The wood is in great shape with no cracks or gouges. In the picture you can see wear in the finish in the top right corner. It’s just the finish having rubbed off, not a break or cut in the wood. There is also some spots on the front piece of wood under the keybed where the finish has been rubbed off. You could very easily refinish the wood and have it looking pristine. The keys do not appear to have yellowed at all. They look pretty close to new.

I will include a printout of the user manual and service manual (neither are originals) and I can also email you PDFs of them. It’s always good to have the manuals handy.

Functional condition: It was just serviced and works perfectly. All the black goo has been removed (this is a ubiquitous problem for Moog’s of this era) and any compromised components cleaned or replaced. All sliders were disassembled cleaned and lubed. Keybed is nice and level with even action. Glitch-y mono output jack was replaced.

Cosmetic condition: As can be seen in the pictures this is a very clean example. All correct color slider caps and knobs are present. The wood was stripped and refinished with walnut stain and 4 coats of satin finish urethane -only a few very small imperfections were too deep to sand out. The panel markings are nearly perfect with very little sign of wear from use. The keys are all bright white with no chips or repairs. The back of the panel where the output jacks are is slightly warped making me think it was dropped on the jack at some point which would explain the need to replace it as well. I was unable to get a good picture of this fault as it is so minor. I would call this a 9.5 out of 10. Due to the age of this item it is sold as-is.” Link

This item has very minimal cosmetic damage and has been restored to full working order. Most notably is a cigarette burn in the middle of key A2. This is detailed in the photos. The wood sides have been painted black.” Link

I’ve owned this for around 10 years (in which time it’s only been used indoors and with great care) but it’s been sat in storage for the past 2 years wrapped in bubble wrap and cotton cloth inside a storage box so I can’t imagine any deterioration has taken place. It’s fairly heartbreaking for me to sell this on but having downsized recently I can’t really imagine having the space or setting to use this with any real frequency any time soon.

This was imported from the US and accordingly you’ll have to pick up a voltage convertor before using it in a UK socket (if you”d prefer to rewire/convert the insides there are plenty of guides online explaining how to do so). The voltage convertors are cheap – under £10 for a low-quality one, under £20 for a good one so it’s not a significant expense in the grand scheme of things.

Frustratingly at the moment I possess neither the voltage convertor or a suitable amp to test this before sale but I can assure any potential bidder that this was in perfect working order before going into storage. However, I’m not willing to guarantee the operation of the unit given it’s been unused for 2 years so I’m technically selling this as for ‘spares or repair” and given the amount of hassle/expense involved in packing/posting I wont accept returns.” Link

In excellent condition and perfect working order however, the 2 front corner tips of the wooden end panels have taken a knock at some stage – one corner has a split and the other corner has been glued back on – see pics

I have included loads of close up and large pics so you can see for yourself that this keyboard is in great condition for it’s age (if it did bother you, I know the end panels can be replaced fairly easily!)

In terms of its condition, we are stating very clearly that this synth works perfectly and has been serviced and cared for by a highly reputable service tech guy in England. What we also want to do in total fairness is be clear about its cosmetic condition. The great news to start with is that the wood ends have been fully restored and look and feel totally incredible. They may, when you get the synth look fractionally different to those in the photos as they have been restored since the photos were taken but that can only be a good thing and I want to play this one up, the wood ends are absolutely fabulous now. Now for the not so good bit. I want to say this with complete transparency and utter clarity so that there are no time wasters out there trying to catch us out. The front panel where the controls for the synthesis are found is not good. Its cosmetic condition is just about fair and it does have scratches. We believe that the ‘buy it now’ price reflects this scratching to the main panel as most opus 3 synths in the last 6 months worldwide have been selling at around £560 to £580. So just run that one again in case you glance over this and don’t read it properly, the panel where the controls for filters and envelops and so on are found, i.e. the part above the actual playable keyboard is quite scratched. The playable white and black keys themselves are average. I think this entire description is very fair and is a true representation of this synth.” Link

Panel is very clean, no rusty screws or faded paint.

Synth works fine but knobs and faders may need some cleaning to make them smooth.

Added knob on the left side changes de tuning,so you are able to transpose to a higher or lower octave.

Wood case is included

It been in my studio for years and now I have decided to try something new, so selling it.

It’s in great condition, a few knocks here and there which I will detail but essentially I consider it ‘Used’. I am sure it’s been gigged in it’s lifetime but not by me.

All keys are good, no broken keys and the action is as even as it ever was. The end cheeks are good no big knocks or scrapes. The wooden facia underneath the keyboard is scratched and chipped. The bottom is as new really, all feet are present and it sits level on a table, so not warped.

The front panel is in very nice condition showing little sign of wear, all knobs and switches are present and original, no peeling sticker or transfers on this one. There is on switch missing, was missing when I got it, it’s the ‘Final Decay’ switch (pictured missing).

The panel above the keyboard, where is says Moog Opus 3 is scratched on the left hand end (pictured).

Sound quality is as it should be.

This is a used Moog, not a Moog that has been refurbished or serviced at all, a genuine keyboard.” Link

It has been in storage and has not been played recently.

It is in good condition physically. The keys feel good. One key has a chip that you can see in picture 2.

I am not an expert.

The buttons all seem to work. I could hear the different changes.

There is a loud hum while it is plugged in. Probably needs a cleaning and a check up to see if the ground is ok.

Outside wood is in good condition. Bottom has scratches.

This is in such silly great condition, I just can’t keep it.

I have gone through over looking for issues.
These are the ONLY things that are not %100…
a) the 1′ slider on the organ section is a little touchy/scratchy
b) the emph slider on the VCF is a little scratchy
c) the wooden dressing bar (on the front under the keys has a slight wobble/looseness on the right side
d) there are a few nicks on the left end cheek (see pic)

Other than those minor things, this is killer.
