“I am the second owner of this machine and I bought it in 1984. I used it in a home studio setting for about 8 years and then put it away, where it’s sat unused for the last two decades. This item includes its original manual and will ship in its original packaging. In excellent condition, everything works as it should and cosmetically it looks great. All the original buttons and pots are present and even the metal casing underneath is clean. I tested it and the only flaw I can find is that the mono “Mix out” jack cuts in and out when the phone plug into it is jiggled. If it’s used in an environment where it’s not subject to vibration or movement, that shouldn’t be an issue. Alternatively, you can use the individual outputs for each drum sound to bypass the “Mix out” which will also allow you to do your stereo panning the way you want.” Link
“Guaranteed to be in excellent fully functional condition with complete original manual. Bag is also excellent but foam inside needs to be replaced as it’s crumbling and leaving residue on drum machine which has to be cleaned off whenever it’s taken out of the case. In the early 1980′s this was the first great drum machine system available for under $1000. ” Link
“THE DRUMULATOR IS IN GOOD USED CONDITION; NO DAMAGE TO THE CASE; ALL KNOBS; GOOD ELECTRICAL WIRING/PLUG; I PLUGGED IT IN & TURNED IT ON BUT NOTHING LIT UP? DON’T KNOW HOW IT WORKS? SELLING AS IS, FOR PARTS OR REPAIR; NO RETURNS. PLEASE SEE PICS FOR BETTER DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION. ” Link
“This is a rare opportunity to own a vintage Drumulator.
It is sold in need of a major service / overhaul but there is power to the machine and the main pads do make drum sounds, but it well need some TLC.
Would suit a collector.” Link
“Fully working Emu Drumulator with the impossible to get Roland TR-808 and TR-909 eproms. Nothing else sounds like the 8-bit Drumulator and it’s very rare the Drumulator TR-808 and TR-909 roms go up for sale. Also included is the original Drumulator Owner’s Manual which is also impossible to get. All the buttons and knobs work on this unit including all the outputs. There are some scratches on the unit here and there but most importantly everything works on the beautiful machine. Vintage E-MU stuff just goes up and up every few months. So get this now before it’s too late and someone else snags it. You’ll have some of the best lofi 808 and 909 sounds that few people have heard from the classic 8-bit Drumulator.” Link
“Up for bid is the “Classic” E-MU DRUMULATOR + original manual. Acquired from the original owner who used to be a TV commercial composer. Fully functional. ALL control works and drum patterns are present. Only missing the top cap of the metronome volume knob-no affect on function. Minor marks/scratches, overall very good shape.” Link
“E-MU SYSTEMS INC. DRUMULATOR. 1983. Great working order. All elements intact. Body is very
good+. Original manual included.” Link
“Vintage 1983 E-mu Drumulator drum machine in excellent condition. Everything works, and this drum machine sounds incredible. Contains all the original Drumulator sounds, as used on countless hit records throughout the eighties. Classic!” Link
“This listing is for a EMU Drumulator Vintage Synthesizer drum Machine.
The unit is in good condition for the age, with marks on the casing as is common with instruments of this age.
The unit is not fully functioning, it powers up and the display initially reads ‘bad’. The unit does play a few patterns but these sound like they are missing some drums. The ‘C’ button on the bottom row does play a cowbell but the other buttons do not trigger any drums.
Comparing the PCB to another Drumulator we have had there are some differences. This includes different eproms, different wiring and different volume pots. the pots do crackle when turned.
This is a good condition, complete unit, and an ideal oppurtunity for an enthusiast or repairer!” Link
“This is and will be a collectors item!
My drumulator is in excellent condition and only the “A” button needs an adjustment. The item is sold as is and no warranty is specified.
Original Owners Manual, schematics and additional data included.” Link
“This listing is for a EMU Drumulator Vintage Synthesizer drum Machine.
The unit is in good condition for the age, with marks on the casing as is common with instruments of this age.
The unit is functioning, and the on board sounds are great. A few of the buttons take a funny angle to make the contact inside, which could be a simple fix (e.g. switch cleaner) or worst case scenario they may need replacing.
This Drumulator looks very clean internally, as can be seen in the pictures.
This Drumulator comes complete with original manual.
This is a great unit, and an oppurtunity to own a classic drum machine!” Link

11 Different EPROM Drum Sets, Digidrums, 808, & MIDI
Up for auction is a rare E-mu Systems Drumulator in good working condition. This Drumulator includes 11 different EPROM sound sets (kits), 5 ZIF sockets, MIDI, and a new memory battery. The Drumulator is in great cosmetic shape for its age (please see photos), and in perfect operating condition with the exception of the PERC.. The Drumulator is a sample based drum machine from circa 1983. The original Drumulator stock sound set was gritty, lo-fi, 12-bit samples of basic drum sounds, which become a classic in many songs of the 80s. This auction includes 9 Digidrums Drumulator EPROM kits (5 EPROMs in each kit) in addition to the Drumulator stock drum kit, and a custom 808 sound kit from drummob.
The EPROM sockets inside the Drumulator have been outfitted with 5 removable high-quality EPROM ZIFs that allow for easily removing and installing of drum kits.

“Hello! Here’s a vintage early 1980′s E – MU Systems Drum Ulator model 7000 MIDI drum / drums synthesizer machine. It’s made in the USA in Santa Cruz, California, and in excellent cosmetic condition, with no cracks or breakage (needs a knob for the lever). We just purchased it from an estate in this condition, and have not opened the machine or taken it apart. The unit measures 15″ X 13″ X 5″, powers up fine, and the buttons work (mechanically) in what appears to be a normal manner. The “bad” symbols (as pictured) appear when plugged in and switched on, but disappear when buttons are pressed. We do not know how exactly to work the machine (even though we do have the owner’s manual), and do not have the proper equipment to attach to it. We believe that the additional attachments are necessary for full functionality- the cassette and timer functions do not light up, for instance. Of course, if it does by chance need any kind of repair, any capable technician can get it to work 100%. ” Link

You are bidding on a rare E-mu Systems Drumulator drum machine with MIDI that is in working condition! Cosmetically, it’s in fantastic condition.
These machines are highly sought after vintage samplers/synthesizers that have been used on many famous records including those by the infamous Big Black! (Atomizer! and Songs About Fucking most notably.) As you can see from the first picture this box powers up and it comes with a printed copy of the original manual in a 3 ring binder as well as a burned copy on CD-ROM.
The Drumulator is one of the later models so it has a MIDI port located installed on the back. I haven’t used it so I’m not 100% sure the MIDI works but I’m sure it should be fine.’” Link

“E-mu Drumulator drum machine for sale. I bought this a long time ago and I never ever used it! I was way to into my 808, 606, SC Drumtracks and DR660 at the time that I never bothered to learn how to use it. Well, I’ve had it my closet all this time and now it’s time for someone else that appreciates vintage drum machines to own it and use it. I fired it up yesterday and the drum track played and the pads played their drum sounds but I don’t really know what I’m doing so I can’t test it out completely. All the buttons did something so that’s good! The only thing that is missing is the slider cap but you can find a replacement.” Link
“This particular one has the original sound set (the drum sounds are stored on EPROM chips and can be switched out for new ones such as those available from Chris Strellis). The machine has one fault – the clave and cowbell sounds don’t work – but as these are sounds I don’t use, I never got around to having the machine looked at professionally. I will include the original manual on CD-ROM, as well as a custom cable that allows the drum sounds to be triggered from a serial interface. The machine also has a MIDI interface (input only).” Link
