“I have for sale a wonderful Arp Odyssey Mk1 White Face. Quite a rare synth, but this one is even more special. it has the Moog 4035 “blue meanie” filter installed by CMS. It is in excellent cosmetic shape, has a few CV 1/8″ mods on the back, and is fully functional. Sliders work quite well and aren’t gummy like some old Odysseys. Fully functional, keyboard works well too. The Moog filter sounds great. It was serviced about half a year ago and is good to go. ” Link

“A rare find! Here’s your chance to own a piece of keyboarding history. This synth has been thoroughly and professionally cleaned and serviced.
All keyboard bushings have been replaced, all faders have been cleaned and lubed. Contacts, Pots, Etc were cleaned and tested. Filter caps in the power supply have been replaced as needed and it has two each new axial capacitors and Radial capacitors. This unit looks and sounds great.” Link
“This auction is for an ARP Odyssey Mk 2. It is not in 100% working order.
The synth powers on and makes sounds, but in some sliders’ positions the sound becomes faint, or not there. I am not a professional technician, but I have fixed up an ARP Odyssey at home before. I can tell you that this synth has all of it’s parts, inside and out. None of the electronics inside are damaged physically, but obviously they are not working properly. It might just require some serious cleaning inside. Again, I’m not sure what the issue(s) might be. I bought the synth years ago with the intent on fixing it, but never really got around to it. I recently had a baby and now I don’t really have the time to figure out and fix the issues with this synth, or the spare cash to take it to a pro.
Also, as you can tell by the pictures, the keys are not all straight. But, they all have spring and all are able to make sounds. And lastly, it is hard to see but there are a couple spots on the synth’s face that have been painted over. Judging by the fact they are squared, I would guess to cover up a name scratched in. It was like this when I got the synth.
Cosmetically it looks good for being over 3 decades old. There are a few minor scratches and the gold writing is faded, but can still all be read.
Also, the AR/ADSR slider top has snapped off (as pictured below), but it can still be used. It still slides easily and functions as it should.
This is model #2813.
Features:
-Resonant low pass filter
-High pass filter in series w/ the low pass
-ADSR envelopes
-Sine or Square wave LFO
-Sample-And-Hold function
-Oscillator-sync capability
-Pulse-width modulation
-CV/Gate control
This is truly a great vintage synth that can create nice analog basses, interesting leads, great effects, and sweeping sounds. With a little work and tlc this could be a great running synth.
Sold as is. ” Link

This is part of an Estate liquidation, the sinthesizer was power tested only

“So after having the Arp listed for 30 days I received many offers and many requests, the most common request was for more details/pictures of the paperwork/templates and to replace the one key that was cracked on the bottom.

“For sale is one used “Whiteface” Arp Odyssey Model 2813. I am selling this synth for a friend who has no experience listing items on Ebay. He bought the synth 15 years ago in rather decrepit condition, and a great deal of effort and money went in to fixing this keyboard. Here is a list of the items addressed:
-Full key rebushing job with Pratt & Reed bushings
-Jwires/buss bars burnished for flawless switching
-Power supply rebuild
-Sliders cleaned and repacked with lube
-5 new sliders were added for the broken ones.
-Full filter rebuild and calibration to 20kHz
-Full recap of the circuit
Some other internal shots will be posted in the coming days. Basically this is a rebuilt Odyssey that should last for a couple of decades without any issues. When I picked the synth up last week, I was surprised at how great it sounded as in its original state it was completely unusable” Link

“Vintage ARP odyssey model 2823 Mk III synthesizer with original Anvil flight case. I am not an expert on these instruments but I have tried several patches and all the sliders, switches, touch pads and octave switch seem to be working properly. Two of the keys were broken off at one time and two other key ends were grafted on to the original key stubs (it’s not pretty but both keys work). Sometimes but not every time the low E key is depressed it makes a kind of warbling sound? maybe a dirty contact? This synth has been stored in it’s case, in a dry, heated hallway in my home for about 10years. The original foam in the case had deteriorated so I used some other foam I had for shipping purposes. This synth has never been modded, all the sliders and switches work but could probably use a good cleaning, two of the slider caps are missing. I have tried to describe this item as accurately as I can, if you have any questions please ask before bidding. This is a 30+ year old instrument and is being sold AS-IS, NO returns or refunds will be accepted.” Link
“This listing is for an ARP ODYSSEY Mark III synthesizer. The unit is 100% functional, but for one key, and it is in excellent cosmetic condition. The highest key does not work as the key contact needs to be replaced. According to the ARP ODYSSEY maintenance manual this is a very simple fix.” Link
“This is a Rare white Arp Odyssey vintage analog synthesizer keyboard in near mint condition. This is an awesome vintage synth with tons of features and is in near mint shape. Just a few light marks on it and works perfect. It looks to have some standard mods on the rear with the added inputs and outputs. I’ve seen the same mod on others so seems to be a common one on these. As far as I can tell otherwise it’s all original. It was passed down in my family and was always gently used in our professional, smoke free studio. I don’t believe it has any replacement parts…switches, faders, keys, etc. Everything seems to work perfectly. All sliders work though a few of them have a little crackle and some are tighter than others. Probably just needs a basic cleaning of faders and contacts. I opted not to have a tech clean everything because I figured the new owner might want to use their own. It’s been taken fantastic care of. All keys work perfectly. Comes with the harmonica setting cover. This is an amazing unit and works perfect. Tons and tons of killer sounds, analog vintagey goodness. Shipping will be $45 within the continental US and local pickup with cash is always cool.” Link
ARP Odyssey MK II
Seriennummer 2811 0182
Filtertyp 4075 (modifiziert) ” Link
A fully functioning, ARP Odyssey 2800 Mk. 1 analog synthesizer, manufactured between 1972-1974. Serial #28231. This is the rare, white Mk. 1 Odyssey that functions (to the best of my knowledge) exactly as it should. It sounds incredible, the sliders are smooth and noise-free, and it recently been gone over by a tech.
This synthesizer was serviced a month ago by Jason at Free State FX in Lawrence, KS and had the following things done:
1) all the sliders were replaced (sliders from http://www.synthrestore.co.uk/products.htm)- now they all function as they should and are very smooth
2) the keys and interior of the keyboard were thoroughly cleaned and checked for any failing parts- everything works great by the way.
3) the exterior of the keyboard has been gently cleaned and looks almost like new! Naturally a little wear and tear, but in great condition for a 40-year-old synth!
This is a hard synthesizer to part with. It is in very good condition, it sounds incredible and it just plain looks cool. However, I am primarily a guitarist and I have little use for this piece right now. Again, it is in great shape, it’s rare, it sounds amazing and the price reflects this.” Link

Serial Number #0288.
SOLD AS IS! May need some cleaning and replacement of some contacts but, it works and powers up fine.
INCLUDED: Heavy Duty (CALZONE) Flight Case and Portamento footswitch.” Link
“This is an ARP Odyssey, a vintage synthesizer that makes some darn cool sounds. I must stress that I know nothing about these synths. I had a hard time deciding whether to sell this as a “used instrument” or as one “not working or for parts”. The synth IS passing sounds, and a great many different sounds can be made with the numerous sliders/faders and knobs. Very full, thick, warm, analog sounds come from this guy. Every key on the keyboard works. All of the faders and knobs work except one (the LFO frequency fader which is broken but its still there.) The synth itself seems inconsistent in its response to being played. Sound always comes out, but there are dips in pitch and amplitude sometimes (maybe thats whats supposed to happen??). The LED lights up red when you turn the synth on. Cosmetically, its in decent shape. There looks to have been a sticker or two on it at one time because there is some residue left over, but other than that the surface seems in good shape. Some of the faders are kinda sticky. Aside from that, the unit is capable of lots of cool and weird sounds and for any experienced tech, this should be a jackpot. If you have no idea how to work on these things or don’t at least know someone who can, I would not suggest buying this one. If you do have experience or know someone who does, you’re in for a real treat.” Link
“I purchased this synth back in 1995 from a resale shop. I thought I would get more use out of it but then it just sat around. This is a USED piece of equipment and it had its issues when I bought it (see last 3 included pictures), therefore I am selling this “as-is” with no returns. One of the slider tabs is broken but it still works if you catch the plastic that’s remaining with your finger. Also, a switch was busted off and the person seems to have soldered the board underneath in the LFO position. I don’t have a picture showing it but the electrical AC connector in the rear of the unit has the lower plastic broken off, it doesn’t affect how the ac cable plugs in though.
Overall it’s in pretty good shape (besides what I’ve detailed above). I have not tried to refurb it as I’m not sure what that would do to the value. I haven’t tested it great detail either because I’m really not quite sure I know how to use it entirely. The sliders aren’t frozen but they are not new either. No keys are stuck but two seem to have less travel than the rest. I’ve used the Low Output on the rear and that’s about it. Made some fun and interesting noises but not used for what it was designed for. I hope the next owner will enjoy using it to it’s full capabilities.” Link
” Available here is a genuine analog beast – the mighty Arp Odyssey! It sounds absolutely huge and raw and wild and wonderful. This is the model 2823 version with the 4 pole filter, which is the best sounding of all the models according to aficionados of this instrument. It’s in excellent condition functionally and near excellent condition cosmetically. The only minor blemishes are some scuffing of the paint at the right top corner (as seen in the pictures) and about a third of the slider caps are missing (apparently this is a common occurrence due to the way the caps were manufactured, but this does not affect usability whatsoever.) All of the sliders work smoothly and all of the switches, keys, and jacks function well. Also included in this auction is a custom fit hard flight case and an original print copy of the user manual.” Link

“Product Information
MPN: Arp Odyssey Synthesizer
Type: Model 2800
Number of Keys: 37
Power Supply: Internal
The classic synth that was part of the start of electronic music.
A one-owner item, new in 1979. Clean and not scuffed up or abused. Never taken on the road or into clubs; a home-studio instrument. All sliders move. Recent testing did not show the synth to be able to play. For techies, it produces a sound similar to a resonant sweep when a key is depressed, without any of the oscillators engaged. The envelope generators do appear to work. Behind the sound of the resonant sweep, the ocsillators can be heard, but appear to need some tuning. The instrument has not been used for over 20 years. For the right person who can perform the servicing, this instrument is in good enough esthetic condition to warrant the current market value, which appears to be from $1500 – $2000. Includes 2 orig foot pedals and orig manual.
Still in the original ship-proof cardboard/polystyrene carton.
Comes with a Korg Signal Processor, which can take the output from a guitar or any mic source, convert it into a voltage and gate signal that can be fed into the Arp, to control it. The Arp has been modified with inputs for the Korg unit.” Link
“For your consideration is this vintage ARP Odyssey II (2813) synthesizer and original ARP flight case. This particular example, serial number 1517, is in very excellent condition. It was recently serviced and currently works perfectly. For those who are familiar, the ARP Odyssey is one of the best compact synths ever made, and it truly sounds amazing. This is a great example for studio owners and collectors alike, so take advantage of this No Reserve auction as the highest bidder will win regardless of price!” Link
” Arp Odyssey synthesizer does not work! It powers up but has no sound. 15 sliders are broken, and are stiff, there are two holes in the front panel which are not stock, two additional inputs on rear panel which have no destination, and is missing screws. I have the pitch knob, and most slider pips which are not shown. This synthesizer is being sold as-is for parts or repair.” Link
“This is an Arp Odyssey MK II to the best of my knowledge. I have owned this since 1989 and it has never left my house since. It is in perfect working order, all sliders work well, all keys work, and the PPC works as well. The only fault is it is missing the serail # tag. It was there when I bought it, but must of fell off sometime without my noticing it. I have searched the house for it with no luck. I have included pictures of the circuit boards, which shows the #2805, I don’t know how to check to see if it has the Moog style filter,” Link
“RARE TRANSITIONAL ARP ODYSSEY 2800 MkI SYNTHESIZER
Black/Gold Face. Amazing Condition. Includes original flight case, pedal, patches and more.
This is a rare transitional ARP Odyssey 2800 MkI synth with black and gold face. Made in the U.S.A. by ARP Instruments, Inc., Newton, Mass. This final production run of the popular MkI featured many of the modules that would be used in the MkII. These transitional MkI’s replaced the original ‘white face’ top with the black and gold color scheme that would be used in the MkII’s.
All keys work and sound quality is good on the outputs. The synth is 100% factory with no visible mods or repairs. This unit does not have the optional CV/Gate/Trigger interface jacks on the backplane. I have never had the body of the synth opened.
Sliders all have their original colored nipples and work smoothly but not loosely. These models still used the rotary knob for pitch shifting and that still functions well on this unit. There’s a small area of paint loss above the portamento/pitch section (See Photo).
The AR/ADSR and gain sliders have just a touch of scratchiness when they are being adjusted. By my ear it needs a lot of calibration after over 30 years without servicing, but I am far from expert about the sound of these synths.
The overall look of the unit is fairly immaculate after 30 years in its case. I actually played this Odyssey in high school band in 1984. I remember pulling it down off its shelf from storage for the siren sound effect in “Midnight Fire Alarm,” and we thought it was an antique then. On one of the ‘template’ slides you can see my handwritten notes from 1984 with settings for playing the music from SpyHunter and Pole Position video games.
I purchased it at a high school surplus property auction a few years ago. The high school name is etched in small letters on the top edge. At the time I bought it for the nostalgia, not knowing till later the uniqueness of this particular unit and the collectability of Odysseys in general.
The portamento pedal is the original model shipped by ARP with the synths in 1974. When plugged into the back the pedal controls the sweep set on the front panel. I tried that out and it works.
The case is the original ARP flight case in good shape with some scuffs, dings, etc., and a small amount of rust on the bottom hinge area (See Photo). The hinges and latches are all tight and work well. The handle has some loose stitching along the seam. The factory foam inserts are in good shape and hold the synth snugly.
The books and patches are all used and have bent corners, small tears, some writing, etc., and include:
ODYSSEY PATCH BOOK Seems complete. Seventy-five pages are listed in the table of contents and 75 pages are included. Some of the binder holes are torn.
ODYSSEY PATCHES. Cover lists 16 patches and 16 patches are included, plus extras. These are paper templates made to fit over the 2800’s board to help quickly set up sounds.
LEARNING MUSIC WITH SYNTHESIZERS. By David Friend, Allen R. Pearlman, and Thomas D. Piggott.” Link
“ARP Odyssey Analog Synth, Model Mark I (2800), rare vintage, black face. It’s broken (not working).
This is the ‘first’ version of the classic ARP Odyssey synth. There was a white face version of the same model which came out before this. Serial number is 282473.
Unit has an Official modification from ARP qualified engineers years ago (see picture of label on device for Mod description, below). The Mod is a conversion from dial switch pitch bend to finger pad pitch bend, plus a couple of switches.
I purchased this years ago (not working). I have held onto it since then, hoping some day to refurb it and play it (I had another ARP Odyssey years ago, and it was my first keyboard, with a great sound).
This one was stored in a cool dry place, no moisture or heat. It is clean as a whistle inside and out, but needs a little care to get it working (or, good for parts). The inside looks clean, and is not messy, nor is there anything obvious like charred parts, rust, etc. Electrical contacts look clean. There is a picture
of the small modified circuit board, which connects to the finger pad pitch bend.
Externally, the unit is super clean. Face is black, and not scratched at all (although, little blemish on the left). Keys are white, and not yellowed. Key action is perfect (see inside as well). Sliders are all operational (i.e., move, full range, none broken), although might require a little grease to slide more easily. All colored tabs on sliders are present. So, this is a ‘great’ restoration project for someone, or useful for parts. Refurbed MK I’s can sell for 1000s. I’ve seen mostly MK II, or MK III on ebay, but not many MK I’s.
Sold as is, guaranteed broken.” Link

“Hi ya, this is a beautiful Synth i bought off of ebay myself about 6 years ago. It had then just been fully serviced and it’s definitely been well taken care of over the years because it’s still pristine, with all all the functions, keys, switches*, input/outputs and sliders working perfectly and absolutely smooth. Only one defect*, as you can see in the picture, the S/H LFO switch is missing. It came off when i lent it to friend awhile back unfortunately. I imagine it’s a pretty simple fix. Everything else is in perfect working order, and it’s an awesome sounding unit. I’ve used it for all kinds of sounds, and it has an external audio input so you can run vocals or anything through it’s filters. So much fun! I love it but i can’t afford to keep it around with my current needs. ” Link

“Arp Odyssey MK-1 Analogue Synth
Legendry Synth!!
Duo-Phonic so you are able to play 2 notes at a time
Up for sale is this superb classic analogue synth from Arp
MK 1 version all original and in good shape for its age
cosmeticly there is no damge to the case and just some wear to the front panel paint around a few sliders. Small patch has been touched in with some paint but nothing bad. Looks superb!
Every function is working as is all the keys
Just been serviced and cleaned out. All key contacts cleaned, slider pots and switches all flushed with Deoxit switch cleaners and slider lube
All switches and pots working. Just one slider has a small dead patch near the bottom of the setting. Still works either side of this
Just been tuned and calibrated too” Link
“The unit is in excellent mechanical condition and is fully functioning aside from one dead key. There are some pictured cosmetic flaws, faded paint and six yellowed keys. Otherwise this synth really howls, It has one of the most intense sounds Ive heard. Nearly limitless in its flexibility and possessing a very open architecture for its time making the Odyssey an all time classic. This is a very early MKII the 2810 and may have the moog filter!!! This is an absolutely beautiful sounding instrument. I have bought and sold vintage musical equipment for ten years bid with confidence. ” Link
“For your consideration is the ARP Odyssey MKII 2813 synthesizer.
The unit has been used over the years, but shows light cosmetic wear(see pics).
All of the colored slider caps are present.
A few of the keys have yellowed with age, but this is common on this model Odyssey.
The unit is in 100% working condition and sounds amazing.
The synth was recently serviced, including: calibration, cleaning the sliders, installation of new bushing, and replacement of any old/faulty parts.
This listing includes the ARP Odyssey MKII 2813 only.” Link
“The sample/hold output lag, LFO Frequency and VCF envelope amount slider caps have been broken off but are still functional.
The synthesizer was cleaned serviced and had the key bushings replaced a year ago and hasnt been used much since.
Is in great condition, functions beautifully and has a great VINTAGE sound. ” Link
“Arp Odyssey Mk III, Model 2823
classic, vintage analog synthesizer
You are bidding on an Arp Odyssey Mk 3 vintage analog synthesizer, Model 2823, Serial No.28230083.
As you can see from the photos, it is in quite good cosmetic condition: clean appearance, very little paint chipping, no broken sliders, even keys – in many ways, it is in better physical condition than most Odysseys out there. Cosmetic issues to report: one of the wood side panels is missing, 17 missing slider caps, and slight warp to the metal case in the front-left.
Functionally, this synth will definitely need some work. I bought this synth in non-working condition, with the intention of getting it repaired, so I took the synth to a local synthesizer repair technician. When I took it to him, it basically made no sound except for a high pitched whining, and the keyboard had almost no affect. The technician reported that everything inside was present and correct, but very dirty and in need of a substantial overhaul. I gave him the go-ahead to give it an initial cleaning and some minor calibration work, and it’s amazing how much the synth has come to life. All of the keys are now working, switches all work, PPC (Proportional Pitch Controller) works perfectly. Most of the sliders affect the sound as they should, albeit often intermittently (the only sliders that seemed to be totally non-functional were the ADSR’s Sustain and Release sliders). The sliders are all very stiff and rough, and are in need of a complete overhaul – in fact, they should probably be replaced entirely, as they most likely remain the main source of this Ody’s problems. According to Arp repair guru Phil @ CMS: “…due to the unreliability of the original Odyssey sliders… Frankly, in our experience, long term, stable operation of any Odyssey requires replacing and upgrading the sliders.” It’s for this reason that I decided that this project was beyond my budget, hence the reluctant sale. So to be clear, I would describe this Odyssey’s working condition as “semi-functional”, and it is being sold “as is”, for parts/repair, and I will accept no returns and offer no refunds whatsoever.” Link

“This is a used ARP Odyssey. It was working when I packed it away some 15 years ago. The unit powers on, all keys, LFO, Noise Generator, AR VCA, Sample and Hold all work. All controls and jacks operate properly and well.
It shows use and has some repairs:
-scratches and scuffs in the housing and paint
-the back of the top metal housing is bent inward (most likely from a fall)
-some bottom panel attachment screws are missing and one PCB standoff has broken away from the top panel
-a few of the slider tip covers are missing
-two keys have been sloppily repaired to working order (see photos 9-11)
-there are some repaired PCB traces
-power switch is damaged, but has been repaired and is working

“ARP ODYSSEY ANALOG SYNTH. as found in old audio shop’s backroom. it’s broken if not it wouldnt be there. i see a few sliders that are broken flush with the top panel and the “transpose” rocker seems broken as it wobbles freely to one side. i have not plugged it in. inside i didnt find anything obvious like charred parts or popped caps but a synth as old as this one will need some refreshing. ” Link

” Arp Odyssey; 2-stimmiger Vintage Synthie
….. Oder habe ich mich nur in der Odyssey verloren ….. was nicht unschnell passieren kann !” Link
“For Sale: ARP Odyssey Analog Synthesizer Model 2813 in absolutely mint condition. I am the original owner and a professional musician. This was lightly used for about 2 years and then packed away in a closet. I recently took it out and tried all the switches and sounds. All the keys and sliders are in perfect shape. You would be hard pressed to find a single scratch on this unit. Whoever wins this will be extremely satisfied and enjoy many years of pleasure from this synth. Included is a copy of the original manual.” Link

“Hi ya, this is a beautiful Synth i bought off of ebay myself about 6 years ago. It’s definitely been well taken care of over the years because it’s still pristine, with all all the functions, keys, switches*, input/outputs and sliders working perfectly and absolutely smooth. I love it but i can’t afford to keep it around with my current needs.” Link
” Not working and beyond my ablity to service. It was heavily modified at some point to allow direct access and control to various functions. I’m lost and don’t have the time or energy to fix it.” Link
