Juno-106, Roland @ 07 August 2011, “No Comments”

“Up for sale is ROLAND Juno-106 the “classic” analog synthesizer.

Probably one of the best polyphonic analog synths available, sounds great and easy to play.

The unit is fully functional, all the keys and knobs and buttons working well. Cosmetically there are some minor ware and marks, but overall in great condition as you can tell from the pictures.

I’m also including owner’s manual in Japanese, and a Roland warranty card (now invalid) from back in the day, for any Juno/vintage synth manias. Both in great condition.

Comes in black carrying bag as shown.
Power cable included.” Link

“This synth was purchased from a family member a year back, who used it lightly since it’s original purchase back in 1988 at some local church functions. It was then stored away, apart from its occasional use every few years, in the original hard shell case. Every feature of this synth is in PERFECT CONDITION. There are no issues of any kind. All sliders, knobs, and buttons are free of any error or defect. All the original logos and print are perfect without any wear, scratches, or chips.” Link

Juno-106, Roland @ 07 August 2011, “No Comments”

“This synthesizer is part for part exactly like a Juno 106, the only difference is that the hs 60 has speakers and a line in jack. All 6 original voice chips in this synth have been serviced, which means that they will not eventually die like unserviced chips. I performed the service myself, any questions will be answered. The synth is missing one slider cap but all buttons and knobs are in full working order.” Link

“For auction is this classic, vintage 80s analogue polysynth, with full midi capability.

It is in excellent condition, and has had periodic services down the years.

It was bought from the original owner in 1989 at four years old, and has never been gigged or used away from the house. There are one or two minor surface blemishes on the front panel, but the functionality is still spot on.

Also included in the sale:

· fur-lined flight case for transit protection

· original owner’s manual & power lead” Link

“Offered here for purchase is a ROLAND Juno-106 programmable polyphonic keyboard/synthesizer–the first MIDI equipped Juno. This keyboard, purchased in 1985 and maintained by its original owner, features a 61 key, six voice fully programmable synthesizer that includes memory capacity (will retain up to 128 different patch programs), a battery back up system, and much more! All features have been checked out by the keyboard’s owner and are said to be in perfect working condition. ” Link

“This juno is working well, nice sound, good overall condition. ” Link

“Up for sale is a Roland Juno-106 61-key analog polyphonic synthesizer.
This is an extremely versatile, professional-grade instrument.

This synthesizer is in mint, or ‘nearly-new’ condition.
All electronics, controls, keys, and jacks are 100% functional.

This thing sounds AMAZING!
It is can produce a practically infinite variety of tones!

This sythesizer can be used for any genre of music you could ever think to play on it.
There are super dynamic tones in all ranges from ultimate bass, to smooth mids, all the way up to cutting leads.
Just plug it in, load one of the patches (or create your own), and get ready to unleash a plethora of tonality.
This thing is a beauty ready to be admired both visually and sonically.

The original Roland case is included.

The ONLY cosmetic imperfection that we could find was a small initial carved into the ‘d’ in Roland,
and a few minor scratches on the wood base.” Link

“ROLAND JUNO 106 PROGRAMMABLE POLYPHONIC ANALOG SYNTHESIZER

Works perfectly. I tested every feature on it and works excellent.

This unit was gently used in a home studio, but there are some very light scratches on it’s body.

Two of the sliders caps have yellow stripes instead of the white stripes.

Power cord has been replaced by a brown cord which have been permanently attached, so you won’t be constantly misplacing it or loosing it.

It was recently cleaned and had it’s battery tested.” Link

“Up for bid is an original 1984 Roland Juno-106! If you are looking at this auction you probably already know all about this famous synth. This Juno-106 is 100% functional and in beautiful cosmetic condition as well. Everything is fully functioning with no problems, all keys work, faders, knobs, buttons, switches all work beautifully as new. This Juno is all original and has had no mods or any other work done to it. Internal battery is working and all the original factory voice patches are completely intact and have never been reprogrammed. Unit comes with its original power cord. ” Link

“This auction is for a fully functional Roland Juno 106 Synthesizer. Considering that It is used and has been gigged with it is in very good condition. Everything works on it. I just don’t use it anymore and hope someone else can get some use out of it. It comes with the original power cord and an Anvil hard case, both used of course.” Link

“Bought this for a recording project in the lat 90′s & it has been stored since. I’m a Guitarist & held on to hoping to build a studio one day but it’s time to let go as this should be used not just sitting around. Keyboard is clean & 100% functional. ” Link

“Roland Juno-106 Synthesizer
Very good condition. ” Link

“I bought this with the intention of fixing it up, but I’m downsizing my synth collection to fund an upcoming trip and don’t have the time.

What’s wrong:

Voices chips 3 and 4; the third chip is missing so a repacement will need to be purchased, the fourth needs to be repaired (or have the coating stripped…check YouTube or see the SynthSpa). I believe replacements/clones can be purchased for around $40, and the original chips are relatively easy to repair if you’re proficient with a soldering iron. Chips 1, 2, 5 and 6 appear to be working perfectly.

A small potentiometer on the main board is broken. Beyond that, as far as I can tell all traces etc. appear to be intact.

Lastly: the module with the bender isn’t functioning. Everything there appears to be connected and undamaged; it looks as though it is just one wire that is disconnected, but I didn’t spend enough time with the schematics to figure it out.

Rust on the faceplate! Pictured above.

Other than that, all pots/buttons/jacks/etc. appear to be working.

A nice project, priced accordingly. I’ll include prinouts of the schematics as well. I’ve described/pictured the synth to the best extent of my personal knowledge and ability. That said, as with most items sold for repair, this synth is sold as is. Feel free to email with any additional questions and I’ll do my best to answer as accurately and thoroughly as possible.” Link

“roland juno 106-really nice cond-no scratches or dents-all orig buttons and slides-everything works” Link

“Up for auction is a used Roland Juno 106 in mostly perfect working order. Unfortunately, like all 106′s one of the voice chips is going out on it. Could be an easy fix for someone with more technical skill than I have. I just don’t have the confidence to dive into this synth although I wish I did because I absolutely love the sounds. I put it into test mode and established that it was voice chip 1 going bad but stopped there. I purchased it from the original owner so this synth has not seen any gigging action. All of the original sliders, buttons, keys and paint are still on the unit and it is very clean considering its age. Everything works still too.

According to previous owner, it was placed in a climate-controlled storage unit I bought it. I’ve kept in it a smoke-free environment as well. All of the functions work well but on some patches the fourth or fifth note sounds completely different. On other patches, everything is fine. Sliders work well and correspond to working functions. Only problem is the one voice chip. I wish I could fix it because I really hate to let it go but I’d rather see someone get it who can restore her to her former glory.” Link

“This is a vintage, Roland Juno 106 synthesizer from the mid-1980s. It’s been well taken care of and kept in a smoke-free, home studio. All 6 voices function so it offers full polyphony and three of the original 6 voice chips have been professionally replaced with new ones in the last few years. The only known issue is that one slider, the “Keyboard” slider (visible in the pictures) lost its knob. However, it functions just fine using a small paperclip to move the slider.” Link

“This auction is for a USED Roland Juno 106 61-key synthesizer. It has had the power plug updated to the 3-prong.” Link

“You are bidding on a Roland Juno 106 Analog Synthesizer w Calzone HSC and original power cord.

This is an all-time classic early 80′s six-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer and is known for its incredible versatility, tremendous sounds and midi-compatibility. If you are familiar with the Juno 6 and 60 – this is essentially the same synth, except instead of an arpeggiator it has portamento (much more useful, especially given that it has midi and can be arpeggiated in definite time) and of course – it has Midi which the 6 and 60 do not and way more memory locations for your patches than the 60.

The synth you are bidding on is in great condition. ALL 6 Voice Chips are working (2 have been professionally cleaned and reinstalled). All features and functions are fully operational. All memory buttons work. All sliders and caps are present. I’m not getting any scratch or hesitation from any of the pots. As any of these 25+ year old synths go, it has some scratches and nicks, but I would consider the cosmetic condition of this synth to be pretty excellent. Whats more is that I am shipping it to you in a killer blue foam-lined Calzone HSC. The case isn’t new but has plenty of life left in it and could easily make the rounds on a national tour. Calzone are easily the best ATA hard cases on the market. Aside from the use you’ll get out of the case, it’s also cool since it can be shipped safely to you in the case (I will also expertly pack around the synth and case and build a box around it). No need to buy one of the crappy e-bay cases or spend $380 on a new case!” Link

“Roland Juno 106. This beautiful old synth has made it through these last 26 years beautifully. Fantastic condition save for 2 small issues.

1. The LFO speed slider post is missing. The underlying slider still functions….just requires a guitar pic or small scre4 driver to adjust it.
The replacement slider and cap cost a total of $20.00 on Ebay. If you are comfortable with a soldering iron, this is a simple fix.
2. One of the voice chips for the sub-oscillator doesnt sound. So its actually 5 and 1/2 voices that work perfectly. Ive found that putting the synth into Poly 2 mode makes this almost completely unnoticable. IF your sound doesnt use the suboscillator, you wont notice it at all.

Aside from that, its in pristine condition. It will be well packaged to arrive safely to its new home.” Link

Link

“Vintage Roland JUNO-106 synth in excellent condition. Little used, and stored away in the past 15 years. I bought this new in France around 1986.

I have just checked it out and seems to be working as new, except for data bank 4 key which has been unresponsive for the past 10 years. The synth has never been opened, I have never tried to sort this out. All 6 voices work fine and controls are in mint condition. I have tested it through headphones and an amp and all functions are working. The exterior is in mint condition. Comes with original manual.” Link

“Condition: 8.5/10, Very clean. Has a couple scrathes on the sides. The bottom has a few scratches. Bench tested and works perfectly. Everything works as it should.” Link

“This auction is for a Roland Juno-106 Programmable Polyphonic Synthesizer. The synthesizer is used, but is in good working condition. ” Link

“Vintage Juno 106 synthesizer in excellent condition. Has been in storage for many years and was only lightly used. The unit powers up and all keys work. Selling this for a friend who’s downsizing. Unfortunately, I’m not a keyboard player and am not familiar with the nuances or features of this keyboard, so I’m afraid that I wouldn’t be able to provide too many detailed answers to your questions, but if you have a pressing question, I can try to find the answer from more knowledgeable sources. Comes with case, power cord and instrument cable.” Link

“I have a juno-106 I acquired recently. It had a bad voice chip or two, so I acetoned them and swapped some out with another I had sitting around, and voila! a great shape 106!

Condition:
The Bad:
Missing four slider caps
has some speckly type something or other on the face, and some scratches. +some signs of wear.
Still could use a real professional tuning to get it dead on. I tuned it to the service manual’s specs, with my voltmeter and ears, but no oscilloscope. You’d need an oscilloscope to be perfect.

The good:
I acetoned the voice chips, so you and i both know they’ll be good for a good, long time.
The keybed feels nice and there are no dead spots or bad contacts.
The sliders move freely and there’s no scratchiness (i could find or remember atm)
pitch bender is there! :) Link

“this juno is in great shape. everything works with no issues. great physical shape too.” Link

“Amazing Roland Juno-106 analog synth. One of the best polyphonic analog synths you can buy. Works and sounds great. The only issue I’ve had is static on a couple of the patches that creeps in occasionally. It’s nothing insurmountable and you can still record on those patches, it just may require an extra take or you might have to give the Juno a rest for an hour. Midi and keyboard both work great. Get the analog sound that can’t be matched by any software plugin. ” Link

“It looks like the day I bought it. Awesome. Unfortunately has some issues like sounds going wild randomly. If you know anything about fixing this or know a friend that could fix it, probably isn’t a big deal. If you don’t, you know how much electronic technicians charge an hour, but it’s up to you anyway because it is a nice project. ” Link

“Original Boxed Roland Juno 106 Polyphonic Programmable Synthesizer.
In Original Box, Good Condition for it’s age, in my honest opinion with no broken knobs or sliders. Listed as Spares or Repair.
The Bad Bits: Lower F# and second lowest D keys do not work. I have not tried to repair these myself so therefore I am listing as spares or repair. I am sure that any electronic minded person could repair these or have someone else do it. There are also some minor scratches as expected of a Synth of this age. The Box has also seen better days as expected for it’s age.
Originally bought by a friend of mine from Clinkscale Music Instruments in Melrose, but I bought it from him a number of years ago when I was in a want to be Rock Star phase. As you can guess this never transpired so I now submit that my Juno is surplus to requirements much like my rock career!
If you are viewing this then you know how great a piece of kit this is.
No instruction manual but available to download ( Google it for free )
Winning Bidder will be sent Juno and power lead, in Original Box Boxed in an outer Padded Carton by Parcelforce 24″ Link

“Roland Juno-106, classic analog in excellent working and cosmetic condition. Knobs and sliders recently cleaned. Free shipping in the US (insurance included)! International shipping to be determined at auction end. No manual, 106 and power cable only.” Link

” This listing is for a Roland Juno 106 vintage synthesizer in nice cosmetic condition with normal wear for its age. It will come as shown below in the pics. This piece has been tested and is in proper working order. There is one mark up toward the top of one white key about the size of HALF a pinky fingernail that would not even photograph (my finger points to it in one pic and I darkended up the photo t try to show it better.) It is purely cosmetic and does not affect the functionality but I am noting it so there are no surprises.” Link

“Up for auction is one of the best synths ever made. This roland is in near perfect cosmetic condition. No scratches or dents. I have owned this synth since 1998. the pitch controller sticks to the right. Its never bothered me once. And just recently i noticed that some notes stick. So you would have to probably change one of the voice chips.Very common problem in the juno.Easy Fix.I dont have time for music anymore so my loss is your gain. Whoever wins this auction will thank me for how well taken care of this synth is. Its clean.” Link

Link

“Good physical condition. Synth turns up, but sounds weird. I’m sure that something wrong with it, but can be repaired. Sold as-is for PARTS or REPAIR” Link

” * I’ve owned this synth since the early 90s, I am the second owner. Everything is in working order. I recently had the entire synth refurbished, all the voice chips were resealed, had one of the sliders repaired and the inside cleaned by the Synth Spa. I thought I would use it but I’ve gone another direction with my music so sad to part with it after so many years, but it should be in the hands of another musician that will use it.

* This particular synth was even used by UK Trance legends Union Jack / Art of Trance at a show in Pittsburgh PA, I lent it to them for the gig. I even had one of them sign it as listening and spinning their music got me into writing electronic music. The signature is partially faded now, but its silver sharpie to the left of the key transpose. Also the tape on the keyboard above the keys was from that show and I’ve just never removed it, they were writing the patches they loaded into it. Anyway, if one wanted they could remove the tape with some goo gone, it is not covering anything up.

* This unit comes with power cable, and 2 CD full of patches, including those that Union Jack / Art of Trance put in there, probably only a few, I’m pretty sure the one was the square wave sound from 2 trouts and a moon. I’ll even throw in a midi cable if you need one.

* There are a couple stickers on the back as shown, they could also be removed and we just on there for fun, no other reason.” Link

“Juno 106, sold “as is” for parts or repair. I bought this beast a few years ago for over $500. I had the typical problem of a voice chip going bad. I replace the voice chip and all was back to normal. A few months later one more went out, and that is the condition it’s in now. The synth works great but it’s out one chip. I’m not interested in the commitment of owning a Juno any more. Please take it off my hands and give it a good home!” Link
