This sequencer connects to a Juno 60 or Jupiter 8a (and modified early Jupiter 8s) via its hardwired DCB cable and allows you to record and overdub up to 2000 note sequences either in real time or in single step loading. It features two DIN Sync outs, allowing control of anything equipped with a DIN Sync socket (ie, TB-303, TR-808, TR-606, CR-8000 etc). It also has a tape interface for saving/loading compositions, which can be used with almost any recording/playback medium (eg computer DAW) for backing up recorded songs. It retains the last composition in internal memory, even when switched off. It is powered by a standard 9v boss type adaptor (not included).

The JSQ-60 is a polyphonic sequencer for use with Juno-60 or Jupiter 8 synthesizers. Two SYNC OUT ports are available for interfacing with TR-x0x, CR-8000 or other DIN devices.
Its 2,000 note memory can store an entire composition. The JSQ-60 is capable of both real-time and single-step recording. While listening to previously stored performances, you can overdub up to three times in real time. The JSQ-60 can also memorize patch changes. It also has a built-in metronome.
The JSQ-60 is very easy to use. You can record a sequence, then replay it while you jam over it or tweak the controls on the synth. The key transpose on the Juno-60 can be used during playback to alter the sequence in real time.
No power supply is not included, but functional ones are easy to come by…if you have any pedals or other Roland equipment you’re likely good to go; I use one from Radio Shack.” Link

“Here is a well used but working JSQ-60. 2 photos are of when I first got it. It’s dirtier and has a non-original tempo knob. It has since been cleaned up and an original roland knob is back on the sequencer as shown in the pic of it on top of my Juno 60. It is missing the rest button cap. You can still fit your finger in the hole to hit the rest button but I have never had to use that button. I hit load and play my sequence on the keys, hit stop – reset and play. It does have some scratches and dings so if you are looking for a museum peice, this aint it. Works great but I will be selling my Juno 60 and will have no need for this. JUST TO BE CLEAR THIS SEQUENCER ONLY WORKS WITH A DCB CONNECTION ON A JUNO 60 OR JUPITER 8.” Link

This is an amazing packaged deal! Now is your chance to have the famous analog sounds of the early 80s combined with the ability to arpegiate or sequence them. The Juno 60 up for auction is in complete working order. Cosmetically it is in good condition. The wood side panels hardly have any wear, aside from one little chip in the top of the left panel (see pictures below), and there are just some scratches on the faceplate of the synthesizer. “I purchased this recorder many years ago for my Juno 60 ( Juno-60 not for sale) as a backup sequencer. I never used it because I have my keyboards running through a Kenton DCB-MIDI box. This sequencer was new old stock. It is brand new and works beautifully. Metronome works loud and crisp and buttons function as they should. It works well with the Juno 6 and Jupiter 8 if the serial number on the Jupiter 8 is greater than 282879–OR has the DCB connector (see photo for the DCB port on my Juno-60..again Juno-60 is not for sale). Very easy to use and has an Overdub feature. You can also sequence an entire song. It has tape backup/verify.

I’m unable to test it as I no longer have a Juno but it did work fine 20 years back! A couple of the switch caps are missing but the actual switches are intact.
