“This Poly-800 is in excellent working condition. Pretty nice cosmetically as well – the only thing missing on it is the rubber tip of the joy-stick on the left, which has no effect on functionality whatsoever. I’ve used it on quite a few recordings with excellent results.

it is in good working order There is a slight mark on the right hand side of the body (see photo) It will need repograming either by loading the sounds manualy using the original preload program list suplied or from the original casette (suplied) There is also the original 1983 owners manual which has 42 pages telling you all the functions and operations
Also included is the original Korg Poly 800 padded case which is in good condition with a full length zip and front storrage pocket, on the inside there is a little deteriation with the foam behind the pvc cover but is expected with it being 30 years old ” Link
“Korg Poly 800 Vintage synth. Comes with original Korg power supply. Works great and sounds like an 80′s vintage synth. Memory is protected by a basic CR2032 Battery which is soldered in place on mainboard. In the future, replacing it may require solder skills although i have installed the removable type of battery clip like a pc motherboard has. Many people modify these synths with “Moogslayer mods” etc…I have a great soundset loaded from Strellis.com a great resource for these boards. Different soundsets can be loaded with a wav or mp3 file from a computer, iphone, mp3 player etc

“Korg Poly 800 in good shape. The tab around the joystick is peeling but that could be fixed with some glue. It shows normal signs of wear for a synth this age. Scuffs and marks all around. Here’s the issue:
I bought this about 2 years ago. It worked fine but the previous owner had created their own sounds all with a very slow envelope. I reset the factory sounds and it played great. Then I turned it off. Problem was it wouldn’t store any newly edited sounds. So I figured it was the battery. The old battery was soldered on but in removing i, I broke the metal tabs. I decided I didn’t want to risk damaging the motherboard by soldering in the new battery. I would recommend this only for someone with good soldering skills. I can’t guarantee it will work perfectly with the new battery but it should.
Comes with the new and old battery and new battery holder. Also included is a reproduction of the manual.

“Here is a Korg Poly 800 with several mods: -An internal battery has been added – Cut Off and Resonance controls (Moog Slayer mod) – Switch for 2 pole or 4 pole filter – Noise amount control – FM control for the filter, source switchable between noise or DCO 1 So it sounds and works great. “Up for auction is a Korg Poly-800 programmable polyphonic analog synthesizer. The original owner’s manual, power supply, and cassette tape of pre-loaded sound data are all included. The synth itself is in very good condition cosmetically aside from some light scratches on the bottom and the partially missing metal plate surrounding the joystick (see picture). This does not affect the functionality of the keyboard, however; the joystick works perfectly. The only problem with this synth that will affect playability is that there are 9 keys that don’t make sound. “have been using this as a MIDI controller and in that capacity, it works fine.
I have the original cassette of the pre-programmed sounds, and a CD of the same, but have not been able to get them to load. I get a couple of patches that sound like “outer space sweeps” and that’s all. Because of this, I am selling it for parts or repair. You may have better luck, or maybe its an easy fix for someone smarter than me.
The same is true when I try to create sounds using the waveforms…nothing but a few weird squeals.
It has the original power adaptor and powers on.
I am also including the original manual and a weird multi-cable that was part of the original package.

“Vintage Korg Poly 800 Keyboard. Power is substitute. Center pin negative, fairly uncommon. 16 lb ship weight. 39x16x11. It’s going to need a special long box.
Physical Condition: I’d say Very Good overall. There appears to be a backup battery of some kind in there. I don’t know what it’s for, but assume it’s dead. It’s soldered in there and would be a project to replace.
Testing: I tested all keys with several programs, and every thing appears in order. A couple of the keys didn’t work initially, but blowing out a lot of dust and using contact cleaner got them all working. ” Link

Leider defekt (geht nicht mehr an, ein Bauteil wird heiß). Es handelt sich hier wohl um Spätfolgen einer ehemals ausgelaufenen Batterie (Batterieflüssigkeitsreste wurden seinerzeit in einer Fachwerkstatt aufwändig entfernt).
Mit optischen Gebrauchsspuren am Volumeregler und an der Stelle wo die Filterregler eingebaut worden sind, sonst dem Alter entsprechend gut.

The body of keyboard is in good condition with very little wear, but three keys could use replacing(see pictures) due to previous owner dropped cigarette on keys(see pictures) 2 white keys, 1 black key, but it is near the back part of keys so it does not affect how it plays, just affects how it looks.
