“On offer and in excellent working condition complete with power charger comes this vintage Yamaha CS-01 portable synthesizer. Originally designed for use by novice musicians or first time synth-buyers, the CS-01 has been recognized by today’s electronic musicians as one fat little bass machine with simple controls. In a nutshell, the CS-01 is simple to use and edit but still has some great features for any situation. It’s tiny and portable, it has baby-sized keys and it can run on batteries, and there is a built-in amplifier and speaker which is quite fun.” Link

“For auction is a Yamaha CS-01 analog synthesizer.

This tiny portable synth is great for live or studio use. The CS-01 is battery powered and in very good condition all the sliders and switches work as they should. This synth is capable of making very nice bubbly and growling bass!

Included in the auction is the rare sc-01 carry case which is perfect for keeping it in great condition. The straps from the carry case an be clipped onto the side of the synthesizer so it can be used live.” Link

“You are bidding on a Yamaha CS01. It is a fully analog monophonic synthesizer with a single VCO, a resonant VCF, and ADSR. It is great for squelchy leads and fat basses, has strap pegs so you can wear it as a keytar, and even has an input for a breath controller. It might be small, but it’s no toy!

The VCO can do a triangle wave, a sawtooth wave, a square wave, a pulse wave with pulse width modulation, and white noise. Don’t be fooled by this synth’s small stature or single VCO, because the PWM can get FAT!

While this synth does not have patch memory, it has A SLIDER FOR EVERY PARAMETER, and is supremely tweakable. Programming this thing is a breeze.

This synth can run on batteries or can be plugged into an outlet with the included power adapter. I lost the battery cover, but replaced it with a very sturdy velcro cover. This does not affect the synth’s ability to run on batteries, it still works great!.

The synth is in good working condition. The back of it is a little dirty, but this has no effect on the function whatsoever. While this synth works perfectly at the moment, it is sold as is with not warranties whatsoever.” Link

“While I’m pretty sure it still worked just a few years ago, it has unfortunately not survived the seasonal cycles of cold, heat, humidity and condensation while in storage in my garage. I have no idea if it can be resuscitated, but the thought of this special little unit going to the scrap heap makes me very sad.” Link

“You’re bidding on an original, one owner Yamaha CS-01 mini synth from the early 80’s. All of the buttons, keys, sliders etc. are in working condition. This instrument works as well as the day that I bought it. I used it as a demo instrument as a music teacher back in the day. It’s all original, including the original box and instruction manual. There is no damage in the battery compartment. This is one of the only synths with a breath controller input. A great retro instrument!” Link

“Still in excellent condition for its age and fully working. Pots and switches have been cleaned out and all work very well and still have a good feel
All keys function and trigger every time pressed. Battery cover fitted and no leakage inside the cover

The CS-01 is a very old but classic analog monosynth from Yamaha. The CS-01 has been recognized by today’s electronic musicians as one fat little bass machine with simple controls. In a nutshell, the CS-01 is simple to use and edit but still has some great features for any situation. It’s tiny and portable, it has baby-sized keys and it can run on batteries, and there is a built-in amplifier and speaker which is quite fun.
As for sounds and synthesizing, the CS-01 is the perfect monosynth for bubbly and growling bass! It features a very nice 12dB resonant VCF filter. In addition to the oscillators’ sine and square type waveforms there is PWM and noise. There are also LFO controls, glissando (like portamento), a typical ADSR envelope generator, pitch & mod wheels and even a breath controller input. Some of the lead sounds are superb when a bit of external effect is used – reverb, delay and any other units you might have” Link

“Yamaha CS01 in great condition. the most amazing sounding mono synth ever! Power supply not included uses standard 12V 500Ma adaptor.” Link

“This is a fully working Yamaha CS-01 Mk 1 monophonic synthesiser, great for basslines and fully portable.

All sliders, switches and keys are present and correct. This synth is in excellent working condition (note- I have never owned a BC-1 breath controller so have not tested this feature)
The synth is missing the battery cover, however, I have used this synth with batteries and can assure you that they remain firmly in the compartment. The casing is scratched, the majority of it on the underside.

Also included:

* correctly rated 12V power supply (non Yamaha) that I have used to operate this synth
* downloaded instruction manual
* downloaded service manual” Link

“This rare little beast is in great condition, and is working 100%. No missing slider knobs or other parts. Includes Yamaha case (not intended for the CS-01, but it works great for it) and wall-wart power supply.

The CS-01 has a 12db resonant filter, great-sounding PWM, and creates some really cool bass and other monosynth sounds. It even has inputs for a breath controller for added expression, and pegs for strapping this on like a guitar. It is small, battery-powered (batteries included), and has a built-in speaker, but when you plug this into a real sound system, you’ll hear why the CS-01 became a staple sound of OMD, Dust Brothers, and many others.

Keyboard will be professionally packed. Will ship anywhere; international buyers should email for exact shipping costs.” Link

“This is my Yamaha CS01, I have plugged it into my P.A and all works apart from modulation control. This has seized and 2 keys are not working. 1 key has a mark on it as shown in photo. Other than that, sounds great and comes with original box which is a little tatty and owners manual.” Link

“Here we have a Yamaha CS-01 Synth that I am selling on behalf of my brother. He bought it brand new back in the day.

Comes with original box and instruction manuals.

He has always looked after it and kept it in the box in the house, not had much use at all.

The condition is excellent no discolouring on the keys, still nice and white.

All sliders including modulation and pitch control work as they should, but there is a problem with 6 keys. Sometimes they work sometimes they don’t. Could need a bit of a clean inside, apart from this all the other keys work perfectly.

I have plugged this synth into an amp and it sounds awsome.

Runs on batteries and ac adapter (not included), I have tested both ways and it works fine.

This keyboard also comes with a padded PVC carry case for easy transportation.

Who ever buys this synth will not be disappointed as the condition is amazing for a 27 year old keyboard.” Link

“Been in my family since new!
It has not seen used for a good while, so i’d like it to go somewhere where it will get played. (then buy something else that I will use)
I plugged it now to make sure it works, and YES! it does.
Put it through my P.A. and the house was shaking with big Phat Bass Sounds!

It goes a little beyomd my capabilities to be honest, the little faults I notice were scratches on the back, and writing in a security pen (my brothers) that you can hardly see.
The battery cover is missing (please note I put batteries in earlier and it did not work on them) I will try with brand new ones tomorrow.

All the sliders work, the pitch slider did’nt seem to do any thing though? It could be me not knowing what I’m doing?
I can’t get my head around VCO/VCF,VCA etc..

All I can say is that to my limited knowledge all the Waves, Attack, Feet, Release, Decay, Sustain, Freq cut off, EG Depth, Glissando, Pitch Bend, Modulation, well everything! etc work. The little speaker works too!
It comes with a wrap around cover, thats held with velcro. Good to protect the keyboard.” Link

“This one has been in my collection of vintage goodies for over 20 years.

Used to work great, but don’t seem to be able to get it going on batteries at the moment.

Probably an easy fix.

Sold as seen.” Link

“Great little 80s analog monosynth capable of making huge bass sounds (a good reason it’s often used for dub reggae). It’s in reasonable condition for its age and is in full working order although I am unable to test the breath control input as I do not have a breath controller. This is the original mark 1 keyboard from 1982.” Link

“Vintage Yamaha CS-01 analog synth in great shape.
These are really hard to find.
It works and looks perfect.

Work with 6 double A batteries.” Link
