Link

“For sale is a Korg Polysix vintage analog synthesizer. This synth is fully functional and in excellent cosmetic shape, even the fake “wood” is looking great, which is a rare thing for these old keyboards! Only some very light peeling/flaking around the sides corners. The battery issue has been taken care of, so there is no worries there. The only issue I noticed is the front rubber feet are removed so it could sit more easily on my keyboard stand. A simple trip to a hardware store for parts and you can have a replacement pair screwed in if you feel you need them. This is a great sounding synth, beautiful six voices or stacked for thick mono. Cool features like patch memory, arpeggio, chord memory and built in chorus/phaser/ensemble. An awesome sounding synth all around.” Link

” Beautiful Korg Polysix classic analogue synthesizer.

This synth was fully serviced by James Walker of Synth Repair Services in November 2011. (I can provide receipt for this work on request)

You will receive a fully functioning Korg Polysix with no leaking battery timebomb. James replaced the old battery with a safe modern equivalent.

Cosmetic condition is great apart from some small scratches near the memory buttons and some slight wear on the corners of the “wooden” side cheeks. These are visible in the photos.” Link

” Link

Unfortunately, it does not operate correctly.

Powers on, lights up, but only makes a squealing sound on occasion.

Pretty decent cosmetic condition. Battery did show some minor leakage which has been cleaned away with dry brush and contact cleaner.

All wires and components intact. All knobs and switches are intact. Keys are in good condition.” Link

“You are looking at a recently serviced korg polysix in good condition for it’s age. It just had the battery replaced and the boards cleaned. Everything was tuned and calibrated by a professional and the paperwork to verify it. As you can see in the pictures, there are a few chips less than an inch on the side panels, but they are not bad, especially when compared to the way some of these polysix’s are taken care of. It comes with a case that is in fair condition, it uses straps and fits the board snug to keep it from moving around at all. It has wheels on the case and a padded inside that is aged but doesn’t have disintegrating padding. All the factory presets are loaded with a few that have had adjustments made. The internals and sound of the keyboard work perfectly. The only thing I have noticed is the rate for the arpeggiator is a little touchy, it does work, it just may need some contact cleaner to remedy the problem. I am just trying to list any little thing I’ve noticed, as I don’t appreciate it when an analog synth is not listed as it truly is. So to sum it up, very clean, just a few very small chips in the side panels, and the arp rate works, but is a little touchy. Very good condition for a synth thats 30 years old. I have kept an eye on these for the past year, and have watched them steadily go up in price, despite a less than stellar economy. Trying to find a serviced polysix that has been recently checked out is getting rare, and if it’s not stated in the description, you can expect the battery leakage problem and damage to the board. Save yourself the hassle and know that you are getting a clean polysix. ” Link

“This keyboard powers up and plays. Every key makes contact and makes a sound except the 4th Eb does neither. Many of the functions are not responding accurately so I’m listing it As Is (listed for parts and not working). It does make sound and every key but one is responding so I believe it could be restored to working order. There is also a spot on the upper right hand side by the power button that looks like something corrosive got on the outer casing. I’ve included a picture of this spot.” Link

The keyboard, face and controls are in very good shape for it’s age, the cabinet was painted black at one time and has some rough spots as you can see in the pictures. A little history: I traded my babied Korg CX3 for this and became the second owner in 1984 and was darn happy to do it as I couldn’t afford the Jupiter 8 (or even lunch as I recall!) It was modified slightly, adding a detachable A/C and a balanced output. I gigged it for several years and then put it away. Of course I loved it and it performed flawlessly for me and worked normally when it went into storage about 1989. I just pulled it out, cleaned it up and discovered it doesn’t work any more : ( Great for a rebuild project or parts!” Link

Other than the odd scratch here and there it looks and is brand new although does not have the box or the manual.

“This is a 100% perfectly working Korg Polysix that is in great condition and comes with a few special bonuses. It has been professionally calibrated and also has NO warm up time. Once you turn it on, its in tune and ready to go. This Korg Polysix has been to the Czech Republic twice for modification to be performed. The first time it was sent out, the battery was replaced, the polysix was recalibrated, and all of the ORIGINAL IC chips were taken out, tested, and reinstalled in serviceable sockets. This makes swapping out bad chips in the future VERY easy with no soldering involved and no risk of damaging the board. The second time this Polysix was sent to the Czech Republic, a Midi In kit was installed and all of the original factory presets were installed in the machine. Take a look at my video of this synthesizer to hear the factory sounds. I’m pretty sure you will be amazed at how awesome and varied the sounds are in the presets. I have owned a few other times in the past. Tweaking these presets is has gotten me to places I have never been to before with this synth. ” Link

” For sale is a Korg PolySix analog Synthesizer from the early 80′s. It is in 100% working conditon and has recently been serviced. The KLM-367 board has been completely replaced with a newly manufactured board so you will not have any battery related issues whatsoever that commonly plague the PolySix. All of the key contacts have been painted with conductive material to give them new life and prevent dead notes from occurring. The synth has been tuned and calibrated.

Included with this synth is a factory PolySix MIDI retrofit kit but this synth DOES NOT HAVE MIDI INSTALLED. The kit was taken out because I could not find documentation on it to test it or replace the EPROMS. When I first opened up the synth, the EPROMS had wiggled their way out of their sockets and I presumed the kit to be dead or damaged, so I left the kit out of the restoration to avoid complications. There are several kits on the market right now that could probably do a better job than this kit anyway. Nevertheless, this kit is included in the sale. If you are planning on installing this kit, I suggest that you consider making some modifications to the power supply to handle the extra current that will be needed. Korg had a really sketchy power supply boosting work around that I reversed because it appeared to be bypassing some of the power supply filtering to accommodate the extra current needed for the kit.” Link

“This is an auction is for a Korg Polysix Synthesizer.

I am not an expert on this keyboard. Recently took this keyboard on trade.

Plugged it in and all of the keys work.

On the left as in picture3 all the knobs, modulation wheel, and bending wheel all work.

Some of the bottoms on the right as seen in picture 2 are not working. I am not sure if this needs to be reprogrammed.

The to tape, error/cancel, and loading/write buttons are always on.

Some of the program buttons work and some do not.

Keyboard has tape residue, scratches and wear.

“This is a brand-new replacement CPU board for the Korg Polysix, KLM-367A. If you are reading this listing, you are probably well aware of the Korg Polysix battery leakage issue, which in a worst-case scenario can make the original processor board irreparable. The circuit board in this listing is one of the excellent KLM-367A clones available from Jed Jorgensen. An online search should direct you to Jed’s site for more info. Ebay has made it nearly impossible to add a link of any sort, sorry.

This is a premium build, with every chip mounted in machined-pin sockets, all-new electrolytic capacitors, instead of ceramic capacitors poly or silver-mica caps are used instead, and multi-turn cermet trimpots. In every instance possible, the chips and other rare components from the original CPU were transferred to the new board. Assembling the board was labor-intensive. EVERY recycled part from the old board had to be tested (I mean, it just wouldn’t do to put any parts that were killed by the battery damage on the new board!), and the board has approximately 870 holes to fill with parts, and nearly that many pins had to be unsoldered from the original board. The third photo shows the process near the beginning, and the last photo shows the job complete. The board was then installed and calibrated to factory specs.

Installation: (If you are not comfortable with electronics, PLEASE get a qualified tech to install this) Back up your patch data, it will be lost during this process and need to be reloaded when done! You will need to unplug and remove the old board first (duh!). Be careful unplugging the cables, most of the connectors have been glued in at the factory, and the glue seal will need to be broken. Carefully unplug the processor chip from the original board, taking care to not bend any pins, and plug it into the new board. IMPORTANT: Do not forget to do this, the processor chip itself is the only piece you need from your original board, and is NOT included in this auction! Screw the new board into place. ALSO IMPORTANT: There will be a thick black ground wire going from the control panel to a ground point on the original board. This is the only wire that needs to be soldered, and it must be done. The grounding point is already prepared with solder to make this easy. Install the battery (included!), Plug all the cables into their correct sockets (nearly impossible to mess this up!), close the hood and play! There is no need to calibrate this board, it has already been done for you, and a different processor chip will not matter.” Link

“You are bidding on a Vintage Korg PolySix Analog Synthesizer Synth Keyboard. I have lots of photos below, so be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this page to take a better look. This nice vintage Korg PolySix analog synthesizer is in very nice cosmetic condition, showing a few minor areas with some whitish spots, but this is pretty minor and the synth shows very little normal wear, so it’s obviously been very well cared for over all these years. I’m no synth expert, but the unit powers up as it should, with the lights lighting, and all the keys working and triggering sounds, and when messing with the VFO and various other knobs, I can alter the sounds to make all manner of beeps and buzzes, with a good, loud output. The arpeggiator, the note bending wheel, the wheel next to the note bending wheel (seems to alter the sound purity of the sound) and the effects (Chorus and such) are all tested and working as they should be, so I can guarantee most of the keyboard is working as it should be and sounding great, but I have no way to test every possible function, so I can only guarantee the keyboard to be functioning as I have described above.” Link

Link

“For sale restored Korg PolySix, I have faithfully restored this P6 to include new KLM367 board with all new components except for CPU, clock, test points and Molex Adapters. I have also recoated all the key contacts to ensure years more of play time. It has been calibrated and some patches from the P6 user group loaded. The entire wood case is replaced with solid oak, walnut stain and high gloss varnish, base is high grade plywood painted black. I cleaned the control surface and keys, but with the age there are several small scratches from use which is normal. Please take your time and review the pictures and video. All electronic functionality is in excellent shape. Remember with analog synths they need to be on for a bit to warm up the electronics in order to be stable. The switching into part 6 and 7 takes a second when cold but once warmed up they switch as other bank parts, watch video as I go through all of this synth’s functionality. This is a beautiful synth, now with many more years of life through the restoration. ” Link

“Korg Poly Six

NOT WORKING HAS ISSUES…..

I made a restoration on this Synth about 3 years ago and had it completely working.

The battery notorious for leaking had corroded traces on the board (klm367). This was repaired by jumpering the
bad traces with tiny wires soldered to the underside of the board. The battery fix was done replacing the dead batt. with a coin cell type.
The bank and program switches were replaced. The keybed was removed and all the contacts cleaned. The factory patches were loaded and I enjoyed the machine.

Now it has returned to the land of the near dead.

None of the keys will trigger, may be the contacts are in need of another cleaning ?.
Several bank and program leds light up simultaneously, a sure sign of more problems with the klm 367 or switches.
This machine has received all the attention it is going to get from me aside from packing it up…

This unit is being sold PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY……. AS IS as is…..
Included is a bare non-populated replacement klm 367 board, and a cd with the user manual, service manual, and factory sounds ( copy of the cassette tape in wav format)

You will have to be very good with electronics to fix this machine. I would only buy this for parts, or if you were in the groove of other polysix owners who make it a hobby to re-build these machines. There is a polysix family on the internet that share in the klm 367 rebuilds.” Link

“I’m selling my Korg Polysix analog synthesizer. It is in very good shape functionally. A midi kit has been installed allowing for midi in. The battery has been replaced and a battery holder added as well. The knobs have all been serviced recently and there is no scratchiness or static while tweaking. (see video). All buttons, knobs and switches are fully functional as well as the pitch bend and mod wheel. The outputs are clear and and sound great. All key contacts are responsive. The corners on the back bottom edges of the particleboard sides are ugly, if I were keeping this I would replace the sides with real wood. (see pics) There are minor signs of wear on the keys and frontplate.” Link

“Korg Polysix Vintage Analogue Synthesizer

Just fitted with Kenton MIDI Retrofit (with 11 months left to run on warranty).

Serviced under a year ago by Kent Spong (Kent Spong Restorations – one of the UK’s best synth techs).

Thanks for looking at my Korg Polysix, reluctantly being sold due to lack of space and unforseen repair expenses on my house and car.

I purchased this Polysix in good condition two years ago, had it serviced by Kent Spong under a year ago and have just had it fitted with the Kenton MIDI retrofit (cost £480). The MIDI is working marvellously.

Cosmetically she’s in reasonably good condition for a 25+ year old synth. The most obvious flaws are a scatch under the memory buttons, a mark under the pitch/mod wheels and a small chip on one of the keys. The wooden side panels have a few marks here and there as you’d expect (see photos) but are basically fine. She’s playing beautifully – all keys are triggering fine (including working well over MIDI) and there’s no history of battery leaks or probs with the battery (as you find in lots of Polysixes).

If you’ve not played a Polysix before you’re in for a treat. Arguably one of the most underestimated analogue polysynths of all time. The polysix uses genuine VCOs (based on those from the legendary Trident) and the legendary SSM 2044 Filter chip (found in early Prophet 5s) for an exceptionally warm organic analogue sound. Experts say the filter is the closest to a Moog 24db filter you will find outside a Moog. This is no Juno – I owned a Juno 106 (which uses DCOs) and the Polysix is devastatingly better. The filter is enormous and the sound is much closer to the American Oberheim/Sequential sound than a Juno (in my opinion).

I don’t have a manual for the synth but I will include the Manual for the Kenton Retrofit and the Invoice (dated 7 June 2011) so you can claim under the warranty if you have any problems with the MIDI.” Link

“Hello and welcome to my auction. You are bidding on a Vintage Korg Polysix Analog Synthesizer with Soft zipper case which is lined with thick foam padding. Also the Original Owners Manual and Setting Charts Book with original factory Sound Patches cassette tape. I purchased the Korg at an Estate sale and do not know if it is working correctly. The cosmetic condition looks really nice and clean, one key was glued and is strong, the right rear corner has a strip of veneer missing. The unit powers up and you can get sounds out of it when you put the tape enable switch to the disable position and press on the keys. Lights work on some switches.Serial number is #385311″ Link

“This is a Korg Polysix. It has battery leakage in it and I dont know what to do to fix it. I sprayed contact cleaner on the area but it didnt help. The keyboard worked for about 2 minutes when I first got it back out but not all the notes would play. The patch memory was working (although i didnt try saving new patches). After a couple of minutes I never got anymore sound out of it and the patch memory stopped doing anything. I think, for starters it needs a new battery and then I dont know after that. Cosmetically the keyboard looks really nice, except there are some dings in the wood sides. Please pay attention, the keyboard is BROKEN. It is being sold as is and is priced for a quick sale” Link
