The only thing wrong with this synth is the modwheel, it snapped off within the first month. However, I can honestly say that I have never missed it. I also had a JP8000 keyboard but I still tended to use this one for playing, pitchbend AND modulation, maybe it was habit, maybe not, but either way it didn’t hinder my modulation performance… If it did, I would have used the JP8000 instead.” Link
“Der JD-800 ist ein 24-stimmiger Digital-Synthesizer mit 61anschlagdynamischen Tasten, sowie 59 Schiebe- und 3 Drehreglern zur Soundeditierung. Er kann entweder im Single Modus oder als 6-fach multitimrale Klangerzeugung arbeiten ( 5 normale + 1 Drum Part). Für die PCM-Klangquelle sind 108 Schwingungsformen wählbar, die ein digitales, dynamisches Filter und anschliessend einen dynamischen Amp durchlaufen. Über einen Karten-Einschub können weitere Waveforms nachgeladen werden. Ein Klangprogramm setzt sich aus 4 solcher “Tones” zusammen, deren Pegel gemischt werden kann. Als Effekte gibt es Chorus, Delay und Reverb, im Single-Modus noch einige Multieffekt-Typen. 64 Patches, 16 Performances (hier Multi-Setup genannt) und 1 User Drum-Set lassen sich intern speichern, ebenso auf einer eingesteckten RAM-Card.
Das Gerät wurde seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr benutzt
und hat äußerlich auch Gebrauchsspuren,
wurde aber von mir getestet und technisch als “in Ordnung” befunden.

“This incredible keyboard has seen better days, and needs a caring home. Although its MIDI functions seem to operate perfectly, and all of its sliders and buttons work fine, only about half of the keys work. About half of those keys have no velocity sensitivity. Evidently the glue that holds the weights under the keys has liquefied over time and has leaked into the keyboard innards. Apparently, this is a common enough problem that there is currently at least one YouTube video that shows you how to service the JD-800 for this particular problem.
I have confidence that the process to get this fixed may be little more than getting in there with some degree of patience and elbow grease (of which I have neither), and might even be done by a non-professional.
Let it also be known that the main LCD screen’s back light flickers a little bit. It’s been doing this for years, but it is not that noticeable, nor distracting. I also over-zealously engraved my name on it a couple of times. I just thought I should mention these things for full disclosure’s sake.
Needless to say, this auction will have a “no-returns” policy, and this keyboard and its accessories will be sold “as is”.
I bought it new 15 years ago, and it has lived in my smoke-free studios ever since. There are a couple of very small dings on it caused by it being brought along on a couple of gigs. This is also the probable cause of the screen flicker.” Link
