“Up for sale is this Roland Juno-6 vintage analog synthesizer. The original Juno line of synths (6, 60, 106) have been enjoying a resurgence in popularity as current production trends are revisiting the analog synth sounds of the 80′s and people are starting to realize how much more beautiful the ‘real thing’ is as compared to software instruments and plug-ins. Believe me, you’ll understand once you hear this instrument. The descriptor ‘WARM’ is so overused for these instruments because that’s exactly how they sound! Punchy and gutsy bass, luscious pads, and maybe the best arpeggios in the business because of the incredible sounding filters.

It is in absolutely perfect shape save a very small scuff on the left side wood finish and where the wood is peeling up in two spots on the right underside. Both of these imperfections are shown in the first video demo. They are practically unnoticeable. The important things- keys, knobs, sliders, buttons- are all in perfect shape and unbelievably there are no scratches. I have seen many Juno’s and this is the best cosmetic rating I would hand out.” Link

“hi, you are bidding on a Roland Juno 6 , JU-6 synth . its in RUFF shape. it does play but has lots of loose and broken keys that need replaced. and there are some faders and switches that are broken. all the sliders covers are missing off the switches. the case has lots of nicks , scuffs , and scratches. the keyboard is beings SOLD AS-IS with no RETURNS for PARTS OR REPAIR . this needs to be completely serviced . most of the sliders are dirty and do not work properly. again does not Work Properly with Lots of Problems .” Link

I have a Juno 6 in excellent condition, and functions like brand new. It has only had one owner since it was purchased brand new in the 1980′s.

I Know a lot of synths, and considering its price range, it’s very hard to beat. I know the Juno-106′s and a JX-8P, and they don’t have the punchy attack of the Juno-6. The Juno 6′s sliders are connected directly to the synth circuitry, which is its major difference from the others. The sliders on the other Junos are connected to the circuitry via CPU – they provide a digital reading which the CPU converts to analog voltage. This can generate a little delay, considering the speed of those old CPU’s. The ADSR on the Juno-6 is an analog custom chip, and it’s very fast and precise. Other difference from the 106 is that the DCO pulse width can be modulated via ADSR, and the Juno-6 has three types of chorus (1, 2, 1+2=tremolo).

“This a rare classic vintage true analogue synth, a polyphonic beast with built-in arpeggiator that can growl and shake the room or provide lush warm analogue pads, and everything in between. Will be sorely missed but I no longer have the space for a full-sized studio setup.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THIS VINTAGE ITEM:

- the RELEASE slider cap has broken off, so it is currently set at minimum where the vast majority of patches require it to be. You can change the setting using a ballpoint pen or similar. Replacing the slider should be a fairly straightforward job for a hobbyist. SEE PICTURE NO.2

- the PITCH BEND JOYSTICK has broken off. You can still use the pitch bend and it still works fine, but the stick part is missing. Again a hobbyist with access to the correct part could probably fix this very easily. SEE PICTURE NO.3

- there may be some slight dust-related crackle on one or two of the controls, but nothing that some contact spray won’t fix in a jiffy.

All of the keys function properly and are responsive to the touch. There are some scratches, scuffs and wear marks visible on the unit from previous use and travel over the years.
