prommer “Up for auction is a very cool PROM programmer/sample recorder, known as the Oberheim Prommer. Unit is in overall very good cosmetic condition, and electronically and functionally, it is excellent. Once you get the sample in, you can execute all kinds of modifications of the sample. For example, the “reverse” function is worth the price alone. Reverse the sound of a toilet flushing – it is the ultimate alt percussion experience. The unit comes with a PROM chip; to get you started (plug it in to your DMX for new sounds), and be sure to check out Paul White’s Electrongate for other details on this neat device. I have printed out the instruction manual, and this is included with the unit, as well as an AC cable.” Link

“Selling a rare Oberheim Prommer. I had two of these units. I just sold the first one and this auction is for the second unit. The exterior shows signs of use, but is still in good condition (see pics of actual item above). There are a couple of deep scratches near the “play” and “record” buttons (see pics). As far as functionality goes, the unit powers up, screen/display works great, all buttons and sliders work. I am able to record and playback samples with the unit. I do not have any EPROM chips to burn so I couldnt test that part. I am selling this item as is. Item will be as described or your money back. ” Link

“This unit has some dings but it sat in my studio so it wasn’t jostled around on the road. I haven’t used it in years, nor do I have blank eproms, but it does light up and sample. Making room in the studio and decided to move things that haven’t been used in a while and get them into the hands of someone who will love to have this. If you want to breathe new life and sound into an old drum machine this is a great tool.” Link

A 1980′s Oberheim Prommer in excellent condition.
The Prommer is a device that burns EPROM chips for use in the Oberheim DX and DMX Drum machines as well as the Linndrum.
Editing of samples include simple attack, decay, reverse, ring-mod, stretch/squash and other digital bit manipulation. It can send all samples as a MIDI dump to software editors such as WaveLab, so it is possible to edit and then send the samples back to the prommer to burn your custom EPROMs.
This is a vintage item now and one in this condition is very rare indeed, that is if you find one.
I have owned this item from new and I’m selling it because…I’m not in music anymore.
The original first edition (Nov 1986) owners manual is also included.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

“Up for auction is a super rare Oberheim Prommer EPROM PROM chip burner. The person who gave it to me said that it worked perfect last time he used it. He was a really good friend of Tom Oberheim and is the original owner of this unit. All the buttons function fine and the display is clear. There are a few scratches on the case as well as a chip of wood missing from the cheeks” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

“Up for auction we have an Oberheim Prommer vintage sampler. The unit is in very good condition for the age, with only a few marks to the surface, controls and keys (pictured).

The controls all work, and we have tested the sampling capability, which is fine, althought the unit requires a new internal battery. This Prommer comes with several chips (pictured), original manual and original box. All in all a good piece, in good complete condition!

The unit has been tested and is in working order. Although all efforts are made to check our vintage synths for functionality, there may be some features which do not get a full test. Our synths are sold as such.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

“For sale a very rare Oberheim Prommer. Vintage 8 bit sampler.
In full working order and good cosmetic shape.
Great for crunching up your samples, this unit has that much sort after 1980′s
8 bit sound. And you can drive the input signal, Max sample rate is 32, khz.
It has Midi in and out and Mic and Line inputs as well as an external trigger input and a mono line out.
Unit has basic effect functions like reverse, compress, stretch and ring mod.
But it’s really it’s early digital converters than give it an interesting sound. It also has funky wooden side panels and classic 80′s alpha numeric display to boot.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
