Hard to find instrument but an awesome DAW workhorse.
This EPS 16 is in fair condition. Most of the functions,buttons and sliders seemed to work fine. Just started having problems with the “track” button not working sometimes. Could be dirt underneath button or not making contact. Other problem noticed is the display characters not showing completely. Not sure whats causing this problem. I’d recommend taking to a instrument repair shop and have them go over it and give a through cleaning maybe. That will probably bring it back to life 100%. “This is an Ensoniq EPS 16+ rackmount in good condition both function wise and cosmetically. There are only scuffs on top of the unit, nothing on the faceplate itself. The rackmount pieces will be re-installed or packaged before shipping. It comes with the OS disk and Waveboy’s parallel effects disk. The SCSI is installed as well as the maximum amount of ram. I see alot of these rack samplers these days without the SCSI option going for more than I am asking for as the starting bid, I am assuming in order to sell separately. In fact, I haven’t seen a rack unit with the SCSI option on Ebay in a while..if you have any experience with floppies then you know how crucial it is to have one. This is a fun machine to use and is still relevant in today’s production. It pretty much has the same sequencing at the much loved ASR but with a little more grit to the audio quality (sometimes I’m surprised this thing is 16-bit). And for the price you know this is a steal! It is in perfect working order, I havn’t used it in years, just tested all the functions and it is as good as new..the only catch is that I decorated it and then removed the decorations.. so ‘cosmetically’ its not up to standards (hence the low price)..the cool thing is – you now have a perfect eps 16 plus sampler for an obscenely low price..
The pictures show small bits of silver paint,scuffing of the eps logo and fake ruby gems on the Instrument/Track keys (which is kind of awesome)..a missing volume knob(not really needed,especially when using a mixer).. so that’s the extent of the cosmetic damage..superficial,as EVERYTHING works.
