-up and plays wonderfully. Cosmetically, this machine is in fantastic shape, with only very, very minor signs of previous usage – - it actually looks nearly new! It has been well cared for in a dry, smoke-free environment. I have thoroughly tested it and plays like a dream, with an incredible warmth, analog fatness and a wonderful spring to the keys – there are no scratchy pots, no sticky keys, no tuning issues. Just beautiful performance all-around! I am the original owner of this piece and it has never left my studio nor has it been giged or used by anyone other than myself! This in itself is a very, very rare thing as these boards have been around for decades!

This machine is both the highly desirable J-wire model, Serial Number 1742 (Anything 8500 or above has membrane keys) and also contains the improved power source support mechanism which models under Serial number 1500 don’t have. In other words, this would be the ideal Pro One to purchase if you are both a serious musician and collector as it is both reliable and cosmetically beautiful! Remember, it is the J-Wire system and the improved power supply that make this an extremely valuable piece of analog equipment – very few, if any other Pro One Synthesizers here on Ebay have both!

I scarcely need to comment on the significance of this machine, or it’s impact on the electronic, rock, prog, dance, industrial and funk genres. These boards have been used by everyone from John Foxx, Gary Numan, Fad Gadget and Soft Cell, to Yazoo, Psyche, Daniel Miller, Nitzer Ebb, George Clinton, Depeche Mode, Front Line Assembly and Skinny Puppy! ” Link

“Fantastic find ! We recently took this unit in from an Professional Musicians estate here in Michigan we were told that is in good working condition we plugged it in and turned it on everything seems to be working but we have no way of testing it (no Amp) other then the lights come and all the keys have good action I found some info in the web and posted it below. THIS SEEMS TO BE A HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER SYNTHESIZER ! This piece is being sold as is thanks for looking

it is a model no 100-9684″ Link

“Up for your consideration, a NON WORKING Pro One J-WIRE synthesizer. This WAS a perfect working synthesizer until an electrical shock zapped it, while recording in the studio. There was some work done on the synth to bring it back to life. However, it still has a ways to go. Wine Country looked at it as well and said, it either needs a new PCB (or a total pc board rebuild). PCB’s are out there, you just gotta find one. Or, as I mentioned, you could rebuild it piece by piece. There are some sellers on ebay and if you call around you could prob find one or other of the necessary parts to bring the beast back to life. But it does power on. It is close to being a cosmetically perfect pro one, except for a missing fuse cover (shown in pic). So this could be brought alive or used for parts, and if you have a membrane Pro One, you could swap the keys out, mix and match. Never gigged with and used in a smoke free studio only. It’s been wrapped carefully and is nicely packed, so this baby is ready for a new home. I’ve been clear in that this is a NON-WORKING, non-gigged, smoke free studio used PRO ONE J WIRE synth. SOLD AS-IS.” Link

“This is my Sequential Circuits Pro One. It is in excellent working order. Cosmetically it is also in great condition. Although it does have a small piece of the wood that broke off that was glued on. It stands out in the pics because of the flash but it really isnt very noticeable in person. I am the second owner the Pro One it. I bought this synth with the original box from the original owner. I no longer have the box but I do still have the owners manual and that is also included in the auction. It is in great condition and everything works. This synth uses the J wires (thats a good thing). The synth is in excellent operational and cosmetic shape. However, I cannot justify having so many expensive synths. This one and a few others have to be taken off Synth Mountain. :” Link

“Beautiful Pro One model analog synth from Sequential Circuits. Used sparingly in home studio in the 80′s and has resided in the original packaging since that time.

In perfect working order. Serial number 4608. You will not find another in this condition with as few hours of use.

Shipped to the store it was purchased new from on Nov 17th, 1981. One owner (my dad) for the last 29 years.” Link

“This auction is for one Matt’s Sequential Circuits Pro-One synthesizer.

It has been featured in various tours of The Rentals as well as in numerous recordings that they have made.

It is in good working condition overall and it sounds AWESOME!

Controls all operate properly and well.

One-stop shopping for totally evil synthsized weirdness.

Included in the auction is the road case that has housed it for years.” Link

“Yes, here it is: the Sequential Circuits Pro-One from the early ’80s — one of the finest analog monophonic synths ever made, and I’m selling it. Why? I simply don’t have the space for it, and I haven’t been using it at all except to test it for this auction. Someone out there should be using it — why not you?
Chances are if you’re a serious buyer, you know about the Pro-One and why you should want it. So here’s the lowdown on the condition.

-All the controls work as they are supposed to. A few of the knobs sometimes intruduce some noise when you turn them. However, as old analog keyboards usually are unpredictable, the noise is not always there. When it is, it is minor as you’re turning the knobs, and goes away when you stop. This never bothered me, but if it bothers you, I recommend taking it into a shop for an internal cleaning, or cleaning it yourself (at your own risk of course).
-Keyboard: All the keys are firing, no dead notes. I’ve never been a big fan of the action on this keyboard; it’s a little stiff, but that’s just the way they were made.
-Cosmetically, it looks pretty good. The wood paneling has a few scuffs on it; so does the underside of the unit. All four of the support feet on the bottom are there. The top panel looks nice. Hey, it’s almost 30 years old, don’t expect perfection.
-I am not the original owner. I bought this about 10 years ago on Ebay, and it’s obscene how little I’ve used it, so it’s been well-preserved since then.
-Serial number: 0191

- The bottom line is that this synth is in great shape for it’s age and is fully functional. However, analog synths are finicky beasts, and anything can happen.
I am selling this synth as-is, with no returns. ” Link

“i’m selling my beloved pro-one due to moving and downsizing.you know the score fabulously powerful monosynth..basically a monophonic prophet 5.

This is a better versioned J-wire keyboard (ser nos 4676) and is in good condition although whilst the Ab and Bb notes (bass register) both play, they trigger somewhat deeper( they press further in..)” Link

Link

“Up for sale is this true classic Sequential Circuits Pro – One mono analog synth

I doubt you will find a better condition one than this anywhere… it does look in new condition with no marks anywhere, no worn keys, no worn lettering and the wooden ends are the best i have seen on a synth of this age. Just one badge missing

Looking at it you would think it had just come out of the factory today!

The keyboard plays like newwith all keys even and with the same action. I have just paid to have this checked over and had switches cleaned out, re-tuned to factory spec and also a brand new set of keyboard rubber bushings fitted. It didnt realy need this work done as it was so good but thought it best to get done anyway

“SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS – PRO ONE .

Excellent example of the sequential circuits pro one analog synthesizer!

Sounds awesome and is in top condition apart from a small crease in the pro one badge.

This is a j-wire keyboard version serial number – 3639.” Link

“Hi, I’m guessing you know what you’re looking at so I’ll skip the blurb…

- It doesn’t power up. I don’t know why, it could be something as simple as the fuse or something more serious. I don’t have the knowledge or inclination to tinker with it and as such am selling as seen for spares or repair.

- The top C sharp/D flat key is missing and the keyboard is a bit un-level in the top octave.

- The ‘release’ pot knob is missing (post is still there & turns fine)

Apart from that, I’d describe the general condition as good- no dents or cracks but some scuffing and tape residue. It’d clean up well by someone with the time & tlc to spare.” Link

“Sequential Circuits Pro-One Synthesizer. Unit is in AMAZING condition. It is in mint condition other than one tiny ding on the upper corner of the left side wood piece (as seen in picture 5), and a little mark left from a sticker or something (also seen in picture). Unit works 100%. All knobs and switches are 100% functional. Comes with Manual and Original Box! Don’t miss out on this one. This unit is immaculate. ” Link

“Just had the keyboard brushings replaced. Keyboard works like new. Super nice shape. Very nice sound. No issues!!! It has a very nice professional mod, with no physical changes to the unit. A continuous sweep on the octave knobs instead of a 4 step switch, which allows higher and lower frequencies than normal. I will include a set up octave switches. A very unique pro one, with a very normal OR very unique sound.” Link

“Up for grabs in this listing is a superb example of the awesome Sequential Circuits Pro One vintage analogue mono-synth.

The synth is fully functional and in perfect working condition. Original wood also in excellent condition. It has been in my possession for almost 20 years and has only been used in my studio.” Link

“Up for grabs in this listing is this superb example Sequential Circuits Pro One vintage analogue mono synth complete with the original box and packaging…….serial number 100-1979 ……so it’s one of the good early Pro One synths, just after the very early models which had power supply issues.

This Pro One has just come back from the technicians workshop having undergone a full health check. It had a problem with hanging notes. The problem was traced to poor connections on the Gate switch. All the switch contacts have now been cleaned and all tested perfect. A copy of the engineers report will be included in the auction.

This one has been kept in superb condition and even though it’s been used, you’d struggle to notice when you look at it. The internals are perfect and the cosmetic appearance is excellent. Under a microscope you may notice a tiny blemish here and there but all in all, this synth is perfect. There’s no scratches, no dents, no cracked keys, no ciggie burns, the wood is great. It has been kept in its original box and packaging all its life when it’s not being used and this shows.” Link
