“Rare hybrid Cordovox combo organ / Moog synth in a snazzy mod case. Sometimes referred to as the “White Elephant” — This particular example needs work and is a good candidate for a parts machine or restoration project. Also, the case could make a very cool “shell” for other more modern keyboards or controllers. This was done by Beck’s keyboard player for stage use and it’s a cool look. The organ section basically works but the bass and percussion voices do not and the synth section does not presently produce any sound. No further testing was or will be done. Slider caps but otherwise complete. Sold as-is – for local pickup only in Los Angeles (North Hollywood area) ” Link

“ORGAN TURNS ON ALL THE KEYS MAKE SOUND. SOME ARE LOUDER THAN OTHERS . MAY BE THE VOLUME CONTROLS. VIBRATO WORKS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS, I AM NOT SURE HOW TO RUN THIS ITEM BUT IT HAS ALOT OF CRAZY SOUNDS, THE THE WHITE CASE HAS SCRATCHES, ONE OF THE KEYS HAS PART OF THE KEY MISSING AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. ORGAN ALSO COMES WITH FARFISA BASS PEDAL THE PLUG ON THE BASS PEDAL PLUGS DIRECTLY INTO THE ORGAN,. I CAN NOT GET ANY SOUND OUT OF THE BASS PEDALS . LOW RESERVE” Link
PHYSICAL CONDITION – Good. The housing has faded yellow over time, there are scuffs and scratches, the synth control panel on the top has some slight bends in it, the left side slider control section on the upper manual is bent some as well, but it looks good overall for a vintage piece.
WORKING CONDITION – Fair. The upper manual has the middle C and D# keys with springs out/ broken where the keys sound, but do not sit flush or feel right/ tight. The lower manual has the lower A & A flat keys sticking together, the middle B has some intermittent contact with the percussion sounds, and the G2 & G#2 keys have some intermittent contact issues with the main organ sounds. The organ section is the only sounds working, including the vibrato and percussion. The synthesizer section does NOT seem to be functioning at all, including the bass notes, filter/ modulation, or any voices/ settings on the top control panel.
This is very typical of this model, they are almost never working properly and require a dedicated servicing. Many owners gut the electronics and put new electronics and keys inside the shell since it looks so retro- futuristic. ” Link
“Mint functional condition and excellent physical condition – couple of blemishes on outer cover (from cigarettes perhaps), some extremely light pitting/rust on chrome legs (rust seems to be stable and is not spreading), small blemish in paint on the bass pedals, scratches and dents on the various faceplates and throughout the unit – all consistent with light use and little to no gigging.” Link
“This organ is in good working order Plays and sounds the best and is in the best shape of them all. very clean, and very unique and unusual. Sorry, does not include include legs — fits on a standard keyboard stand (not included). Vintage organ, so sold as-is. These are super hard to find, and you won’t find any other organs like them! Also, one of the only organs (maybe the only one?!?) that lights up — all lights working properly ” Link
“VERY RARE MOOG WHITE ELEPHANT. PARTS OR REPAIR, AS IS, NO REFUNDS. SYNTHESIZER HAS NO OUTPUT, NO OTHER TESTING HAS BEEN OR WILL BE DONE. SOME OF THE BLACK KEYS ARE CRACKED, AND SOME OF THE WHITE ONES STICK DOWN. KEYBOARD IS LOADED WITH DUST AND WILL NEED A THOROUGH CLEANING IM SURE. PLEASE REVIEW ALL PICTURES FOR FULL DETAILS. THE CROSSBAR FOR THE STAND IS MISSING AND I AM SURE THE KEYBOARD WILL NEED REPAIRS FOR PROPER OPERATION. ” Link
“This is a MOOG CDX 0652 Cordovox “White Elephant”. I’ve owned it since 1976 and has been sitting my garage(s) since. The original white cover is missing, also the metal legs. The organ portion works (makes noise). All keys seem to function, the slides all move freely. The MOOG top slides are missing their plastic knobs. The MOOG portion (upper keyboard) also make noise and the flip switches on the top panel all move freely. Once again, it turns on and plays normally…for how long is anyone’s guess.” Link
Manufactured as a collaboration between Moog (synthesizer company) and Cordovox (Accordian/organ Company) through Norlin Music this instrument is really unlike anything else. The top manual is a Moog Synthesizer and the bottom manual is a Cordovox organ.
I have listed this auction “FOR PARTS/NOT WORKING” -however the unit is mostly working. The Moog section needs some calibration as these units often do. I recently moved the piece from my studio in Philadelphia, PA to my home in Wilmington, DE and the tuning and functions of the moog section are now a bit out of whack. All keys trigger, and every switch effects the instrument as I believe it should. Perhaps my favorite part of the instrument is on the right hand side – called “Percussion”and acts as a very functional cutoff for the organ. The synth can also be “coupled” to turn the top section in an extra keyboard for the Cordovox. Just writing about this synth makes me wish I wasn’t in a position where I have to sell it.
Cosmetically speaking – the synthesizer is looking pretty sharp. All slider caps, switches, sliders, and buttons are present and function. All keys are also present though a few have a cracks on them and cause them to stick down when pressed – these should likely be replaced. The labeling of functions is clear and readable. The chrome faceplates that adorn the instrument are pretty shiny though have a scratchy sort of look – observe pictures – The aluminum “moog” strip along the top of the instrument is clean and straight (I’ve seen many dented and bent) The “white” part of the white elephant (the huge fiberglass shell that plops over top is solid and without cracks – there are a few holes that I’m not sure are original – some which look to be for a music stand and/or supporting another instrument or rack to fasten to it. – there is also some sticker residue on one side – but nothing major.
Also included is the original “CDX” chrome legs and their original black carrying case.
Also included is an unmarked pedal that connects via 5-pin cable and I believe is used to control volume/filter swells though this piece remains untested. ” Link
“I’m not sure what this thing is. It makes some sounds but it is difficult to get anything out of it. Picture 8 shows missing plastic beads which are necessary for isolation of the leaf as well as proper actuation of the leaf. The case is real fiberglass and it comes with a stand and red zipper case. The aluminum plates under the linear faders have light scratches and dullness. There are no signs of modifications repairs or broken parts wires or boards. Electronic components look fine. The 60 mm faders are fine and interlocking switches are smooth. There are more than a couple power supply boards and no doubt that the electrolytic caps have to be replaced. More info as it comes in.” Link
“1975 Cordovox dual combo organ with a Moog satellite built in!
There’s a built in bass section with a coupler and sustain, it has bass, guitar and vibrato depth for faders, you can make it sound like a Rheem bass keyboard, or more like a bass guitar, this whole section works great! The rest of the bottom organ is your straight vintage organ, think vox jaguar, definitely better sounding than any farfisa I ever played, there is a percussion section with repeat and mono, the effects for this do not all seem functioning, at least I don’t notice any percussion, but it sounds like an organ! Now for the top portion of the keyboard, the top is a moog satellite combined with the organ section, there are faders to blend them and basically you have the ability to make one louder than the other or match their volumes, you can great some great leads and all kinds of other great sounds just with that, there is also and octave section for the entire organ for whatever scale or key you want. There is modulation and a straight volume for just the moog and an on/off switch for the moog. The moog works and has presets, however there are minor issues with the moog, there is a tuner to tune the moog and this works and you will need it to match the moog to the organ because the moog doesn’t have completely stable tuning. Now every key on the moog does not sound completely, there is something up with the key assembly, I have opened it up and checked out the keying set up. I couldn’t figure it out with so many different keying operations, I think I may have it figured out but it’s too much of a project for me right now, there are three black keys that need replacing and one white one, they are plastic keys glued on metal and can be found on ebay, same keys as a polymoog and many other synths, they can usually be found cheap. All the keys are with it, it’s just the few I am referring to are cracked. I cleaned this thing out really well and scrubbed the outer shell, it’s a nice aged white. This was in storage for probably 15-20 years and she’s been cleaned up and is ready for a new owner to give her some TLC! I’d say it’s at least 75-80% functional and as a sweet double bar organ with a bass section, it’s 100% functional. There are 1/4″ outs underneath and a connection to hook up organ bass pedals to control the bass section is you wanted to wire some up it’d be pretty easy! I will ship via Fed Ex and buyer will pay actual shipping costs, so I will get you a shipping total afterward, however I don’t imagine it will be much more than $50-60, depending where you are, continental U.S. only! Pickup preferred and sold AS-IS, NO RETURNS! ” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“Getting these Moog all tuned up and ready for studio use was a chore but its alive and working perfect my audio tech had to replace some of the Original tuning pots and go through everything for tuning adjustments and cleaning so you should be very happy with performance when you get this moog.
NOTE: MY AUDIO TECH STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT THIS MOOG NOT BE SHIPPED DO TO THE FACT THAT IT WILL HAVE TO BE RE-TUNED AGAIN SO PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF YOU HAVE THIS MOOG SHIPPED THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE THAT YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE IT WORKED ON.
this moog is really old and big!! the chances of it arriving in a shipment even after packing it up supper good with a ton of bubble wrap and double boxing it most likely will get things jerked around inside the guts of the moog. ” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“versteigere voll Funktionstüchtige und Mega rare Vintage Orgel der Marke Cordovox/ Moog CDX-0652. Unter Sammlern ist diese Orgel auch als “White Elephant” bekannt. Im wesentlichen ist es eine Cordovox Orgel (Farfisa ähnlicher Sound) mit einem Moog Satellite im Upper Manual. Die Orgel kommt komplett mit Original Standbeinen und dem Original Volume Pedal, sowie der Original Tasche für die Standbeine.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“First the good…Overall in really good shape. The organ section works flawlessly…all of the keys work and it sounds really cool. The bass pedal also works fine. All of the original pieces are here. The is the first one I’ve ever seen that has all of the original cases and bass pedal…and WORKS! Oh yeah, IT LOOKS COOL as HELL!!!
Now for the bad… The synth section has issues. For the most part it is not functional. I opened it up once and got it to work a few times by wiggling some wires but really never cared enough to get it professionally looked at. The preset synth buttons have some sticky stuff on them making them a little hard to depress. There is one slider cap missing as you can see in the pic.( I actually have it around here somewhere and would send it to you once found). The volume pedal wire is disconnected from the pedal.( probably not a hard fix for someone who knows what they’re doing. Some of the chrome has come off the legs. Finally, there is a small chip in the shell on the left front corner( I tried to photograph it but it didn’t really turn out so well).
I think with a little TLC and analog expertise this thing will perform like it did in 1975! If you’re a collector get this! You may not see one this complete for awhile. Here’s a little info from the web about it.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“Ultra rare CDX-0642 double tier Organ for the 1970s here! Just try and find another one! Be the coolest kid in your block. You turn up to practice with this thing and you will be worshipped! Ok the problems. Not everything works here folks. You can watch the video for all the details… but mostly a few dead keys on the lower tier. Some of the features are just plain weird and not sure if that’s “by design” or something is wrong with them. This thing has some seriously weird sounds borderline Moog or ARP sounds. Phaser, tremolo, wah wah, drawbars, even a harp and awesome solo tweak feature. Please, please don’t bid expecting this to be a perfectly 100% flawless working organ! Its about oh 90% working and i think could be brought back to life completely for a few 100 by your local tech. Some of the jacks are input jacks are staticy and there are a lot of crakly pots ect. ” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

“Well here it is, one of the rarest Organs/Synthesizers on the planet. The infamous Moog “White Elephant” it’s not really called that or anything it’s just given that nick name by collectors. Its real name is much more serious and boring: Organ CDX – 062 made by Norlen Music Inc based out of Chicago. It doesn’t even say Moog on the label, only on the panel itself! I’ve seen only 2 or 3 of these EVER in last 5 years, let alone for sale. This is pretty much the crown jewel of any Moog Synthesizer collector.
I’m not sure every feature works perfectly but then again I’m not sure I know how to use the thing either. There are two output jacks in the bottom I’m thinking that you are suppose to have them both plugged in? They don’t say anything but it may be UPPER and LOWER keyboards (or possible–>synth and organ).
May need a little TLC to get EVERY feature 100% working. Right now I would say most of the features work. I couldn’t get the draw-bars to happen and a few “sounds” did nothing? Problems are to be expected with a organ like this! That sold as is. ” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.

“THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE VINTAGE USED MOOG CDX-O-652 CORDOVOX ORGAN/SYNTHESIZER WHITE ELEPHANT.THIS UNIT LOOKS GOOD FOR ITS AGE.IT IS MISSING SOME SLIDER KNOBS, AND I AM NOT SURE IF THE STEMS ARE BROKE, BUT I CAN MOVE THE SLIDERS UP AND DOWN EASILY WITH A TOOTHPICK.ALL THE OTHER KNOBS AND BUTTONS ARE STILL ATTACHED AND MOVE FREELY.THE UNIT POWERS UP BUT I CAN NOT TEST IT ANY FURTHER BECAUSE I HAVE NO PEDAL OR CABLES AND I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON THESE TYPE OF MACHINES.I did plug this organ in and it powered on. I will guarantee that this powers on but beyond that, I can’t test it. All the slides, switches and knobs operate smoothly. SO I AM SELLING IT “AS IS HOW IS”I HAVE ADDED ALOT OF PICTURES OF BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, SO PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES BEFORE BIDDING. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU WILL PICK UP.THIS IS A PICK UP ONLY AUCTION DUE TO THE WEIGHT AND SIZE OF THE UNIT.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
“Wow!!! Thats a lot of info! I suggest you google this model so you will know exactly what it will do. I have tested this one extensively and everything works. This one even comes with the original stand and red leatherette carry bag(sorry the zipper is trashed). Cosmetically, this one is in good shape. The color has yellowed a bit and the yellowing is a bit splotchey, and there seems to be the beginning of cracks on the plastic on the edges(see photo) but overall pretty clean. These don’t turn up everyday so get it while you can!” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
