Programmable Polyphonic Synthesizer
with MIDI (Miditec MK6)
This versatile 5 octaves (61 keys) synthesizer offers a wide range of sounds and enormous ease of use.
The MIDI kit comes from MIDITEC (Canadian company authorized by Korg)
It presents In, Out, and Thru ports. Not all the Korg Polysix with Midi Kit have a Thru port – This allows daisy chain instead of having the Polysix as a final unit.” Link
“This synth is in great shape. Everything works as it should. The program buttons stick a bit, but work fine. There is a sticker on the rear of the keyboard, as you can see in the pictures.” Link
“Korg Polysix analog synthesizer, very nice condition with only minor scratches and scuffs, fully-functional. Six-voice polyphonic synth from 1981, with very cool arpeggiator and chorus/phase/ensemble effects. Unlike most polyphonic analog synths, the Polysix uses real VCOs, rather than digitally-controlled oscillators (DCOs), and it sounds warm and fat. In Unison mode, you can stack all six voices for a HUGE monophonic sound.
This one has been refurbished, with the original battery replaced with a non-leakable Lithium battery. It has also been tuned and calibrated, with the original factory patches reloaded. I’d say cosmetically, it’s a 7.5 out of 10, very nice for a 30-year-old keyboard. The auction includes the keyboard only; the stand pictured is not included.” Link
“HERE WE HAVE IN FABULOUS CONDITION A RARE KORG POLYSIX SYNTH
COMPLETE WITH LEATHER GIG BAG.
ITS IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER ,AND HAS JUST RECENTLY HAD THE BATTERY CHANGED BY AN QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.
BATTERY WAS CHANGED BECAUSE OF THE WELL KNOWN BATTERY PROBLEM THAT THESE CAN HAVE ,BUT THIS ONE WAS LUCKY THAT WE CAUGHT IT JUST AT THE BEGINING OF THE LEAK.SO NO BOARD DAMAGE.” Link
“Zu verschenken (nur Versandkosten):
Korg Polysix – defekt – beim Einschalten leuchten alle 4 Bank LEDs A,B,C,D und es ist kein Ton zu hoeren.
Wenn sich keiner erbarmt kommt das Ding naehchste Woche zum Sperrmuell. Schade eigentlich hat mal 6000 Mark, gebraucht gekostet und ganz gut geklungen (damals). Ich hoffe jemand kann die Ersatzteile brauchen.” Link
“Nice condition, comes from my own studio, non smoker. I have tested it and to me it seems all ok, all the keys work etc. but as I am no specialist I sell it as non functional.
One function key is loose (see pictures) but the function is there” Link
“Korg Polysix with midi upgrade, battery has been replace and the synth is fully working. Tuning is good and the synth sounds great, wonderful filters. It has wear on the wood ends but the synth is still in good condition on the face and one could always have the wood restored if they wanted. It’s a great synth and these polysixs have been going up in value so get a good working one with midi while you still can! ” Link
“You are bidding on a Korg Polysix Vintage Analog Synthesizer with 6 note Polyphony. This particular Polysix is in exceptional condition, the keyboard action is awesome, and there are no operational issues. I am the second owner and have enjoyed and cared for this synth since 1996. It has not been gigged and has been lightly used since 1996. I am reluctantly selling my Polysix to make room for my family and raise some funds for moving expenses.
The original memory board (required to store and recall patches) was replaced about 5 years ago. The replacement memory board was designed by Scott Rider (aka Old Crow), and it uses a non-leaky coin battery. When the coin battery dies it may be replaced without any soldering – there’s a battery holster mounted on the circuit board. More importantly, the coin battery wont leak and ruin the circuit board when it dies/ages. This is a significant selling point and mitigates risk for future maintenance – leaky batteries have killed many Polysixes. No other maintenance has been necessary with this synth.
The included case is a perfect fit for the Polysix and was purchased by the original owner when the synth was new. However, as illustrated, much of the foam is worn and should be replaced. When I pack the synth I will wrap it in thoroughly in plastic to avoid shedding foam dust from getting on the synth. ” Link
“Up for auction, Korg Polysix. In 100% working condition, battery has been replaced and very clean overall. Very nice machine.” Link
“Korg Polysix in generally very condition for its age with a few marks, the wood end cheeks have been damaged a bit but that’s very common for Poly Sixes. .Look at the pictures which show the condition better than I can describe it. Serviced and calibrated by me . Fully working. Has a new lithium replacement battery so no worries about leakage.
Great sounding synth, much fatter than a Juno 106. uses SSM chips ,real VCOs and does a very good Prophet 5 imitation, Probably the best of the budget analogue polysynths. Like all VCO based synths it need 5-10 minutes to warm up when cold – after that tuning stability is fine. Incidentally this is not the same Poly six as the one I sold last week. You might want to look at the kind feedback the nice lady from Spain left me for that poly 6.” Link
“Up for bid is a vintage Korg Polysix in really beautiful condition. It has had recent service to ensure that the battery does not leak and cause damage to the circuit board, which was a classic problem for this synth, as well as any other issues that the keyboard had at the time. This is an early 80′s analog synthesiser with one of the best arpeggiators ever. Wicked. It’s a great synth for warm pads and ripping leads. It makes all the virtual synths sound wimpy and weak. The wood side panels are in great shape too! Comes with full maual copy and schematics. This unit works perfectly, and works intuitively and easily to create killer sounds. ” Link
“Was victim of the typical “leaky battery syndrome” that plagues these synths, but my tech @ Audio Electronics in Dallas re-traced the PCB leads and also replaced one of the filter IC’s” Link
“Korg polysix in very good condition for its age with a few minor marks(see pictures) serviced and calibrated by me . Fully working. Has a new lithium replacement battery so no worries about leakage.” Link
“KORG POLYSIX VINTAGE ANAOLOGUE SYNTHESIZER
NEEDS REPAIR OR WORK
I bought this Polysix new at Strings and Things in Memphis TN. It was used sparingly and put in storage for past 15 years. When I got it out of storage, the sounds are not as they should be and response to controls is not correct. It needs work or repair or can be used worst case scenario for parts. The appearance of this board is very good as you can see in the picture, so you might want to use another one for parts to repair this one, if that’s what is needed. The top has never been off this keyboard. Sold as is.
It comes with the instruction manual and cassette tape of factory load sounds that came with this keyboard new. The cassette tape has never been used and is still in the plastic sleeve it came in.” Link

“Working 100% (all knobs, keys, switches, LED’s) & new battery fitted. Full service undertaken 2009, keyboard contacts cleaned July this year. Flight case included. Original factory presets loaded. Collection welcome, but can ship UK or World wide (International shipment at cost – price indicated is an estimate – unit is heavy – approx 30 Kgs).” Link
“ou are bidding on a
Korg Polysix vintage analog synth with road case and sound guide.
Sounds are savable with old cassette tape recorder. Cutting edge tech at that time. Very rare board,
there were no other ones available at the time of this listing.
I have owned it for 17 years and it really hurts to sell it, but I have no time to enjoy it any more.
Every function works. It has very little playing hours on it. Sounds incredible. It never gets played any
more. there are a few dings and scratches, but overall good condition. There is a cig burn on a few keys(see pics) it was there when I got the keyboard years ago, you can get replacement keys on Ebay cheaply. Once every few years I’ll take it out for a while.
Sometimes when these sit for a while, a few of the key contacts will be intermitant. I have had all the contacts cleaned
a few times over the years but it probably needs it again.
%100 feedback so bid with confidense.” Link
“Up for auction is a vintage Korg Polysix. It powers up and makes some random noise but that’s about it. I purchased it with the intention of replacing the battery and fixing it up but I just don’t have enough spare time to make it happern These keyboards sound amazing. Buy this one at a fraction of the cost of a fully functioning unit and spend your summer soldering circuit boards! Come winter you’ll have one of the coolest analog keyboards around and everybody else will just be that much closer to getting skin cancer.” Link
“For auction is my Korg Poly 6. About a year ago I went through and cleaned the synth through out. Cleaning contacts and the what not. The only thing this synth needs is a new battery. The old battery was removed by the previous owner, so there is no worry of any further leakage from the battery. The current leakage is minimal, and the one or two bad traces have already been jumped. Even without the battery this synth sounds fantastic. It can even hold a sound in storage a short period of time while plugged in.
At one point I had the battery for it, but have since misplaced it.
When I first got this board a number of keys would not trigger, and a few were broken. I replaced the broken keys. and cleaned the contacts. All keys now trigger, although some may need some extra contact cleaning in the future. This board was totally stripped and cleaned. Cosmetically I’d give it a 7 out of 10.” Link
“My Korg PolySix is for sale. This is a GREAT synth in GREAT condition. It was fully serviced last year so everything works and internal battery has been changed. All pots and keys works and feels good to play.
Cosmetically in good condition as well. Few tiny scratches, but one main on the programmer section, check the pictures (the flash brings out the scratch so looks worse in the picture then in real life..)
Wood on the side is almost perfect with a couple of dents (check picture as well)” Link
Does work, but some pots scratchy, some presets don’t work and some knobs/buttons missing.
Hence listing as Not Working/For Parts.
It worked perfectly last year (and sounded Fantastic!!) but I left it under my bed and I think the dust has got to it.
When I bought it I was told the internal battery had been replaced with a modern one but I can’t verify this.
It seems to have the Kenton Retrofit Midi Kit (see pics) but this I have never tested.” Link
“KORG POLY 6 ANALOGUE SYNTHESIZER WITH MIDI!!
The end of one key has broken off! recently, and i cant find it to glue it back on – its in my car somewhere – i will look for it!! but, for the purposes of this auction, i had better advertise it with the broken key.
Also – some of the keys, you have to hit hard to get the note – they all work – and they just need the contacts cleaned. – Wont matter if you play via midi.
It has had a retrofit, Which works. It works in omno mode so will play, when any channel is received. There is a switch on the back, alongside pressing the top 16 keys – you can go onto poly mode and select a channel – but i have forgotten the combinations!
Generally it is in nice condition. Its a fantastic synth – i have to sell it due to a major downsize!! Get some analogue while its still affordable!!!” Link
“Powers up,but no sound. If you own one of these, this might be useful for parts.” Link
“I am selling my Korg Polysix analog synthesizer. It is currently not working, and I am fairly sure that the battery is to blame. Prior to when it stopped working, all buttons and keys worked and the synth played fine. As-is with no returns accepted.” Link
“You are bidding on the Legendary Korg Polysix Keyboard Synthesizer–One of the All-Time Classic Keyboards, Van Halen, Rush, and Europe used this for their trademark 1980′s sound–This Keyboard has a great array of knobs (22), 28 swithches–two bending controls–tape in tape out-headphone-output– for incredible variability of sound–no missing parts–no broken anything at all–potentiometers are in top-notch shape.
Excellent Excellent potential of tone spectrum
cosmetic condition is very good
61 keys
Keys need repadding as is very common with the Polysix.” Link
“THIS AUCTION IS FOR a Nice KORG POLYSIX “Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer
I sell this item for my costumer
The synthetizer is sold as in working condition ( Have a new battery)
Cosmetic condition is good with minor detail nothing bad ” Link
“A knob for everything and no menus! This is the way analog should be, and Korg did it right back in 1981. Nice phaser/chorus too.” Link
“Re listed- Please only GENUINE bidders thanks
SUPER AMAZINGLY RARE VINTAGE KORG POLYSIX (slightly faulty)
I have owned this unit for about 15 years, we have seen some good times together, the unit sounds tuff, and it’s got a fat sound and has been a rich source of samples over the years and it’s also seen a few live gigs too.
My favourite functions are the appreciator and effects, great analogue sound. I always would have liked to connect it to my favourite sequencer but sadly it is not MIDI compatible.
In not switching the old girl on for about 1 year I was not surprised to find my KORG POLYSIX was now either demon possessed or was, (more likely) ever so slightly malfunctioning. The battery was replaced in the late 90′s but may need replacing again.
Here is a list of what I found doesn’t work, everything else works really well:
Some keys work intermittently.
Sub octave only give you 1 of 2 sub octaves.
MOD is stuck on VCF regardless of what you select.
Arpeggio is missing octave in Poly, but OK in Unison.
Program has never worked.
I have no idea about the banks & other stuff on the back, don’t ask .
intermittent low frequency noise
I get the feeling that someone who knows a thing or two about analogue synthesizers would like this one and fully functioning would be worth quite a bit.” Link
“Korg Polysix KLM- 368. This board has been tested and is fully functional. Comes with all of the buttons and knob along with proper mounting hardware. This will be properly wrapped in an anti-static bag upon shipping.” Link
“This is an original Korg Polysix up for auction.
It is not in proper working condition because I tried to use it and it only made a funny noise when it was plugged into a head set.
There are also some buttons missing (please review pics).” Link
“Korg Polysix. Physically in good condition and worked when I last used it 10 years ago! Now doesn’t work properly, but someone good with these things should be able to fix it. Just looking for a good home for this – money goes to charity.” Link
“HELLO EVERYONE!!!! I AM SELLING A KORG POLY6 SYNTHERESIZER……It does work, but I am confident it may need a new battery and a some mild repairs. The lowest bass key needs to be re-adjusted and the board inside needs to be cleaned out. The physical look of it is in good condition! I have kept it in a non smoke studio for 3 years. Well taken care of. ” Link
“Up for sale is a very clean Korg Polysix. She’s an oldy but a goody analog six-voice polyphonic synthesizer.
This is a classic analog poly-synth that has been well-preserved and taken care of over the years. Synth is 100% fully functional and ready to pump out some sweet sounds. Battery was changed to a newer lithium coin-type cell two weeks ago. Key contact pads also recently cleaned. All keys work and feel good. Wooden side panels have some light scratches, but all-around beautiful cosmetics. Overall this is a beautiful synthesizer, inside and out.” Link

Einige Drehpotis knarzen.
Drucktaster To Tape und Chord Memory fehlen.
Wie zu sehen ist, haben die Seitenteile als auch das Tastenblech einige Gebrauchsspuren.
Der Polysix wird im passenden Aluminium Koffer geliefert.

“korg polysix analog synth W/ MIDI KIT (!!) for parts or repair.
last time i checked, it would power on but make no sound. it’s complete except for two missing keys and the wooden ends are a bit ratty. the cool thing about this synth is that it has a MIDI KIT INSTALLED. it provides for out/thru/in, so it’s the real deal. the last photo is of the midi board.” Link
“Very clean KORG POLYSIX analog six-voice polyphonic synthesizer. Serial #: 385xxx (early 80′s). 117v N. American model.
This a very well-preserved example of a classic polysynth. 100% functional and sounding very good. Battery was changed about 5 years ago. Keyboard bushings feel quite good. Some small scuffs and scrapes but overall beautiful cosmetics. Wooden side panels have some light scratches and the bass side corner has a hairline crack in the faux-wood veneer (see pic 12).
The PolySix is a powerful vintage polysynth with a warmer quality than most Japanese synths from this period. SSM chips, patch memory and layout are similar to the Prophet V. ” Link
“This is a Old Bad A** Korg PolySix Synth Keyboard
Its been in storage for who knows how long , it gottin banged up over the years
the wood as you can see in pics is not in the best shape but doesn’t really effect anything.
There are scratches thru out and one nob is broke in the VCF section , there is also a broken key ( damn )
It powers up fine and some what plays ok , all i had where head phones to test. I just sold a awsome amp i could of used about now. lol
It may need a professional cleaning for conections to all work perfect.” Link
“KORG Polysix vintage analog synthesizer
The condition on this is a bit complicated, but here goes: it works only partially, an octave right in the middle works perfectly, but beyond that the keys are intermittent, sometimes working, sometimes not. One key (highest G#) is broken although still clinging on. All the knobs and switches seem to work, I’ve made some groovy sounds and got the arpeggiator humming along, synced a vintage analog drum machine to it by plugging into the “trigger in” jack, great fun. Cosmetically there is some minor edge wear, a few marks here and there, and it could probably use a little cleaning but nothing major. The internal battery is dead and corroded (ouch), and seems to have corroded some of the traces on the board (see photo). This can be fixed, will take about a full day of work to do it but does not seem to be difficult (I read through the instructions online, easy enough to find, if you need them I can send the link), you have to disassemble part of the board, remove the battery and replace it with a modern version, and solder in new wire in place of traces that have gone bad– it’s involved but not confusing, as long as you can use a soldering gun you can handle it.
So, it works, but not perfectly, and should be considered either a cheap analog synth with only one octave available, and/or a project suitable for the beginner. Certainly at some point the battery should be removed and that area cleaned up. This might be your cheapest option for a cool vintage analog synthesizer. These were one of the last of the truly great analog synths before digital took over– all the knobs are there for you to twiddle, plus it is polyphonic and can store your sounds, great fat leads, warm symphonic washes, piercing metallic whines, Tangerine-Dream-style arpeggios, etc. These can also be refitted with a MIDI port (although this one does not have a MIDI port).
Comes with a copy of the users manual and various presets (“vocal chorus” and “trumpet” and “metallic chime” and such.) ” Link
“The fantastic Korg Polisix 1981 working, bad but working, the are no more there…” Link
“Korg PolySix with MIDI installed and Roadcase!
Awesome condition! It pains me to sell this, but I’m running out of room.
This synth is a cracker, great condition. There is one small scratch above the “verify” button, but apart from that, it is in great / super condition, even the wood sides are not messed up like every other PolySix I’ve seen.
I replaced the Ni-Cad battery and moved it OFF the PCB’s.. so in X years time, when the battery dies, it won’t take out your PolySix.
This was Korgs last true VCO synth, and uses SSM filters = MEATY.
It certainly sounds a bit like a prophet5 and is often called a ‘poor mans Prophet’.
Sonically, it’s very chunky, warm & Juicy sounding.. and it owns over Juno60′s & Juno106′s.. no comparison.
It’s has a cool arpeggiator with external clock, and does an insane unison, which stacks all 6 voices, but detunes then slightly, which sounds big.
It also has a chord latch feature, that lets you stack notes / chords, you can even arpeggiate the latched chord.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=korg+polysix&search_type=&aq=f
The built in FX are very cool, with chorus , phaser and ensemble, which is great for mellotron like strings.
The Midi retrofit is basic, but handy, with only note on / off reception. It is currently set to receive on channel 6 (Of course)
Pickup from Sydney / Randwick area, but if pressed, I could drop it off to Pack n Send for transport once the buyer has arranged for this.” Link

“This listing is for a Korg Polysix vintage analog synthesizer w/ MIDI. The unit is 100% functional and is in nice cosmetic shape as well. The battery has been replaced and everything was just tuned up and cleaned. Well maintained and lightly used in a smoke free studio.” Link
“This Polysix is not only in abnormally nice shape cosmetically (manuals are in ok shape but HEY the patch sheets included in this one too! Don’t see those every day. ) but it’s been totally restored (all weak traces patched in battery area on cpu board, contacts checked and panel switches cleaned AND…. new key contacts! )
As many of you know the panasonic built keyboards in these and other Korgs of those years as well as the Memorymoog, Oberheim OB-8 and others, suffer from contact failure at this age. So it’s very hard to find a really reliable polysix out there. Every contact on this one has a new surface made out of a conductive material that can only be gotten with a military contract. This stuff is AMAZING. Very tough. Under .002″ thick. And the surface reads on my probes about what a new good contact reads! But the material looks more robust than the original. So far great results with it and if a contact ever becomes a problem they can be changed very simply. ( I used to spend hours trying to recondition the original contacts in a polysix. I finally ran into some that just would note get better with the treatments that usually worked. So we developed this solution.)
If you’ve never played with an all analog machine with arpeggiator it’s really..really fun. Machines without the analog envelop generators just aren’t as fun. You’ll see what I mean if you’ve never done it. The polysix is so great though because the vco’s are stable! It doesn’t usually need tuning so they didn’t put auto tune on it. They are just the right amount of variation to give that analog drift that creates a dynamic in the sound. But not so much that you can say ‘hey that note is out of tune!’
Really great machines in that way.” Link
“Up for auction, Korg Polysix, in very nice cosmetic condition. The synth had a battery leakage and needs repair, or you can use it for parts. I had a go at it and repaired most of the traces, the synth turns on, but all the programs lights stay on and no sounds comes out of it.
This synth will be suitable for a project enthusiast or someone with more knowledge in electronics and more time in their hands. Works on 100v.” Link
“Up for auction a vintage analog Korg Poly-800 Analog Synthesizer with AC Adapter and / Original Manual and Sales Brochure are included.
Manufactured by – Korg
Dates – available for purchase – 1983 – 1987
Price in ’83 – $795
Its initial list price of $795 made it the first fully programmable synthesizer that sold for less than $1000. This polyphonic (8 voices), programmable Analog synthesizer featured a 49-note (C-C) non-velocity keyboard, MIDI, one DCO per voice, a single VCF, three six-segment envelope generators (one for each group of 4 oscillators, two buttons for data entry, and a joystick controller, which can modulate the DCO pitch or the VCF. Layer both banks of oscillators for much better (fatter) sounds. The Poly 800 also features a simple 256-event step-time sequencer and a simple chorus.
It will run on battery power (Six “C” Batteries), and two strap buttons, which, combined with its light weight, makes it a truly strap-on synth. (Sorry the strap buttons are missing, but can be purchased on-line)
***************************************************************************************************************************
I used this synth for professional work. It has great rich retro Analog sounds and can even be used as a “Bass Keyboard”.
I have included a 9 Volt adapter with the unit.” Link

“Up for sale is my Korg Polysix. Every button, switch, knob, keys, input and output works on this keyboard. I have replaced the original battery about 1 year ago with a rechargeable battery pack as seen in the pictures and also cleaned all the key contacts at the same time. I have the original Polysix cassette, instruction manual and programming manual as well. The lit purple strip you see is EL tape that I added – I think it looks pretty cool but you can easily remove it if you want to. The only reason I’m selling is because I need the money otherwise I’d be keeping it as it can only go up in value! I’ve taken many pictures of it for you and even added a small video to show you that all the program and bank buttons work (these wouldn’t be working if there was a problem with corrosion on the board inside).” Link
