“Hey everybody, I’m selling my Sidstation!
I am the original owner of this guy and have always loved him! The SID6581 chip harnessed inside of this silver metal box is really quite amazing for not only classic Commodore 64 type sounds (which of course it does with flying colors), but also for its highly animated and organic quality. This thing is practically alive! In fact, I’ve always referred to it as ‘Sid,’ and Sid is crazy! I always loved working with the waveform tables synced to an external clock. Really wild sequences and whole 8bit worlds will emerge. The LFOs are really nice, especially as you interlace them with each other. Again, an organic sound that can totally break apart and come back together with the twist of a knob.
One thing worth mentioning: Sid is noisy! Even with no gate present, he makes a little noise. Some people like to gate this off, while I like to pump it up and sweep the filter! Either way, it’s an amazing instrument, both sonically and musically speaking.
I have re-loaded the factory presets, so it’s all fresh and ready to be reprogrammed by you. I have the manual (a bit dog eared) and the power supply.
One other note: the DC IN is a little loose. It was that way when I got it years ago and I kept it plugged in almost all the time. It would probably be easy to open it
up and tighten it up but I’ll leave that to you. This is reflected in the buy it now price which I think is good for such a rare fellow as Sid. ” Link

“Today for sale is a cult synth form elektron based around a c64 chip, the famouse sidstation.

Its a very very powerfull synth, you can access a lot of the parameters of the cult c 64 chip, producing a very wide range of sounds and atmosphere. I found the basses specially to be very very very niiiiiiice, powerfull a la moog while very distinctive.

this synth is capable to recreate cult sounds but you can twist it to get way more out of it.

Caution: If you already know a little about this synth you may already know that it is a bit noisy. The manual (which can be downloaded on electron.se) confirms this so nothing to be alarmed about. I suggest a noise gate if it bothers you, but It really sits nicely in a mix. I think the noise is what makes this synth sound awesome.
