” Casio CZ-101 is a nice litlle 80s digital synthetizer

This little synth is a real surprise. It sounds nothing like a DX7 as some have suggested. It is more analogue in its design and structure and is capable of much warmth from its DCOs.The build is fantastic. You can develop sounds using conventional parameters. The number of editing parameters is surprisingly comprehensive. is battery powered..like the wasp and cs-01. It is a really useful keyboard..great for people short of space and working on a budget.

In semi-working condition, when you turn it on it says write to memory and stays on just one preset., but there is sound, and all keys do trigger so it can be used as a MIDI controller.

also missing one key, and the volume slider cap., some scratches, also missing it’s battery compartment door.

Buy it to repair or for parts only” Link

“Here is a chance to buy the unique sound of the Casio CZ-101 phase distortion synth. Don’t be fooled by the look or by the fact that it’s made by Casio – this thing is capable of making some truly unique and weird sounds!

This is a pretty old synth and as such is has a number of scratches and what look like burns in the plastic cover / keyboard. It also has a slightly loose power connector which means if you knock the power lead a certain way th synth will reboot. Whilst not ideal, it can certainly still be used but it probably very easy to fix anyway if you handy with a soldering iron (I’m not!).

This comes complete with a memory cartridge (for storing sounds) and with the original manual.” Link

“Casio CZ-101 CZ 101 CZ101 CZ Synthesizer Keytar AS IS

Unit turns on , and all white and black keys are working fine. The volume works, and the pitch bend works fine too.

However, none of the other program selection keys respond to the touch. One of the black key is hard to press, but it works once pressed. The battery compartment shows some rust, and if I shake the unit , something rattles inside.

Manual and charger are not included in this auction.

I am not musician, and not the original owner, so no history with it.

It is being sold AS-IS as found. Good for fix or parts. ” Link

“Up for bid is the CASIO CZ-101 KEYSTAR Synthesizer. Selling AS IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY.

“Up for bid is a Casio cz-101 Digital Synthesizer. Works fine and sounds great, has a few scratches and dings here and there from playing gigs. The power cord has been repaired and permanetly attached. A very versatile synth that is pretty much bulletproof. Hard to part with it, but I need to start getting rid of some things.” Link

“The synth has been sitting in a closet for 5 or 6 years now and works great. I don’t have the power adapter, but you can get one at Radio Shack or on eBay for pretty cheap. It does work off of the batteries. I’ll even send the batteries that are currently in it :) Link

“This Casio CZ-101 is missing two white keys, but other than that it is still in great working condition. Still able to create the great analog sounds that made this classic 80s synth so popular. This auction is for the synth only. The power supply is not included.” Link

“This one-of-a-kind keyboard is in great condition. It works and has been fully tested (and played). There are no bad keys. You’ll just need to use a DC 9V adapter or batteries for power. While I tested it with a DC adapter I did not have enough batteries on hand to test the battery functionality (takes 6 D size). I have no reason to believe that it does not work. The battery door is intact. I have taken pictures with it plugged in so you can see it powered up (power adapter is not included). There is some wear on the bottom of the unit, mostly scuffs to the paint or coating with a few scratches. The keyboard has a knob on each side that you can use for a shoulder strap (if playing as a keytar). I have not tested the memory card functionality because I don’t own a memory card. However, I was able to modify and save internal patches easily.” Link

‘A classic. I’m not a keyboard player so this synthesizer basically spent its entire life in my closet. (I’m the original owner. I’d purchased it new from a store in Hollywood.) I’d describe it as in New Old Stock condition (NOS in Fender speak); basically mint. I’d even gotten the RAM and programmable cartridges (both the RA-6 and the RA-3 are included in the deal). I You get analog or digital type sounds with easier programming features than Yamaha DX type synthesizers. I have all the manuals too (also included in this auction but not shown)! ” Link

“”In good cosmetic condition and in 100% functioning condition”

Includes two memory cartridges (1 Casio the other an EZ-CZ cart.) and an Archer PSU.
Please see pix as to unit’s condition.
Everything works as it should and sounds great too !!!

I mainly used it for bass tracks… really has great bass presence in a track.
It also has an eight stage envelope generator, great for pads that swell.
The Casio M-cartridge is great… the EZ-CZ has four memory banks,
but every time you change the two AAA batteries you loose your patches…
though this shouldn’t be a problem if your using a universal librarian.
This little synth is most definitely not a toy… but a killer little synth classic.” Link

“Here’s a nice CZ-101 in pretty good shape considering it’s age. All buttons and keys work. There are only three areas that need to be pointed out.

First – the headphone output is noisy intermittently. It wasn’t a big deal to me because a twist of the headphone plug would usually knock the noise level down. The line output is not noisy at all. I cranked it up recently and it sounded pretty clean.

Second – there is some corrosion in the battery compartment. There is no evidence of batteries leaking in the battery compartment or anywhere internally so I just chalk this up to old age. It does have the original battery door.

Thirdly – the line select 1+1′ light does not always come on when cycling through the line select configurations. It does not effect the sound in any way and a gentle tap on the light will usually cause it to light up. I didn’t think it was worth fixing.

Otherwise it has some scratches and rub marks but nothing that effects the sound. Also included is a very rare EZ-CZ RAM cartridge. This stores four banks of 16 sounds for a total of 64 sounds available in addition to the internal 32 sounds. The sounds that came with it are long gone but I have replaced the battery (typical 3 volt button battery) so it should be good for another 10 years or so. I will also include a third party power supply of the correct voltage and amperage for this synth.

If you’ve bothered to read this far you know what this classic mini-synth is all about. On it’s own or layered with another synth it has always had a place in my studio. I’m only selling it because I am funding other purchases and I have another CZ hanging around here somewhere.” Link

cz101 “This auction is for a vintage Casio CZ-101 digital synthesizer. It is used, but in great condition. Works perfectly and looks great. Made in the mid 1980′s. It is a fully programmable polyphonic synthesizer with 49 keys, pitch shift control, midi in/out, and can run on a 9volt dc power supply or 6 D-size batteries.

The original manual is included, and I will also throw in a power supply you can use. The power supply doesn’t look great, but works perfectly.” Link

casio sz101 “From the ’80s in fine playing condition., a few scuff and scratches here and there (there is a large scratch next to the display, check the pictures), but overall nice looking.

Battery cover is included

It has a digital synth that sounds a lot like the virtual analogs of today! I had a korg prophecy and they sounded very similar

Strap it like a keytar! It has pegs on the sides and most important is the pitch ribbon I inserted on the side mounted on a piece of wood and painted black., this mod just mirrors what the pitch wheel does, but it can do very nice bends or tap on it to give you a guitar like effect on it., pitch range can be adjusted to an octave so you can get those very crazy jordan rudess like bending.

Use it as a sound source or as a master MIDI controller.

Comes with a generic ac adaptor (has been spliced and repaired and look kind of ugly but works fine). Also included is a disk full of patches so you can have a wider pallette of sounds” Link

“The CZ-101 is a digital synth and although the programming is somewhat limited there are plenty of analog-like traits and sounds to interest most anybody. It has a good 8-stage envelope design and uses Phase Distortion (PD) synthesis which gives it some pretty great sounds. The sounds are very similar to the Yamaha DX synthesizers, and they’re much more affordable. PD is Casio’s own take on digital synthesis from the mid-eighties and is found in all of their CZ series. You basically modify digital waveforms (sine waves) to create various sounds. It can create wild new sounds, notably percussive sounds. Three sets of 8-stage envelope sections are used to modulate your sounds extensively. The first is used to modify the DCO pitches over time. Another 8-stage envelope section in the DCW is used to modify the Phase Angle over time (like filtering). Finally the DCA amplifier also has an 8-stage envelope to modify the volume of sounds over time. For further tweaking the CZ-101 employs some surprisingly analog effects. Four types of Vibrato make up a simple LFO-type section with triangle, square, ramp up or down waveforms as well as rate, depth and delay settings. Portamento adds that classic glide effect from one note to the next. Double up on the oscillators with 4-note polyphony. Built-in noise and ring modulation. It’s also MIDI equipped with 4 monophonic multitimbral parts.” Link
