“This is the meanest, most badass-looking Drumtraks you will ever have the chance to purchase. Part of the wood on one side was blown away by the sheer power of the samples. This machine works, it sounds great and it complies with the new Musical Instrument Digital Interface protocol. Volume and tuning is programmable. Step aside, Linndrum!” Link
“I am reluctantly selling my 1984 Sequential Circuits Drumtraks, one of THE classic EPROM drum machines.
Serviced in the summer, this is in immaculate condition and even comes in the original box despite being 27 years old.” Link

Link
“Up for auction is the best example of a Sequential Circuits Drumtraks that I have ever seen on eBay, in that it comes with the original manual, box, and the factory preset cassette tape!!! It works flawlessly, all buttons respond amazingly, pots are smooth, and every output works. It has one modification that you will be extremely happy about: the battery has been replaced with a brand new one, and has been moved off of the circuit board (which is in amazing condition). If you know anything about these old drum machines, you know that they have an unfortunate habit of getting battery leakage on the board, and now you will never have to worry about that with this item. There are a some slight scratches on the top (as must be expected of a drum machine of this age), but the wooden sides are in fantastic condition.
Do you want everything that came with this machine, the manual, the cassette, the box (almost as if you have ordered it from musician’s friend today)? Then this is the machine that you want!” Link

“Up for auction is a vintage Sequential Circuits Model 400 Drumtraks drum machine.
This item is being Sold AS-IS and NO RETURNS.
I plugged the the Drumtraks in and it has power, other than that I cannot say whether it works or not.
Cosmetically it is in great condition! A few scuffs and scratches.” Link
“Sequential Circuits “Drumtraks” Analog Drum Machine. Unit is in excellent condition and was purchased by myself in 1984 (still have the original receipt–paid $995). It has never left the studio, however it has been in storage for the last 10 years or so giving way to newer digital machines. Except for a few minor scratches on the bottom from racks it is flawless. Unit comes with original manual, schematic, and the original cassete tape with factory programs. Tape looks fine, but I have no way of running it to the unit to test it (haven’t owed a tape deck for nigh on 10 years now), but I bet it works. I do not have the original box. Unit works fine. One of the keys on the number pad is slow, and there may the case of dirty contacts here and there. As is always the case with equipment this old it has to be sold as is, but I’m confident you won’t be disapointed.” Link
“This is a classic drum machine I have inherited. Condition is what you would expect after a busy life in a studio; not exactly mint but in decent cosmetic condition all controls seem to respond as expected. The tempo ‘slower’ button cap is missing. This would however be easy to repair.
Sounds and output all work; some friends have used it in a few jam sessions and had a great time with it, but it will need a closer investigation to see if every function works, as none of us are experienced with this kit.” Link
“ITEM SOLD AS IS.” Link
“The Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine from the year 1984 was the first drum machine that supported MIDI. (The Drumtraks can also send DIN sync and clock.) And while the drum pads were not velocity-sensitive, you can control it via a MIDI keyboard and trigger it with different velocities. The 13 8-bit sounds can be pitch-shifted dramatically, adding some flexibility.
Einfach mailen.” Link
“This listing is for a Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine.
It’s fully working and in excellent cosmetic condition. It’s very clean and well taken care of.
It does have a couple scuffs to the paint to the left of the keypad and has one missing knob cap. It’s just the cap that’s missing, the knob is still there and functions as it should.
It also has a couple chips and indents on the wood panels on a few spots. The most noticeable one is on the front upper left part of the wood panel where a small piece has chipped away.
I need to also mention that the ride cymbal eproms have been replaced with a second set of crash cymbal eproms. Much more useful in my opinion to have access to 2 crash cymbals instead of one crash and a ride cymbal. The second crash cymbal is a duplicate of the factory one but it can be tuned differently to make a totally different cymbal sound all the way from a splash sound to a very large crash.” Link
“Classic Sequential Drumtraks drum machine
Good used condition, fully working, complete with copy of user manual.
Classic 80′s sounds, just sits perfectly in a mix with very little work. The Drumtracks has midi so there are no problems integrating into a modern setup. Very easy to use and program, has individual outputs and programmable tuning for each sound. It’s eprom based so you can easily swap the sound chips for anything else you want.
Will ship worldwide but it is heavy, so shipping is expensive if you are outside europe.” Link
“THIS DRUM MACHINE IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED! That is, if everything you need is a quirky vintage drum machine. I’m a full-time composer and picked this thing up years ago to get some authentic analog drum machine samples. I don’t have a clue how to sequence with it or if the sequencer even works. The drum sounds all play but the LED has a tendency to flicker about and sometimes shut off (although leaving it plugged in a bit sometimes seems to remedy this). All the drum pads seem to work fine but a couple function buttons sometimes stick but slowly rise back out. What can I say, this is a vintage machine that’s practically considered an antique! Aside from the electrical anomalies, the warm drum sounds are quite nice and the body is in decent condition for a machine that came out in 1984. I would primarily recommend this to collectors or synth museum curators and perhaps someone with a bit of knowledge of electronics. If you want to be the next Skrillex, this is not the machine for you!” Link
“HELLO! Up for auction is my SCI Drumtraks Analog Drum machine. As you can see from the pics, it is in prime condition. I have yet to see another one look this good… and SOUND this good. Classic analog drum goodness from Dave Smith in this box. Each drum can be tuned. The sequencer is easy to use and has such a cool vibe and quantization. Last year the battery died and i lost all my patterns, I was heartbroken for weeks, this box is that good. Since then the batter has been replaced and is good to go. There are several patterns I have created loaded and several empty slots for your own, and you can also overwrite my patterns too.
The drum pads all work and trigger with no issues, all other buttons work as they should as well… The LOAD button can stick a little, but it does not hinder use of that function. All knobs work great with no static.” Link

” I am the original owner of this vintage Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine (Serial # 3055). I bought it in 1984 because it did more things for the money than Oberheim, Roland, or Linn could do – especially via MIDI. All of the signature drum sounds of Prince came from the Drumtraks. At the time it was the coolest, most versatile, easiest to program, best sounding drum machine around. This machine was purchased from Uncle Bob’s Music in Milwaukee, WI. I used it a great deal in the 80′s and then switched to a different style of music in the 90s. It has been sitting in my music room ever since. Now it is time for it go rock someone else. I have cleaned it and checked out its functions and it works just like the day I bought it with the exception of some slight scratchiness in the volume control (spin it back and forth a few times and that goes away – typical for this vintage). The front panel screws are not included. They were lost when changing out eproms. The case has minor scratches from being moved around. The end panels have some scratches from sitting in a rack. I did not touch it up – it is all original. I have the original manual and addendums. The software is version Drum 0-5. The sounds are all the stock sounds that came with it. It works very well as a midi sound module which is how I mostly used it. Shipping will be actual cost to your destination plus insurance (UPS ground is listed but I am flexible). I will ship anywhere as long as the buyer is willing to pay the shipping cost. The machine will be well packed. This is a used vintage instrument which I have accurately described and photographed. ” Link

“For purchase is this Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine.
Serial Number is 05099.
The first photo of the unit is a stock photo. I had issues with my camera & the unit was double boxed professionally for shipping so I didn’t remove it for more pictures. All the other pictures are of the actual Drumtraks for purchase.
It is in excellent cosmetic condition. I would rate it an 8.5 out of 10 in appearance & thats being a bit conservative I think. There are no scratches in or major damage to the side wood panels. The faceplate is free of dents or scratches. All buttons are present & everything is 100% original.
I tested everything through headphones & had an issue with the sensitivity of the ride cymbal. When it was pressed in the middle it did not trigger properly but when pressed toward the bottom of the button lightly it triggered without any problem. This is probably a very easy fix and an alignment issue of some kind with the sensor & button on top.
It comes with the original Sequential Circutis box althouth it has seen alot of aging from storage & shipment as I am not the original owner.
The battery will probably need replaced at some point very soon. Another issue is the clear plastic fuse housing comes off periodically if it is moved around. Some electrical tape or some adhesive may be used to secure it but I’ve left it the way it is for the new owner to decide on that.
As many of you know this was the first drum machine in production with MIDI capabilities & the ability to each individual sound also. They are becoming more sought after as both a collectible & for studio arsenals.” Link
Link
“Classic 80s Drum Machine with Midi in working condition and looking good for its age. You know the score with this machine in the music industry so I won’t dwell on that. No dents or major scratches to the fascia, some wear to the wooden panels but they’re in good shape. The master volume knob was missing so I put slightly ill fitting Pro One knob on there but you can easily remove it. Also as the pics show, the ‘slower’ tempo button centre square is missing but it functions perfectly. I have part of the fitting the square should slot into. To the best of my knowledge its all working. I don’t have the manual but did create some patterns. Sounds lovely. I did notice the odd sound keys did take a second tap to at times so I reckon a good inside clean of the contacts etc would do it a lot of good. ” Link

“You’re bidding on a classic Sequential Circuits DrumTraks drum machine, with unique modifications and related-extras for improved usability and performance, (see below), and an interesting musical history of its own (also see below for interesting fun facts about this machine):
Cosmetically, it’s in great condition, with only minor nicks and scuffing associated with normal use. The only other issue is that one “foot” of the four table-top feet underneath is missing.
Functionally, all knobs, functions, outputs, lights, etc. were tested and are working, with only one small issue: the master volume knob crackles/cuts in/out below a level of “5″ when monitoring through headphones out of the mono mixout output (levels below 5 had always been quite low-level on this machine anyway–I usually ran this machine between 6-7 when montoring with headphones), but it doesn’t seem to affect performance at all.
Included: DrumTracks Machine, Original Owners Manual, shipped in original packing and box, PLUS:
Extras and Modifications Also Included:
This DrumTraks machine comes with 5 pre-intsalled ZIF sockets (see * below for ZIF definition), which allow the user to easily and quickly swap out and use other EPROM** sound chips in addition to the original sound chips that came with the unit. (See photos for blue-colored ZIF sockets installed). Simply pull back the two levers (gently but firmly) on the ZIF socket, and the chip is released. Slide another chip into place, and push back the levers to their tightened “locked” position (which seats the new chip firmly in place), and you’re ready to go with your new sound.
With this enhanced ZIF socket feature in place, in addition to all the original classic DrumTraks EPROM memory sound chips, I’m also able to include several high-quality and classic Linn Drum sound chips: “9000 Kick Drum”, “Linn 9000 Toms”, “Killer Toms”, “Crisp Hat”, “DX Hat”, and “9000 Snare-Power Snare” chips, which the user can use interchangeably with this machine. These Linn Drum sounds are of superior quality–I currently have the Linn Bass Drum, the Power Toms, the 9000 Snare-Killer Snare, and the DX Hat installed in 4 of the 5 ZIF sockets, but I’m including all the original Drumtraks sounds (see photos–origianl sounds are on chips labeled with all CAPS) as well.
I’ve also thrown in three unopened 28-pin LP (low profile) sockets, and one 24 pin socket, apparently left over from when we modified the machine with the ZIF sockets. ( (You won’t need them for this machine, but they were in with the unit when I tested it, so I just included them in the package.)
Also included: Handwritten schematic diagrams showing how the sockets were modified. (See photo.)” Link
“This unit is in very good condition. The enter button looks to be missing but im sure it can eazily be rfixed . It seems that someone replaced some of the buttons, I’m assuming the were faulty as this was a common problem with these drum machines. There are a few minor scratches on the top of the unit but nothing big and it does not affect the performance. It comes with 3 extra chips for more samples. It also comes with a factory programs tape and the original manual.” Link
“This auction is for the Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine from 1984. It was the first MIDI drum machine; and also features clock in and out and seven individual outs for mixing. It has been underused recently as ive stepped away from beat based music. There are a few functional problems with the machine:
- The ‘ride’ sample is corrupted (a replacement chip can be purchased for $15.00 here: http://www.winecountrysequential.com/page17.html ; or replaced with other eproms such as though in the oberheim dmx)
- The right arrow on the number pad does not respond; a few other button have contact issues, they still function, but could use a good cleaning
- The ‘cassette save’ button cap is missing, but the feature still functions
The auction is just for the machine pictured (read: does not include original box, factory cassette, or manual [this is readily available as a pdf online]); because of the functional problems listed above the auction is ‘AS-IS’” Link

“You want a vintage 1980′s-era drum machine? Don’t want to give up a grand for a DMX? Well here’s just the thing for you. It’s my Sequential Circuits DrumTraks. It’s in extremely good condition, all pots and buttons are fully intact and working, wood side panels are in great shape as well. The sound is….in a word, awesome. Perfect for anything from New Wave to Hip Hop. I purchased this DrumTraks from its original owner, a polka musician who took extremely good care of it. The original packaging (box) and owners manual are both included. This thing is kind of a beast–rather large and heavy.” Link

May be of interest to someone needing more voice eproms for a Drumtrax or for reburning. All voices are high quality samples, surprisingly crisp and clear for 8bit samples!!!!. As already mentioned, all have a window allowing uv exposure. All eproms are in good condition, no bent pins and have been tested and varified in a Drumtrax. Oberheim also have a drum machine using the same technology as the drumtrax. This was called the DMX. I am not sure if these eproms will work in a DMX though.” Link
“Up for auction is my Sequential Circuits Drumtraks.
The unit is in very good condition for the age, and works well.
I bought this thinking I would use it more than I actually did, and now need the space and the cash so unfortunatley it’s got to go!
I have never used the cassette save or load feature so I don’t know if it works, but everything else does so I assume it works too!
As far as I have seen these don’t come up for auction very often, so get it while it’s here!
I am pretty sure I have the original manual for it somewhere and I will include this if I find it before the auction ends.” Link
“This item is being sold as is. It needs some repair or could be used for parts.
Cosmetically, it’s in good shape.
I checked it the best I could and determined there’s at least a couple of things that need repair.
The biggest issue is channel 3 (tom 1 & tom 2) does not work.
The buttons are sticky and the pots need cleaning.
That’s all I know about it. I have no manual for this and no knowledge of drum machines” Link
“This auction is for a Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine w/MIDI in excellent condition. It is cosmetically supreme except for the one wood side which has a chip off of a corner and some small scratches..again, this is only on the one wood end and was like this when I got it; everything else looks awesome for its age.
There is however some issue with a few pad buttons not responding and are inconsistent at best..it is likely just in need of some internal cleaning though this was never a problem for me as I used midi to trigger everything which works as expected” Link
