kitten“Description: . comes as seen. Classic Vintage analog synth. includes custom hard shell case as seen. you see lots of “The Cat” models but very little of the Kitten model. Although not as complex as the Cat, it is quite rare – so don’t miss out on this one as it is in great shape as it was stored most of its life in the case that is included. only thing not original are 2 of the sliders but they are a good funky match

Condition: powers on and LED lights up. the synth makes sounds and all keys works. it seams all the functions work except the Tune knob does not seem to do anything.” Link

octave kitten“Hi, up for sale is my old “octave kitten”.
nice old monophonic synth from the 70s,
1 oscillator with 2 sub osc for very deep bass, lots of mod possibilities etc.
has its own angry character but great for vaguely moogy leads/ weird bleeps and fm/static noise experimentation.
selling as its quite large and i dont use it much since i bought a voyager.
2 things–2 keys are pointing vertical from the rest of the keys, the low “A” key works but the upper “E” dosnt seem to be working. this is probably an easy fix but I am not the man to do it!
also, as with alot of old 70s synths it can be a bit noisy sometimes.
i control mine from ableton quite happily with my doepfer mcv4.” Link

kitten“For Auction, an Octave Kitten monophonic analog synthesizer.

The synth is in excellent working condition, all sliders have been thorougly cleaned, switches and pots work properly, the oscillator have been ranged and scaled.

Well tested, a very good example of this model.

Cosmetics: all knobs and caps, switches are included, keys have very light scratches, there a few faint scratches on the front panel. Also included are all plugs for the front panel access holes used in calibration. Overall, a very good and clean condition” Link

kitten ii“Here is a synthesizer with the instruction book that has a 1981 date. The box does not say Kitten, it only says CAT, so we do not think this is the correct box but we are not sure. Measures about 24″ x 17″ but the box is larger. The foam supports are correct for the Kitten, they fit perfectly on the sides of it but one is in two pieces. It then fits perfectly in the box with appropriate room for keeping it safe. We have had it tested and it is fully functional. There are light signs of wear or use and the box has some damage. The Kitten II is a lighter version of the CAT synthesizer. The instruction manual is very detailed and has plenty of diagrams and patch charts. Requires an amp.” Link

” Had this worked on earlier this year and it was working fine. The key contacts (j-wire and buss bar) were bad and have gone bad again on a few notes causes only one tone to be triggered.

I hardly used it so I no longer need this project.

No knobs on pots or sliders and as I stated before, it only produces one sound. ” Link

” Octave Kitten II Analog Synthesizer Moog Cat WORKS GREAT! Must See & Hear! RARE!

In good cosmetic condition and working 100%.

Ready to be played. Hardly any visible wear. Keys are all responsive.

All of the original sliders caps and knobs are intact, except for one broken switch that can easily be replaced.

And it could use a new power cord (easily replaced). Other than that, there are no known issues. Sounds amazing!” Link

“I have a RARE WORKING kitten mono synth for sale that needs a good home. I would have to say this is in a MINTY COLLECTOR’S CONDITION (as reflected in the price). It has been serviced by top Los Angeles synth tech and working as it should. It is ready to be recorded and played/tweaked. I am the second owner of this synth and hate to let it go but trying to build my own eurorack modular and need some funding. ” Link

“1. One front panel pot knob is missing its black insert (cosmetic only)
2. All switches and pots may exhibit some rustliness as appropriate to age of unit.
3. In particular, the VCF Q slider pot may be intermittent and need cleaning or replacement.” Link

” Octave Kitten Synthesizer not fully working. The synthesizer is in excellent physical shape both inside and out but the oscillator is not producing any audio. It comes with a custom home made case also! The IC chips are socket mounted and I believe the parts are available at Syntaur Productions but the repair is just beyond my ability. The serial number reads F10xx. The filter still works perfectly and will create a feedback type of noise so I have been able to check key contacts and they all work flawlessly. All faders work smoothly and seem to be free of static and noise. ” Link

“This is a vintage Octave Kitten 2 synthesizer (1970′s).

It is in very good condition – except for the octave shift switch which has snapped off and will need to be replaced (see pictures). There are also a few minor scratches and wear and tear on some of the switches and knobs. One of the knobs is also missing the black circle top (again, see pictures).

I have tested it and everything is working fine apart from the snapped off switch (some crackling on a few faders due to it not having been used for years, but again, no major problems).” Link

“You are looking at a vintage Octave Kitten synthesizer.

The Kitten is the little brother of the widely acclaimed CAT, as used by the likes of the Chemical Brothers and many others.

This synth is in perfect working order, and good cosmetic condition with only a couple of slight dints to the wooden end cheeks.” Link

The synth is in perfect working order and good cosmetic condition. All print is visible and there are no dents to the case. There are a few miniature patches of rust that were going to receive some Naval Jelly and a spot of paint but I never got round to it (its mild patina appeals to me). There are a couple of slight marks on the keys and ‘wood’ ends and some keys don’t lay entirely flat but this doesn’t affect the function at all. I may attempt to re-seat the keys if I have time.

She has a UK power supply.

The original knobs have been replaced by Minimoog style items. I still possess the old white ones and they shall be included in the sale.” Link

“This is a very reluctant sale of my beloved and perfectly functioning Octave Kitten; (sale is due to being made redundant)

I wont tell you to go to such and such a site or look it up on the internet as others do, i will tell you directly, this is a powerful synthesizer despite it being only a 1osc synth, but you do get extra waveforms on sliders, those being 2 octave below, 1 octave below squarewaves, you also get triangle and sawtooth as well as normal squarewave which can be modulated by pulsewidth to really thicken things up, people say this was built in response to the Arp Axxe, dont believe them, the Kitten is capable of far more and way bigger sounds, the Axxe sounds positivly thin when compared to this, so far then you have a 1 osc synth with 5 mixable waveforms on sliders, then comes the modulation possibilities which while not reaching the same heights as the Odyssey certainly give you a lot of sounds when compared to other lesser 1osc synths, on the filter section as well as filter and resonance you have a selection of click switches which allow you to modulate the filter either normally by the ADSR or when you click it by the VCO you can then twist the knob and all sorts of weirdness comes out of it, your imagination is really the limit with this synth, there is a reason these dont come up for sale often people who have them keep them, sadly i cannot and bills have to be paid, whoever gets this synth gets a beauty of a synth, strike out against fashion, forget the over priced Moogs, Arps and what have you; buy a well priced but very powerful Kitten.” Auction ended. “Up for bid is a Kitten synthesizer manufactured by Octave Electronics Inc.

Electronic Condition: The unit appears to be fully functional with two small issues:

- Pitch can become unstable sometimes if SH switch is pressed too hard (it looks like it needs some cleaning)

- A main volume knob goes from zero to maximum really fast – this doesn’t affect performance in any way

Visual condition: All knobs and slider plastics are present (check the picture), some blemishes on the paint can be found on close-up check – overall condition is good.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

I do not have the leads to connect it up. So I can not play it, but, I have had it independently tested and it works as it should and makes some great sounds.

Power lead conection is included. All control buttons and sliders are there and all moving and working freely.

Condition good for its age.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
