Battery terminals are in really good condition, this keyboard has been stored in the attic for the last fifteen years and has had very light home use only.
Please note there is minor damage on the third key from the right as shown in the photographs, this does not affect the playing at all.

“This is good old fashioned Yamaha Digital Programmable Algorithm Synthesizer. I bought this in I guess about 1986. It has mains and battery power, and both of these work.
Clearly the synth has been programmed with some of my own sounds and is a very flexible 4 Octave (second) synth. It has 100′s of pre set sounds plus 24 Internally programmed sounds that can be stored for ever by the machine. The presets are in 4 separate banks to allow easy switching as you play.
There are Pitch and Modulation thumb wheels and Midi connectivity.
Like any digital synth it takes a bit of time to learn how to programme it. It is a good way of learning about sound synthesis. I have the instructional manuals and it will come packaged in the original box. (I know amazing isn’t it)
The DX 100 was the little brother to infamous DX7. Clearly it has less functionality, but basically the same brainbox was inside both instruments. The DX7 was a 1980′s legend and still used by some bands.” Link

I was in a band for awhile, and this is one of the items I inherited about 10 years ago. I don’t know much about this keyboard, but apparently it’s a pretty popular and powerful little synth!
It’s in really nice condition, and has been in a dry clean cabinet in my house for about 10 years now (without any batteries in it). I plugged it in the other day, and used a standard guitar wire in the output slot, and ran the sound out through a bass amp. It sounded great! I used alot of the different sounds and functions and it’s a really cool little instrument! I’m not sure if it’s supposed to have sound on it’s own without being plugged into an amp – because if it does – it either doesn’t work, or I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

This unit is working, but has issues.
The single biggest issue is that the keys are not very responsive; the highest notes trigger well enough but the keys become less and less responsive going to the lowest notes.
When we acquired the synth, the power input and audio output jacks were intermittent due to cracked solder joints, these have been resoldered to good working order.
Some of the bottom panel and PCB attachment screws are missing.
The synth itself works as intended; it hold patches, sends and receives MIDI properly, mod and pitch wheel work well. etc.
Screen is bright and in good shape.

Condition – see pics for a good idea – its pretty faultless for its age – it has hardly been used – I got it as a collectors item but never really got around to setting it up & I use a laptop setup these days.
A cosmetically near perfect example of this classic synth (I can’t find anything wrong myself – no scratches / battery enclosure seems unused / no wearing of graphics etc – see pics for examples)
It has been in my loft for nearly ten years and I got it down today, switched it on and all seems to work fine, the digital screen etc is as it should be, headphone sockets works, I tested the output socket too to a single powered speaker, and worked fine, I can’t test output in stereo though as I don’t have the cable to send out to two speakers.
It comes with original box & manuals which is a rarity these days – although I think the power supply is a generic one from Tandy or somewhere & you would probably do well to replace this as I could detect a slight bit of noise via headphones – but this is a synth that is probably nearly 30 years old so there will no doubt be a bit of ghost in the machine, but I suppose thats the charm of buying old classic synths & if this bothers you don’t buy it.
It may be a good idea to have it serviced to guarantee many more years of enjoyment of this classic.” Link
