Moog, Prodigy @ 28 November 2011, “No Comments”

“Here’s a very rare opportunity to get an original Moog Prodigy 336A complete with its owner’s manual and original box – in outstanding condition!

I am selling this for the original owner, and we believe it’s from the first year of production for the Prodigy: 1979. It’s definitely 1979 or 1980 as can be discerned from the back panel configuration, which does not have the voltage/gate input (added in 1981). The manual also has a 1979 copyright. Moog carries serial # 8046

The moog itself is in outstanding condtion and was never gigged. In fact, it only really ever got light use in its entire lifetime and has been in storage for a number of years prior to putting it up for sale. It only shows the slightest signs of wear on the edge of the wood sides. The keys, knobs, surfaces, etc. are all super clean and in outstanding condition.

I have tested/played the Moog, and I found all functions to work perfectly. All pots/sliders/knobs have been properly cleaned and operate flawlessly and without any noise whatsoever. ” Link

Had this synth for 4 years and never had problem w/ it. the wood paneling may be a little worn and the pots may be a little dirty, but otherwise, this is a solid, well-maintained synthesizer w/ also a working string setting, which can be a little hard to find when looking for an opus 3. very clean with very few scratches, cosmetically extremely pleasant looking with very little wear and tear, aside from the wood panels which you can see in the pictures. even those arent that bad. priced to sell and as it is analog and vintage sold as is. i’m certain you will be happy with your purchase.

comes with the flight case i bought for it…an added plus.” Link

Link

“Moog the Source – rarer analog Synthesizer.
Link

“Condition

This item is not working. Sold as seen. The unit powers up (internal power supply does work), but no sound is heard from it at all. I understand that this unit:

needs to have its electrolytic capacitors replaced;
mains cable is split;
all parts seem to be intact except modulation wave selector switch tab on front which is broken off and will need replacing;
left hand controllers are stiff and will need to be cleaned;
there are water marks on the top on the left of the wooden casing of the synthesizer – French polish should remove these.

This vintage instrument will be of interest to someone who would like to oversee its restoration.” Link

“Moog Opus 3 Analog Synthesizer Vintage Synth Beautiful Condition.
This synth is in pretty amazing condition for it’s age.
Everything on it works and sounds great.
The plastic on the front is in good shape, but there is one tiny indentation near the stereo output mixer.
Some of the adhesive under the plastic has come loose, but if you don’t pull on it the plastic lays flat.
Either the sides are completely immaculate or someone refinished them because there are very few noticeable marks.
All the keys and sliders work.
A couple of the selector switches make the tiniest bit of noise when changing settings but that can probably be remedied with contact cleaner, which I just ran out of.
I guarantee that you will receive this synth in great working condition. ” Link

“Excelled condition vintage moog Micromoog analog monosynth. Excellent as in almost new for a 33 year old. All keys are straight and level, unlike others on ebay.
100% working, 100% in tune, 100% moog phattness!
Oscillator doubling: 1 or 2 octave:: adds a sub wave to your oscillator. Constant wave shaping on the oscillator from triangle to saw to square.
The filter is amazing. It even has an input.
It’s resonance is wet and dirty with osc mod to the filter. Ear candy
Only a Minimoog can come close to the sound it makes. except the Micromoog has modulation routings with an LFO.

It’s a scaled down mini, but with further mods..making it pretty sweet. It’s really light to carry and it stays in tune better.

it can sound as smooth as a minimoog but with a flip of a switch it can sound as mean as a future retro 777.

No scratchy knobs, No dents, no dings, no blems.
Recently serviced with new IC for the envelope contour section. A full cleaning and calibration.
All audio inputs and outputs on the back work. All control Voltage inputs and outputs work.
Studio kept, never gigged with.
Note: the only reason why it’s not mint is that the octave knob and mod routing knob wiggle a bit and feel loose. however they Functions perfectly. ” Link

“We are lucky to offer a very very nice Moog Satelite Synthesizer model 5330 with original manuals and box. The item is terrific shape for it’s age. Keys are in excellent condition, no cracks or marks. All switches are clean and in perfect alignment. I tested into a spare receiver and speakers (used y splitter) and it played super nice. Key contacts should be cleaned but all contacted and produced sound. Cosmeticly The left side on the back has a split in wood, as shown in pictures, and is seperated. Should be an easy fix with wood glue. There are also a couple of surface scratches on the top and a bit of marker/writing on back. Small piece of liner shows under upper contol panel. Flaws are mentioned for acuracy in listing. This is still a very good looking synthesizer.
I am not an expert but I was able to make most sounds and to make them change just like a synthesizer should. We are really lucky to get original manuals when we bought this. First is the Owners and Service manaul with full schematics. The second is the Registration Guide which gives you all the tips to accurately reproduce the sounds you want. Original box is in pretty good shape. Original shipping tag to Baltimore from Montgomery Ward Co. Item is 29″ wide, by 10″ deep, and 5″ tall.

viel spass beim bieten!” Link

Ach, Sie wissen immer…..

“You are bidding on a Moog Realistic MG-1 Concertmate synthesizer Model # 42-4000. This unit is in good physical shape, it has normal wear and tear for an instrument of it’s age but no obvious physical defects. The plug on the end of the cord has been professionally replaced. It is missing a couple knobs on sliders (see pics) but otherwise looks good. See pics for exact condition. I’m the second owner of this… I wanted to learn to use it, but I’m really a guitarist by nature and I’m not playing it as much as I hoped.
Note: in 1 of the pics you’ll see some keys marked with blue paper. These are keys I could not get to produce sound. I’ve read many places that this is normal behavior, that many setting will not produce sounds on certain keys, and that this is the intended function. I fiddle with the knobs a bit and was able to remove several pieces of paper as keys made noise when pressed. However since I cannot guarantee all the keys function, I must sell this ‘as is’ with no returns accepted. I have to sell it this way because I’m not knowledgeable enough to test this fully. It is possible it may work perfectly, or it may need some repair. All that said I was having a ton of fun jamming on it and it’s a very cool instrument. ” Link

Moog, Opus 3 @ 07 November 2011, “No Comments”

“This is a used Moog Opus 3 polyphonic organ/strings/brass synthesizer. Everything works on it. There are no missing or limited functions. All of the keys play. All of the voices work. I’ve cleaned out the dreaded “black goo” and reconditioned the sliders (cleaned & lubricated) so it should work hassle free for hopefully a long while. All of the slider caps are present and color correct for their section.

The wood is in great shape with no cracks or gouges. In the picture you can see a nick in the finish in the top right corner. It’s just the finish having rubbed off, not a break or cut in the wood. There is also some spots on the front piece of wood under the keybed where the finish has been rubbed off. You could very easily refinish the wood and have it looking pristine. The keys do not appear to have yellowed at all. They look pretty close to new.

I will include a printout of the user manual and service manual (neither are originals) and I can also email you PDFs of them. It’s always good to have the manuals handy. ” Link

CDX-0652, Cordovox, Moog @ 07 November 2011, “No Comments”

“1975 Cordovox dual combo organ with a Moog satellite built in!
There’s a built in bass section with a coupler and sustain, it has bass, guitar and vibrato depth for faders, you can make it sound like a Rheem bass keyboard, or more like a bass guitar, this whole section works great! The rest of the bottom organ is your straight vintage organ, think vox jaguar, definitely better sounding than any farfisa I ever played, there is a percussion section with repeat and mono, the effects for this do not all seem functioning, at least I don’t notice any percussion, but it sounds like an organ! Now for the top portion of the keyboard, the top is a moog satellite combined with the organ section, there are faders to blend them and basically you have the ability to make one louder than the other or match their volumes, you can great some great leads and all kinds of other great sounds just with that, there is also and octave section for the entire organ for whatever scale or key you want. There is modulation and a straight volume for just the moog and an on/off switch for the moog. The moog works and has presets, however there are minor issues with the moog, there is a tuner to tune the moog and this works and you will need it to match the moog to the organ because the moog doesn’t have completely stable tuning. Now every key on the moog does not sound completely, there is something up with the key assembly, I have opened it up and checked out the keying set up. I couldn’t figure it out with so many different keying operations, I think I may have it figured out but it’s too much of a project for me right now, there are three black keys that need replacing and one white one, they are plastic keys glued on metal and can be found on ebay, same keys as a polymoog and many other synths, they can usually be found cheap. All the keys are with it, it’s just the few I am referring to are cracked. I cleaned this thing out really well and scrubbed the outer shell, it’s a nice aged white. This was in storage for probably 15-20 years and she’s been cleaned up and is ready for a new owner to give her some TLC! I’d say it’s at least 75-80% functional and as a sweet double bar organ with a bass section, it’s 100% functional. There are 1/4″ outs underneath and a connection to hook up organ bass pedals to control the bass section is you wanted to wire some up it’d be pretty easy! I will ship via Fed Ex and buyer will pay actual shipping costs, so I will get you a shipping total afterward, however I don’t imagine it will be much more than $50-60, depending where you are, continental U.S. only! Pickup preferred and sold AS-IS, NO RETURNS! ” Link

“This particular synth is fully functional, and has had a considerable amount of time and money thrown at it to bring it up to a good spec. Most of the original stiff & noisy slider pots – along with a couple of switches – have been changed for new equivalents, after carefully having removed the notorious sticky felt surrounding the originals, and having cleaned the PCBs. It also has a complete new set of knobs and slider caps (all identical to the original). The old and unsafe internal U.S. transformer has been swapped out for a UK/ European 240V version, along with a new double-pole on/off switch, and new wiring (most of these synths were originally fitted out for the U.S. market). The three power supply voltage regulators have been re-seated on their heatsinks with new thermal compound, and the four phono / RCA type output sockets on the rear which had oxidised have been swapped with high- quality gold-plated equivalants, so poor connectivity problems shouldn’t be an issue. Finally the keyboard tracking, oscillators and filter have all been calibrated according to the MG-1 service manual. Therefore technically this synth is in very good order.

Cosmetically it does have a few small blemishes, but nothing that affects its playability or sound. The front panel (overlay only) has a couple of hairline-sized crack marks on it running vertically. However as the panel on which this is fixed (as with the rest of the synth casing) is machined from a heavy steel, this in no way compromises rigidity of the unit. There is one light vertical scuff mark on the paint on the back panel near the connector sockets. Also, whilst all keys are intact and properly aligned, the black keys have some light scuff marks, and two of the black keys and four of the white keys have marks where some small drops of solvent or corrosive liquid have dropped onto them. These marks range in size from about 4mm diameter, to about 20mm in length (see picture of the largest), and although can be felt as a rough patch by finger tips, are the same colour as the keys and are therefore barely visible when playing a normal distance away from the keyboard.

The serial number of the synth is 4686 and it comes complete with a user manual copy.” Link

“Here’s a Moog Satellite Analog Synthesizer. This has been repaired and most everything works. The cabinet wood has a fair number of dings and scrapes, as can be seen in the pictures, but it is in solid condition. The sliders and buttons all function. This is a single oscillator preset instrument with some minimal control to alter the preset sounds. The web has many good resources for this instrument, including manuals for free.

Know issues:
Even though I spent a lot of time cleaning the keyboard contacts a handful of keys still double trigger once in a while. Maybe the contacts need yet another cleaning, but I’ve already spent too much time on this, so I am leaving that up to the new owner.
Two of the preset tabs have broken off, but there’s still enough left to operate them with your fingers.
The wooden case has seen better days, but there is no water damage and the case is solid.
The instrument was tuned about two years ago, but it now sounds slightly out of tune at the extremes of its sonic ranges, ie very high or low notes.” Link

Pitch wheel, 49 keys, and modulation section. Designed by Herb Deutsch, who originally steered Robert Moog into building synthesizers, and later worked for Moog Music. Minimoog, Moog @ 24 October 2011, “No Comments”

“Excelled condition vintage moog Micromoog analog monosynth.

It’s really light to carry and it stays in tune better.” Link

Moog, Prodigy @ 24 October 2011, “No Comments”

“Vintage Moog Prodigy Analog Synthesizer in used but decent shape considering it’s age. has some minor flaws: one key has a corner cracked off, missing two switch covers, and some minor surface rust on screws. synth powers up and plays fine all switches knobs, and wheels are working. original stain on wood side in nice shape.” Link
