” Oberheim ob-sx for sale here today. This unit is in nice condition cosmetically, a few scuffs and nicks, nothing major at all. Some of the keys are a bit out of alignment, but easily fixed. The main problem is the power supply needs rebuilt. The unit was fine, then one day started blowing fuses. I have an Xpander and Obxa so i wont need this unit. If you want the vintage Oberheim sound for a good bargain buy this unit and have it serviced. Average cost for rebuild is around 250.00, so i am offering the synthesizer at a great price. The last unit i saw on ebay was around 2000.00, so this is a good deal accordingly..” Link
“Oberheim OBSX for sale. 4 voices, expandable to 6. Works great, no problems. Body is in good cosmetic condition with some scratches here and there. Harness the power of the OB family for under a grand. A true secret weapon.” Link
“Very good physical condition, it seems to be 220v so I can’t power it up. It comes from old smoke free studio, the shipping would be expensive because this beast is huge and heavy, I expect it could be around $350, so due to the high shipping cost the item will sold as is.” Link
” This is a rare, fully serviced and in excellent condition for its age 6 voice Oberheim OB-SX.
It does have a blemish just to the botom left of the O on the left side of the instrument. Hard to show in a photo.
It sounds amazing.” Link
” Hello, I’m selling my Oberheim OBSX without any voice cards and OB plastic knobs. Everything else besides the voice cards and plastic knobs are here in this unit. I’m selling this unit for it’s parts only. If you have an OBSX and want parts, this is an excellent way of obtaining them.” Link
“Oberheim OB-SX Vintage Analog Synthesiser, in excellent condition, this is the last release, with 56 programs and all 6 voices, in very good condition. There are a couple of scratches on the top, but don’t detract, end cheeks in great condition.” Link
“Hello, I’m selling my Oberheim OB-SX 6 voice synthesizer. It is in excellent (and smoke free) condition. As you know this was Oberheim’s preset (mine has the full 56 presets) (with some controls to alter the sound) synthesizer which took the famous sounds from it’s bigger brother the OBX.and incorporated them in the SX. It is a gray version which has both CV in/out as well as Filter CV input. The CV in/out works monophonically as you would expect, but is so very handy with other CV modules from moogerfoogers to full fledged modular synths and of course anything that has CV. It also works well as a keyboard controller with my Euro modular (use it in unison mode for this) and the OB’s portamento control transmits to the euro, however the pitch and mod lever do not. Every thing works on this synth and is a real joy to play, and most of all it has that huge Oberheim sound! The keyboard also has a great feel to it, and as you can see from the pictures the keys are level. The Chips (CEM) that are used on the Oberheims are worth alone more than I am asking for the unit. Also to note that the voice boards generally go for $250.00-$300.00 a piece when you can find them…(quite rare)…and this one has 6 of them, so just by the math you can see that even in just voice boards alone I am asking less for what they would sell for collectively. So you get a great CV Controller keyboard to use with other CV products, a beautifully crafted piece of musical history, but most of all a huge sounding synthesizer that only the Oberheim OBX, SX, Xa can give. Lower 48 states sales and shipping only, no returns, all sales are final. Please see my feedback. Also as a side note, I was told when I purchased this unit, that after transport (shipping to me) that the voice boards might need some trimmer adjustments, and I found that this was true. In shipment they can sometimes get slightly off from their proper adjustment. After I received it I just opened it up and took a few minutes and made a few adjustments to the trimmers (via small screwdriver), and it sounded like the day it was made. So I’m just giving who ever purchases this the same advice…you may find that after shipment you too may have to adjust the trimmers a bit, but again maybe not. I’m not a tech, but I looked online for the schematics and found them, and then proceeded to barely rotate the trimmers that needed rotating until it sounded in tune and that was it, so very quick and simple for even a non tech kind of guy like me. I can include the copies that I downloaded to show what each trimmer does. Anyway, I think that’s about it, so I’m going to put it at the going rate because of all of the above. This is one of the nicest looking ones I’ve ever seen, and I think you will agree…the only reason I am selling this is that I just purchased it’s bigger brother and now have to help pay for it. ” Link
“This listing is for a Oberheim OB-SX synthesizer. The unit is 100% functional and it is in mint / perfect cosmetic shape as well. Well maintained in a smoke free studio. ” Link
“Hello… Up for auction is my Oberheim OBSX. It is the original Black and Gray version. Upgraded to 56 patches at some point. It is a SIX voice version. As you can see from the pics. The cosmetics are in very, very good condition for it’s age, no dents, scratches etc. All the LED’s, Inputs and Outputs, Levers, Keys etc work as they should. I am selling this incredibly fat sounding Oberheim because we have an ongoing major upgrade to our studio. This will help fund some new recording gear purchases. Otherwise, i’d never let this baby go. It does sound warm, fat, sweet, and huge! It comes loaded with ALL SIX voice cards, the max offered on this model. All the voice cards work, and three were refurbished my an oberheim tech several months ago, New Trimmers were installed on those three cards. One of the old cards can be a little off tune wise, but as directed by the original manual, upon power up, press the AUTO button to tune all voice cards. All cards work, sound and tune as they should, but I suggest a voice calibration after shipment as trimmers can drift in transit. Tuning the voice trimmers is very easy and I can supply schematics on the trimmers if you request it. The Keybed works perfect, all the keys trigger with no issues. Due to the age of this synth, This is sold as is, no returns, for any reason. I tested this OBSX at length this morning. It is in the condition I have listed above. Another great feature is you can press the UNISON button and play this baby as a KILLER fat sounding mono synth to which it sounds massive! It’s kinda like having an SEM mono synth.” Link
“This particular OB-SX features:
• 6 Voice Cards installed and working
• Original OB-SX Manual and power cord
• All the 56 preset sounds.
This is the model you want….has all the bells and whistles and sounds amazing!! You never see this all one on ebay especially in this condition and with all the options. My pricing is justified due to #1- all the options it has makes it very rare and highly desirable, #2- the great condition its in, #3-working 100% ,” Link
“This is a 6 voice OB-SX from 1980. It has been fully serviced. It has new key bushings, the mother board has been resoldered, and it is tuned. It is not in beautiful cosmetic condition. The back panel is bent at the output jack. Everything works perfectly, though. The end panels have been refinished and the wood is really pretty, but not flawless.
This instrument is the non-programmable instrument based on the OB-X and OB-Xa. It uses the Curtis CEM3340′s for the oscillators, a CEM3320 for the filter, and the CEM3310′s for the envelopes. It has 56 programs which can be edited for 7 parameters. It sounds great! I’ve repaired hundreds of Oberheims, so I’m really familiar with them. This instrument is working great. It weighs about 33 pounds, which is light compared to an OB-X or Xa, but still kind of heavy for shipping.” Link
“Another one from my collection and up for auction is an
OB-SX Polyphonic Synthesizer (serial # 920103)
This is a later 5 voice, 56 preset model. All 5 voices are accounted for and pass ‘Autotune’, all knobs and switches function as they should and all led’s light when depressed. All keys are still springy and smooth to the touch. They are clean and leveled with each triggering sound. Everything is original and intact. Synth is in 100% functional condition.
It’s in beautiful cosmetic condition for its age including the original end panels. (see pics)
Includes power cord and copy of owner’s and service manual. ” Link
