“Offered for sale here is the legendary Korg MS-20 semi modular synthesizer. Like the other Korg MS20 I offered on Ebay, this Korg MS20 is completely serviced by Marc Marc Amsterdam. He recapped all electrolyt capacitators, checked the functions, and cleaned the in/outputs, cleaned the pots (if necessary). The VCO’s of the MS20 were also calibrated. The MS20 is in excellent cosmetical condition. The control panel is very clean, maybe with intensive light you will find some small scratches but in normal situations it´s not easy to find one. The backside is the same. Almost no visible wear. Only on top of the MS20 there are some visible scratches (see pictures) but I accentuated these by some extra light. All by all this amazing synthesizer looks excellent. The MS20 works on 220V. Original manual is not included.” Link

“I’ve watched Korg MS20s sell over the years and finally decided mine has to go! I bought this synth in the West End of London in the late 70s.
I haven’t used it much I confess. It’s only been used at home and then only for recording sound effects.
I brought it out to Australia in late 1981 and it’s been gathering dust ever since.
I powered it up today and everything seems to be working OK. The oscillators can be tuned to unison and seem to stay close all the way up the keyboard.
I have never attempted to tune the presets under the rubber plugs.
The S/N is 142051 and the voltage is 240V AC with an Australian plug on the cable.
There are small scratches on the top and back of the case but not on the front panel as far as I can see.
I’ve got 3 original moulded jack leads and the two manuals to add but one manual has several pages cut out by persons unknown.” Link

The Korg sounds beautiful. I’ve never heard any soft synth or digital synth produce anything near the true analogue tones that this can harness.
I’ve never had any problems with it, very durable and easy to use with some basic knowledge of synthesis.
There are 2 knobs missing but the actual pots work fine. One of the keys has also been broken and glued back together at some point and the tiny button under the wheel controller has been sheared off. All of these issues have never caused me a problem but then, i am a bit of a Synth novice! I believe that spare keys are obtainable on the web.
The patch sockets are slightly rusty/pitted but its been like that since I’ve had it and they all work to my knowledge. There are also a few scuffs here and there but these obviously don’t effect its performance. Please have a good look at the pictures before bidding!” Link

“Here is an original 70′s Korg MS-20. It works and looks great! I am the second owner of this synth and know the original owner, so I know the complete history of the synth. It has had mostly home/studio use with a some pro gigs in the 80′s. Electronically it is working 100% with no issues. Cosmetically it looks good but has some scratches and wear marks. It has a small crack around one of the screws that holds the plastic end pieces on. It has a very fine scratch or what could be perceived to a hairline crack on the D key pictured (not noticeable at all) . It also has some mild oxidation from the sweat/acid that naturally occurs on our hands. Overall it looks good but I like to point out every flaw so there are no surprises. All the wear is from normal honest use and you can tell the original owner and I did the best we could to take care of the MS-20 and protect our investment while getting the best from it. ” Link

Optikcheck:
Kratzer an der Unterseite und leichte Kratzer auf der Oberseite und Rückseite. Das Schaltfeld und die Seitenteile sind top. Eine minimale Absplitterung an der Unterseite einer Taste. Die Gumminoppen zur Abdeckung der Tuningschrauben sind noch vollständig (und das ist selten).
Also ein dem Alter entsprechendes richtig gutes Gerät im unverbastelten Originalzustand.

I am devastated to see this go as it has been my baby for so long and was given to me by my grandfather who bought it ages ago. Regardless, I have fallen on tough times and have no choice but to let it go. It is perhaps for the better that it will get to see some productive use.
I have taken great care of it and it has not been used much other than the occasional fooling around. Its never been gigged and has served most of its time sitting on a shelf looking pretty. It has literally no scratches or dings obvious to the naked eye and is to the best of my knowledge in mint condition. I have tested it to the best of my ability and can’t find any errors. Having owned several modern synthesizers over the years this one has always been my favorite.

From an electronics standpoint – no serious issues to report. Every knob does what it should!
In case you are looking at the panel and you don’t know Korg terminology from back then, they used to call what everyone else called the LFO an “MG,” or Modulation Generator.
All the keys work on the instrument and they track the keyboard well — though the very top key is sluggish. If you play a rapid repitition of notes on that key, it will only sound one out of every 4 times or so. Make no mistake — I have never opened this instrument and I’m sure that it could use a cleaning and a go-over internally. Scratchy pots abound. and therefore the unit is offered “as is.”
I will also mention that I did a test of a few of the standard modular functions — for example routing the wheel to the VCF for filter sweeps and to the CV in for pitch bends. (The fun of which made me question the wisdom of selling it!) By no means did I test even the majority of patch points. I’d guess that the majority of people never even use the modular side of this instrument. I remember back in the day putting a guitar through there and processing it somewhat. I’ll include 4 little patch cords not pictured for such activity.
Cosmetically – well, that’s another story. This unit took a tumble from the top of a keyboard stack (ouch.) The lowest key ( C ) is half broken off (see photo) and I don’t have the other half. The key still works, you just have to play the top part of it. So unless you are playing virtuoso classical pieces you should be ok. If you are, you can bump it up or down an octave! J
The momentary switch (below the mod wheel in the picture) is missing. It is a little plastic pin type button that goes in that hole in the picture.
More seriously, there’s a crack in the left side of the case, and cracks in the right side of the case as pictured. These cracks are cosmetic issues that do no affect the performance, though the issue of the highest key not triggering each time may be related. I’m told parts may be available, but I have not reasearched that. Patch points show some rust. Be sure to check all photos and feel free to contact me with Q’s.” Link

Apart from playing around with it from time to time it’s had very little use and I can guarantee is in absolutely great order throughout, both technically and cosmetically. All the keys are original, completely in line and everything is fully functional. It’s also in really remarkably clean and tidy condition all over. Der Synthesizer kann gerne bei mir vor Ort getestet, in Augenschein genommen und auch direkt abgeholt werden. Für Schäden, die aufgrund der Versendung entstehen, übernehme ich keine Haftung. Mit dabei ist die Einführung in die Bedienung und mehrere vorgefertigte Blätter zum Eintragen von eigenen Sound-Kreationen, allerdings nicht im Original, sondern als Kopie.” Link
“Here is my beloved Korg MS-20, all original, fully functional and in great cosmetic shape with only two minor exceptions:
1. There are two tiny chips missing from under the top two keys. These are barely noticeable, purely cosmetic and do not affect it’s function whatsoever.
2. The volume knob is missing. It was missing from when I bought it and I never got round to buying one as it really was not important to me. Please note, the actual volume control works as it should.
It sounds absolutely awesome, has been loved and very well looked after in a private studio (never gigged).
Everything works as it should with no scratchy pots or unwanted noise etc.

Ich versteigere aus meiner Sammlung einen KORG MS-20 Synthesizer. Das Gerät befindet sich in einem herausragenden Zustand, auf der Rückseite befinden sich zwei weiße Klebestreifen zum Schutz. Es wird im Original-Karton geliefert, allerdings ohne Styropor-Seitenteile.
