“I am selling some of my vintage analog synths from my smoke free home studio. This beast has 4 oscillators (one more than the almighty Minimoog). I have used this board for bass lines and screaming leads. It, as most vintage analogs, enjoys playing havoc on tuning issues, but the thickness of the sound is hard to beat. This board also includes a road case that will be used to ship the synth. There is also the original owner’s manual as well as a photocopy of the schematics for those who are brave enough to open up and look inside. Cosmetically, the board has no issues. The autos damp switch works correctly, but is a little more flimsy than the others. I have never had a problem with the functionality of the switch.” Link

“For sale is a vintage Korg Mono/Poly analog synthesizer. This synth is in nice shape and is fully functional. Cosmetically the fake “wood” is a bit rough, showing chips and scruffs and a little cracking. but the front is very clean. It’s also missing two of the rubber feet so it sits a little crooked, you can easily find replacement feet online for cheap. Amazing sounds, really underrated synth for your analog needs, with four voices capable of thick mono and poly chords, awesome filter, arpeggiator and effects section. See pictures below for more details. Don’t miss out!” Link

“This auction is for my Korg monopoly , I have owned this synth for 17 years and unfortunately with much regret I have decided to Auction her off ; soon to be followed by the rest of my synth collection.

The synth has had a great life , I bought it from this lovely old hippy in Cornwall who had bought it from new in order to make “Hawkwind” sounds.

I used it for about 3 years in a home studio and has been stored away since 1996.

I won’t go into the ins and out in detail but just quickly it has 4 voices that can be played as a thick mono synth or as a 4 voice poly synth , there are a great deal of cross modulation possibilites and the arpeggiator is cracking especially if used in the poly synth mode. You can hear it in actionin the Giorgio Moroder classic below.

The synth can be controlled with a standard oct/volt cv gate controller and has a number of external cv / trigger possibilites aswell as being able to sync the arpeggiator .

Since firing her up today and having a good play everything works perfectly it sounds great all switches ,buttons work perfectly , all the keys work and all pots are perfect to stickiness and no scratchiness whatsoever.

The silk screening on the front panel is in excellent condition no scratches or worn missing lettering.
Sonically it is 100% you couldn’t get a better one as far as sound and functionality goes.

Now the cosmetic bits that stop it being mint

It does have a couple of small chips in the piant along the back edge of the case and small mark on the front face. There are also 2 tiny scratches on the Korg monopoly logo on the front but they are so small you have to look hard to see them.

On one of the keys “G” the shiny veneer has come away , replacements for sale as we speak ebay item number 280699815199 for £4.95 plus £1.50 postage which i think is pretty good.
If you buy the synth and want to get a new key to me I can replace it before I send it.

Unfortunately the laminated end panels are showing their age some of the plastic is chipped peeling and underneath at the back is back to the chipboard.

I have listed numerous pictures to show their conditon ,but remember the 2 worn edges are where the synth sits and can only be seen if you turn the synth upside down .

I hope I’m not putting you off but I’d rather give you as much info on the cosmetics as I can.
I want you to be delighted with your new synth not upset that I had withheld anything.

I know some people can be quite fussy and I know myself theres nothing worse than something niggling
you after a purchase especially a vintage synth.” Link

Main and headphone outputs are working

There is some cosmetic wear on
wooden sides (see Pics)

Unison button key is missing cap (see photo)
This does not affect functionality

Effects on/off switch sometimes sticks.
It works, but may have to be pressed a few times
to turn on or off.

“This one is in pretty great shape folks. A really nice, clean example albeit the dust of the knob-tacular Korg Mono/Poly. Every knob works as it should and every key makes it’s note when played. I’ve owned this for many years in a smoke free home. It’s been in storage for about 4 years and I don’t use her anymore. She has one slightly dented corner as pictured and the piece of Velcro stuck near the pitch bend wheel hides where some previous owner looks to have rested a cig and left a tiny melt mark, dumb nob. Other than the above mentioned I’d go as far as saying this is in the 90% condition range. Playability: all keys are even and straight and function. You have to let her warm up a bit but once she’s hot, she’s stable and makes some amazing sounds. There are 6 keys which hum a little when played but only when the attack is all the way off for some reason. They seem to have dirty contacts maybe? I don’t know, Im not a tech. It didnt do it before I put it into storage but does now, maybe just needs a thorough leaning or to be really warmed up and played, I just don’t have the time. Other than that this thing really served me well and even made it onto a synth album a friend of mine has.” Link

“This posting is for a fully-functional Korg Mono/Poly. Internally, the PCBs are in great shape, and cosmetically the keyboard, wheels, and metal housing are in good shape too. The particle board casing is not in the best shape, there is some slight ‘erosion’ on the bottom of the side pieces (see photos below). Sonically, the Mono/Poly is in excellent shape – superb analog sound and a great signal to noise ratio.

I added two modifications that I found highly useful – I disabled the Arpeggio reset, and disabled the automatic defaulting to Unison mode when Effect mode is turned on. Disabling the arpeggio reset keeps the arpeggiator ‘in time’ when playing – you won’t accidentally get off-beat when you play a chord early. Disabling the ‘Unison default on Effect mode selection’ allows for more intuitive play – the effect section is simply turned on (and off) by pressing Effects (rather than additionally switching to Unison mode). Info on the modifications can be found here.

” Korg Mono/Poly. Contacts recently cleaned and all keys are working. Great sounding synth. The laminated particle board is a little rough but it is almost 30 years old. The top is in good shape all knobs and switches are in working order. The pots sound good so I did not do anything with them. Missing one rubber foot on the bottom of the synth. 1 small dent in the back near the 1/4′ output. This is not a museum piece but will make for an excellent player. “A True Classic Vintage Analog Synth! The KORG MONO/POLY. Excellent condition, everything works 100%!!! Creates STUNNING synth sweeps, pads, and is equipped with 4 oscillators, an awesome one touch Arpeggiator, and on-board effects!

Extremely Clean, 100% working – each nob, button, switch, and ALL KEYS. Nothing flaky, perfect working order. The wood casing itself has a few bruises (see pics), but the face board is remarkably clean. (Case not included)

“All electrolytic capacitors replaced on all circuit boards
Key contacts, tactile button, and switches cleaned and restored
Key contacts raised 1mm for excellent sensitivity and improved action
All new custom solid hardwood maple case
Fully tuned and calibrated
All circuits and systems are 100% functional and sound great!

This Korg Mono/Poly has been fully restored to its original condition and beyond! On the outside, the original particle board and veneer case has been replaced with a solid hardwood maple case. Cosmetically, this Mono/Poly is even better looking than a standard stock model in excellent condition.

Korg used low quality electrolytic capacitors that have a high failure rate after 20 years. Most Mono/Polys still have these original capacitors and they are very likely to cause problems like instability and failed systems. We’ve replaced all 57 electrolytic capacitors in the synth to guarantee that this one won’t see problems for a long time.

Another common problem with this model is that the key contacts lose their conductivity, which causes keys to stop triggering. All the key contacts have been cleaned and restored to full sensitivity. The key action has also been modified to improve the feel and sensitivity by raising the key contacts 1mm.

We’ve inspected and calibrated all systems in this synth and guarantee it to be in 100% perfect order. ” Link

Potentiometer: Zahlreiche Potis kratzen.

Link

“Verkaufe hier meinen wenig gebrauchten Korg Mono/Poly Synthesizer.

gedacht.Bis zu vierstimmige Akkorde sind möglich.” Link

“I am parting with my cherished Korg Monopoly. The synth is in wonderful condition. I have owned for about 15 years and the synth has been well cared for. I regularly de-oxed the pots and there is not a single scratch to be heard on any of the knobs. Everything is in top notch condition. I would rate this a 95% cosmetically and mechanically. The wooden side panels don’t have a single scratch. ” Link

“I have up for bids here one really cool Korg Mono Poly Keyboard Synthesizer. I have plugged this unit in, tested all the keys and had a little fun playing around with the keyboard. In no way am I am an expert in musical instruments, or music for that manner, but this unit appears to be in good working condition. I can honestly say that this until I plugged this unit today (7/8/11) this unit had not been used for about 15 years. When it was used, it was used very little, thus the great shape that it is in. Please take a look at the pictures to judge the condition for yourself.

I am the original owner. I used this synth basically for home for recording. Smoke/pet free environment. I haven’t used it in a few years and right now I am forced to reduce my instrument inventory.

Overall the synth is in good shape. It NEEDS a good cleaning. Pots need to be blown out and some of the keys aren’t triggering due dust? I pulled the keyboard out and there is a long trigger mechanism board under the keys. When I push on the rubber contactors, they all trigger, but when I re install it under the keyboard, the keys don’t hit the rubber?? Don’t know what’s going on there. You can get a surprising range of sounds out of this synth and it contains some pretty unique features as well.
If you’re not familiar with these you can find a basic description of the features on vintagesynth.com and find plenty of videos on youtube.

All functions working perfectly.

“Here’s a lovely Korg Mono/Poly. It’s in great condition for its age, there are some scratches and chips on the wood panels, but nothing major. Everything works as it should with the exception of the top E sharp key, which occasionally delays before triggering, this usually goes away after playing it for awhile and I imagine cleaning the key contacts should resolve this issue permanently.

Usual wear& tear for a Vintage synth , wood has some signs of age . Still , generaly speaking I do think that KORG still looks great .

All buttons and switches are present , nothing missing . All Keys are working .

FULLY WORKING BUT IT MIGHT HAVE SMALL ISSUES LIKE DUST ON SOME CONTACTS OR OTHER SMALL ISSUES . NOTHING MAJOR – ANALOGUE SYNTHS FROM THE PAST ARE NOT LATEST KORG WORKSTATIONS SO YOU CAN EXPECT SOME ANALOGUE NOISE ; OR SOME BUTTONS NOT BEING PERFECT .

VINTAGE COLLECTORS KEYBOARD

“I Recently acquired this immaculate Momo/Poly. It was bought brand new almost 30 years ago and was in the hands of the same owner and hardly used, then stored away safely in the case. It was purchased with the original Korg hard case and the three special control pedals. It also has the original Japanese manual and setting charts.

With a friend who is also a Mono/Poly owner it was extremely carefully tested today wearing cotton gloves, and all functions are just perfect. The sound is so clear and amazing.

I replaced the original batteries (30 years old, never been changed) in the ms-01 & ms-04, and these rare pedals both work beautifully. The ps -1 switch of course works perfectly as well.

The cosmetic condition of the synth is well……just stunning (the photos really don’t do it justice). There isn’t a mark on it. it’s like brand new. The pedals are also in lovely condition.

The hard case is a bit grubby and has some marks as you would expect.

This really is a serious chance for someone who wants this amazing synthesizer in mint condition, with the original accessories. I would say one like this has probably never been offered before.

This synth is 100v 50’60 hz, you may need a power transformer depending on your country.” Link
