“This one is in excellent condition and working 100%. It has been serviced by Kevin Lightner and needs nothing. There are some small imperfections here and there, but check out the photos and judge the condition for yourself. As you can see, this is an early “muSonics” Minimoog (serial # 1256) which are rarely seen. I believe this one was made late in 1971. These early models are a bit different than those made later; Metal face with incremental graphics, walnut cabinet, squared back panel, clear pitch/mod wheels, no voltage selection like later units, older oscillator card (RA Moog stamp), and a few other things.
I kept the original “lamp style” power cord on it as it’s still in great shape and I wanted to keep this one as original as I could. This Minimoog will come with a newly foamed road case to help insure it’s condition.
Cosmetically- The original walnut cabinet and black bottom cover was restored by Analogics and as always Wes did a great job. Especially for a cabinet that’s nearly 40 years old. It has a new set of knobs (from the original company that supplied them early on), a new set of keys, a re-anodized back panel, new Switchcraft washers & nuts, many new screws throughout, and the fuse holder caps have been replaced.

Internally- Apart from any repairs, it has been disassembled and cleaned, new electrolytic capacitors (all boards/rectifier board, power supply), all jacks, switches, potentiometers, trims, modulation section connectors, and edge card connectors cleaned, inspected and resoldered PCB solder connections, tightened power transformer mounting, tightened heatsinks on power supply board, nuts tightened on all selector switches and pots. Keyboard disassembled, key contacts cleaned, bussbar polished, new key bushings (action feels great), keyboard leveled, and the synth has been fully calibrated.” Link

I say sadly ‘cos I need the money to fix my shitty life and it’s just difficult to let go. As far as I know, I’m the third owner. The first being a Christian church of some kind. Can you imagine that in a service? Godly! The next owners were a band called \m/ The Angel Butchers \m/. How crazy is that? And finally I bought it from them and now here it is.

The serial number is 6635. This one has NOT been modified with the newer style oscillators. It’s in excellent condition and was serviced by a professional technician.

It comes with the original manual and an Input Ext S-Trig plug.” Link

” You are bidding on my 1974 Minimoog Model D, serial # 5479 and a custom pedalboard setup. This nice Moog is in great shape with no issues whatsoever. The keyboard was professionally rebuilt about a year ago with new bushings, so it plays like a brand new unit. All electronics work perfectly and sound great. In addition there is the custom pedalboard. The board has pedals for pitch bend, modulation, volume, and Delay hold. This frees up your left hand to play another synth while you play lead on the mini. It takes a little practice, but is really cool when mastered. Please note that the wah wah pedal pictured is NOT included. But that will leave an open space for any effect you would like to add yourself. There is a 9 Volt power cable running to that location on the board, so you can add your own wah pedal or echo, or any other 9 Volt powered effect box. Of course, the mini can be used without the pedal board and behaves normally. A “Null Plug” (pictured) is included which plugs into the pedalboard port for use without the Pedalboard. The moog also has the trigger mod (which I have not ever tried, it was there when I bought it). Also, the unit has the Oscillator sync mod, which allows you to sync oscillators 2 and 3 to oscillator 1. This is a great feature for live performance when you don’t have time to tune on stage. This is also great for some additional sounds if you set the oscillators to different octaves. This moog is really clean and as you can see the wooden case has an unusual amount of flame or tiger stripe in the wood. For some reason, the pictures exaggerated this, and it is not quite as dramatic as it appears in the photos. The pictures make the instrument look a little better than it actually is overall, still, it is the most amount of flame I have ever seen in an original Mini case. If you were to refinish it properly, you could make it really stunning. ” Link

They have a thicker/jucier sound than regular minimoogs, and absolutely blow the new ones out of the water. It’s in PERFECT condition and works flawlessly. Just cleaned by a tech. There are zero issues. This is a near museum piece. Local pickup and audition is welcomed. The metal sticker on the back is not completely there and does not show serial number. However, looking at the internal components, the serial number is around the 1300-1310 area. I realized I didn’t post a picture of the LEFT side. But it’s perfect, no blemishes. ” Link

I powered it up and tested it in said studio before taking it home. It sounded great; all knobs and switches functioned smoothly. This was something I’d always fantasized about finding and keeping but the time has come to sell a bunch of gear. Keys, knobs and faceplate all look great; wood has quite a few scratches on it as pictured. Please see the pictures below and judge for yourself.

The Minimoog can be heard on many recordings from such major artists as Stevie Wonder, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Laurie Anderson and many others. This synthesizer has been emulated digitally because of it’s popularity, but this is the original analog synth with unlimited programming capabilities . The case, keys and all controls are fully operational and in excellent condition. In the photographs, you will find some very minor scratches on the case. This is to be expected from from an instrument over 35 years old. This synthesizer is part of an estate containing musical instruments and recording studio equipment and was bought as an investment by the owner. It has not been taken outside of the studio and is in near perfect condition.” Link

After all these years, I am selling my MiniMoog, serial # 10888 ( or 10388…hard to tell.)

I purchased it in 1988 from one of the guys in my band, GIANT. I am the second owner, and it has never been taken out of my home. I have only powered it up a few times in the last 20 some years. It is working perfectly…ALL ORIGINAL…NO MODIFICATIONS. It’s in excellent condition with just a few very minor imperfections in the wooden case.

Really punchy, huge bottom end, oscillators are all tracking very nicely. I will sell it in the ANVIL FLIGHT CASE it came in when I bought it.” Link

# Serial number No 8778.
# The Moogs case is original.
# Very stable tuning especially after the usual warm up time that real oscilators require.
# Recent oscilator calibration and it has new key bushings so its key action is sweet.
# Sounds awesome as minimoogs just do.
# The only imperfections I can comment on is 1. a scratched low G key 2. the power indicator light has started flickering sometimes. I’ll let you change the bulb. (my mates model D did the same thing so he tells me ) 3. the pitch and mod wheels have developed slight cracks in the plastic which is normal for this type of wheel as I understand given their age . These imperfections do not to my eyes and ears effect the performance or visual aspect of the instrument.
# Free aluminium flight case included to ensure it travels safe and securely.” Link

He was very gracious and broke into a big grin when he saw it, as of course he recognized right away what it was. In fact, he held it up for others to see, taking a bit of delight, I’m sure, in asking who else knew what this little wooden stick was! Since that day I have always treated this instrument as a reminder of the moment I got to meet the late, great grandfather of synthesizers and have cherished his signature on it as a direct link between his hands and the legendary instrument he created. Of all the Minis out there, how many have that distinction?” Link

Serial Number 4921.

Dated June 1974.

Cosmetics: The Mini is complete and in excellent condition. The wooden case has seen better days, but the faceplate is fantastic as is the rest of it. I had half planned to get a new cabinet from Analogics at http://www.analogics.org/product.html but in the end decided that I like it the way nature intended. It feels like it could tell some stories. However, that may be something the new owner considers in the future. Analogics certainly make lovely cabinets.

Functionality: As I understand it, the previous owner bought the Mini as part of a studio sale in need of TLC. Roughly two and a half years ago, It was given to UK synth restoration king James Walker of Synth Repair Services where he worked his magic and restored it to a superb standard. You can see the before and after pics below. The keybed was re-set and re-bushed and some keys replaced, new knobs installed, the original plastic faceplate covering was still attached so James removed it – revealing a beautifully clean original faceplate, some work was undertaken to repair the pitch and mod wheel section and it was fully serviced. I have owned this Mini for a little over two years, it came straight from James and the restoration is fantastic. I have never had a problem. It’s a dream to play and, after a warm up, the tuning is spot on.

This is a voltage switchable model. Original osc. circuit board.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have. If you want to have a chat over the phone about anything, please message me through ebay with your number and I’ll call you back.” Link

Link

Originally owned by Grammy Award Winning record producer and songwriter, Walter Afanasieff, and later bought by 39th Street Music in NYC where it was used by the likes of Brian Eno, Laurie Anderson and many others during the 1980’s – 2000’s. NON UK BUYERS MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING

THIS IS A 240 volt 50 hz device!

This is an auction for a nearly 40 year old classic synthesizer, the original Minimoog. This one was built in 1972. It is a working machine which has recorded and been studio based for the past 5 years. The metal rear cover is signed by synthesizer legend Rick Wakeman the synth was probably built while he was recording “Close To The Edge”- (photographic proof of signing provided)

The serial number is 2469, and the circuit board is the rich and creamy second revision. The tuning has been stabilised so that hassle free playing can be done after a 15 minute warm up. The S-Trig (CV) has been replaced by a 1/4 inch mono jack. The CV inputs have been modded to allow easier control using a Midi to CV converter. Way back in time the PITCH wheel was replaced by a genuine MOOG mini ribbon controller, making this machine somewhat rare. The Keyboard is the original. The case is in good condition, has been repolished and has a brand new Minimoog badge.

Problems: The occasional “loopy note” is liable with all the old Minimoog keyboard beds… and this one is no exception. I accept it as part of its charm. The lowest few notes on the keyboard are most susceptible. One of the keys has been repaired with a visible mend. This was probably around 25 years ago….” Link

For international Bidders:The Minimoog is in goog condition.A few keys need bleeching, the “bushings” underneath the keyboard have been replaced.Smooth action. The Moog has been modified by a well known german specialist to accept CV/Gate Signals from the Roland MPU 101 that is part of the auction.A Moog Controller Pedal comes with it to control various parameters like the filter.I have some new replacement knobs that i will send with the package. The Moog will be travelling in his own case, that you see on the pictures.” Link

” Link

As you can see from the photos and youtube video link! This baby is in great condition! Everything is working and i have just tuned it. The only mod done to this Mini is the master tuning pot and the tuning pots for oscillators 2 and 3 have all been upgraded to 10x pots! this means each pot turns 10 times to make one complete turn, This gives much finer control of the tuning and helps with stability without effecting the sound. Some people have made the mistake of modifying the minimoog to have perfect tuning then wonder why its lost its great fat sound!! cosmetic condition is very good with only a few minor marks on the wood, and one very small mark on one of the keys. this was triggered via a Kenton Pro 2000 midi to CV converter and therefore has minimal wear on the keyboard.” Link

“This was given to me as a gift around 1981/82. It is not a show piece but seems to work and sound fine. I will try to describe it as completely as possible and I have included many pics of the keyboard. I am very hesitant about selling this but I really haven’t used it all those years. I just recently put it in my studio and began to play it. I truly hope I don’t regret selling it.

Here are the details of this Minimoog:

    * The original keyboard and cabinet were replaced. I still have the originals which I will also be selling. The original keyboard was in need of repair and I came across a cabinet and keyboard on eBay a couple years ago and switched the keyboard and cabinet.
* The wood on the original cabinet is better but needs re-finished.
* The wood on the one being sold has some dings, scratches, and some cracks on the left side toward the back (see pics).
* The Mod and Pitch wheels and Glide and Decay section is not the original. I do have the original which has some paint over-spray on it – that’s why I switched them.
* The serial number is not embossed on the back like I have seen on some models – it is on a Moog Music tag on the bottom of the electronics housing. It may have been serviced but I’m not sure. On the inside there is writing in a couple of places that list the serial number and some dates of 8/22/74.
* The power cord is frayed at about where it enters the unit (see pics).
* The power light flickers instead of on steady.
* Some of the controls are scratchy but not too bad – normal for something this old and not played.
* There is some paint over-spray on part of the face but not too much (see pics).
* There is some blue spray paint on the back and right side of the electronics cover (see pics).

It does sound very nice like old Mini’s do.

Also included in the auction is a copy of the operations manual.” Link

wenigen Minuten stimmstabil.
ohne Konverter spielbar Weltweit..
Funktioniert einwandfrei.” Link
