“This Moog / Realistic Concertmate MG-1 Synthesizer has treated me well for years. I removed and retained the RCA jack board and installed a 1/4″ output and a 1/4″ input that feeds an external audio source to the filter. The old jack board will be included with the purchase of the synth. I demonstrate the filter modification using an Epiphone Les Paul in the Youtube video embedded below. This feature really enhances the capability of the synth.
The synth works and sounds great. The only functional issue I ever encounter is that sometimes the power switch doesn’t engage. Almost without exception, it works when I switch it off and then on again. Some contact cleaner in the switch assembly would probably fix this but it never really bothered me, so I never did anything about it.
The only other issues with this synth are cosmetic and minor. Describing them makes the effects seem more significant than they really are. However, I will address and photograph them so there are no surprises upon delivery:
The slider caps and knobs are a little dinged up and some of the silver inserts have fallen out (the ends now painted silver).
There is one replacement slider currently on the cutoff. It offers a better grip than the originals (I don’t have the original cap).
The power cable’s outer sleeve has split where it connects to the chassis.
Apparently the right panel had fallen off in the past and was glued back on. White residue is visible along the interior edge (as photographed near the rear 1/4″ output jack).
There are also some scratches and dings overall, but nothing that compromises the synthesizer’s aesthetics in my opinion.
Those are all the issues with this otherwise wonderful instrument.” Link

“In Good Condition a little ware on the keys one slider knob missing but slider works. Power Cord Included”
“The instrument is playable as it stands, and everything works, although it would benefit from some attention. The internal black foam turned to gunk long ago and has been cleaned out. Some of the sliders have been cleaned up and don’t have such a good feel as the others. It is possible to buy and fit replacement sets of sliders and switches, so this is not a big issue. The power transformer is a bit tired and may need replacing in the future. Like many old analogue synths, it takes time to warm up.”
“I have owned this synth for about 12 years. I purchased it from the original owner. It is in great cosmetic condition (considering it’s age). It has some light scratches here and there but really looks great otherwise. It is missing all the slider caps, but the 3 knobs are still there. All sliders/knobs/keys function. I can say that the tuning definitely seems out. I am not an expert on the electronics in synthesizers so all I can be certain of is that it does turn on, make sound/noise, and all the sliders affect the sound in some manner. some of the sliders are a bit dirty, but after you move them up and down for a minute they seem to clean out. I have been keeping this around for a converstion piece, but it is time to make room in my studio.”
“Today I am auctioning off my Moog Concertmate MG-1 analog monosynth. Cosmetically this synth is almost mint. Everything looks fantastic. I removed alot of the black stuff that comes inside of this era Moog stuff but some still persists. It is missing three slider knobs but replacements are easily found and in essence meaningless (you can move the sliders fine without it). The sliders could probably use a cleaning; they all move fine but the “peak emph” slider has a bit of static when moved. It sounds GREAT… There’s a lot of misunderstanding out on the net about this synth. It is essentially a three VCO analog synth with the 3rd OSC being divide-down polyphonic (yet limited to just square wave). There’s very few Moogs I’d put above this unit; I’d rank this one above the Source and the Prodigy. It also has a ring mod, cv/trigger in (you can purchase a box that will turn cv/trig to midi), and I modded this unit with an input allowing you to process audio through it’s 24db Moog filter (self-oscing!)”
“Up for sale is a vintage Moog Concertmate MG-1 analog synthesizer. This thing is incredible. It gets all the classic analog Moog sounds, and is great for insanely phat basses, screaming ELP-style saw leads, ambient pads, sci-fi sound FX, and pretty much everything else. You really have to play one for yourself, and here’s your chance. I really hate to sell it, but I have to scale down and I need the money, so my loss is your gain. All of the original knobs and pots are intact, and everything has been tested and works great. There are no visible scratches, scuffs, dents, etc. The oscillators are quite stable as well, considering it’s age.”
These will also work in a Prodigy, Source and Rogue as well as a few others
