The synthesizer is Sold As Is for a Fixerupper. I am not an expert and do not know how to operate the synth but I will describe the condition as best I can. The unit does power up, the display reads TA PE as you can see in the second picture. I am probably not doing something correctly or maybe it needs to be repaired but I do not get any sound out of the synth. It has been in storage for a while so it is dusty and needs to be cleaned. “Das Teil sieht grottig aus, ich weiss nicht was der Vorbesitzer damit gemacht hat, vielleicht hat er damit bei Krupp am Hochofen musiziert, jedenfalls ist das Chassis verzogen und teilweise gebrochen wie man an den Fotos sehen kann.
Dem Joystick fehlt der Abdeck Knopf, sieht auch sehr mitgenommen aus, funzt aber.
Er sieht wirklich geschunden aus, er tut mir fast schon ein bisschen leid.
Allerdings läuft die Gurke,und der Analoge Sound ist auch nicht von schlechten Eltern, besonders im Unison Modus wuchtet er ein paar gute alte 80er Analogbässe raus.
Auch die Orgeln klingen irgendwie cool und etwas schmutzig. Der Bass hat etwas eigenartiges, er klingt irgendwie hohl, aber das meine ich positiv.
Wer einen spröden trashigen Analogsound mag, für den ist es die richtige Maschine, er will geschraubt werden der DW-6000 und dann beginnt er zu atmen.
Die Werkseitigen Presets sind fade öde und nichtsagend.Allerdings guter Ausgangspunkt unm zu schrauben.
Durch die aufgedruckten Parameter ist es sehr einfach, die alte Analogwurst zu programmieren.
Die Tastatur ist ok. Die letzten 2 Tasten kann man nicht richtig drücken weil das verzogene Plastik Chassis dagegen drückt.
Kommen wir zu den Bedientastern, die sind sehr verdreckt und müssen mal ordentlich gereinigt werden.
Das ist es, was mich auch zum Wahnsinn treibt, sonst würde ich ihn öfters einsetzen, da ich aber 2 linke Hände habe und mich Elektrotechnik nie erreichen wird,
überlasse ich das lieber einem talentierten Techniker sowas flott zu machen.
Man kann wohl auf Tapes Sounds abspeichern ,habe ich aber nicht ausprobieren können, keinen Schimmer wie das geht.
Midi geht und damit ist an fein raus will man eine gescheite Tastatur nutzen.
Also innendrinn scheint alles zu laufen,nur sieht er aus, als wenn er 200 Jahre im Klonkrieg gekämpft hat.

Very reluctantly having to let this great instrument go, but need to clear space in the study.
The synth is in fully working order, but the battery which retains sound memory needs to be replaced. This means that when you first switch on the synth, the parameters for all 64 of the memory banks will be randomly set, so all the sounds will be very peculiar! However, using the owner’s manual you will soon be able to reprogram all of the factory default sounds. Unfortunately, when you switch off the synth, any modifications you’ve made to sound parameters are lost. It also means any of the factory default sounds that you’ve carefully reprogrammed are lost too!” Link

“This is Korg DW 6000 6-voice polyphonic synth with MIDI (serial #010844) with original power cord, purchased new by the previous owner in 1985. It comes with the original OEM inner and outer boxes and packing material, if you care about such things. I do not have the manual or factory settings cassette, but a PDF of the manual is available online as well as an MP3 of the factory settings.
THIS IS A NON-FUNCTIONAL INSTRUMENT. It turns on and then becomes the “Zen synth”: Hitting playing keys gets you a variety of unpredictable and trippy noises – all completely unaffected by the joystick or top controls and only moderately influenced (note I did not say “controlled”) by the keyboard. The LEDs for the tabs and display are all functional in that they light up. The Program/Parameter/Value LEDs (for the most part) show displays that one would logically expect to see in a fully functional instrument. Moving the data slider causes the LEDs in both the tabs and displays to change status.
The synth did work when I got it in the late 90s but I hardly ever used it. When I had it out 2 years ago, it was inconsistent – it worked, then not (as described above), then on again. I pulled it out to sell it a couple of months ago and changed the battery, but that didn’t seem to solve the problem as it is still “non compos mentis”. You may already know EXACTLY what’s wrong with it – then this is the instrument for you.
This instrument spent most of it’s life under the first owner’s bed and then in my closet, but it saw a fair amount of gig/rehearsal use in the first couple of years of its life and shows some of that cosmetic wear, documented as follows:
You can see in the first picture that it is missing the original joystick cover (if memory serves, it looked kind of like a golf tee) but the joystick is fully mechanically functional in that it has full range of movement, turns both the x and y pots and is easily manipulated even without the cover.
You can see in the second picture that there are some scratches and wear on the bottom, and it may be missing a couple of screws (aside from its marbles), but this is how it was when I received it. Nothing is loose inside or outside. It’s possible that some of those holes were for the DW8000 which I believe used the same chassis. Some of you may know better. All four feet are intact.
In the bottom of the fourth picture you can see that some of the matte grey finish is worn off the edge of the unit. This can be seen to varying degrees around the perimeter.
The blemish in the top of the fourth picture is NOT impact damage, but some kind of residue. It seems like it might have been a rubber band back when Poppy was the Prez, but it does not easily come off and I thought it better not to try.
Other than the issues I’ve mentioned, the synth is in good cosmetic/structural condition (not dented, cracked or gouged) and you have to get up close to notice it’s imperfections.” Auction ended. Click here to browse on eBay.
