“You are bidding on a rare Roland DG CMU-810 analog monosynth module.
This unit is in excellent working condition, it has been thoroughly tested and works like a charm. The sale includes an original Boss power adapter.
The CMU-810 is a module similar to the SH-101, they share many functions and have a similar character, but the CMU has a bassier oscillator and a slightly sharper envelope, this is my opinion after playing with both units first hand.
These units are extremely rare, I had two and sold my previous one on eBay late last year, there’s hasn’t been another on eBay since.
It’s a perfect match to an analogue sequencer or as an expander to a SH-101 or just to use with a MIDI-CV as it’s very compact!” Link
“Very rare Roland Compu Synth CMU-810 up for auction. This is in good working condition and almost looks like new. It was originally made as an add on for the Compu Music CMU-800 which I have for sale in another auction. I don’t know much about these so if you’re not familiar with it, google it for some more info. From what I understand, these are one of the rarest synths ever made by Roland and makes some great sounds. Comes with the manual and adapter. ” Link
“Up for auction is the extremely rare Roland CMU-800 Compu Music with Commodore 64 software, interface and manual as well as the even more desireable Roland Compu Synth CMU-810 with manual. There is even some extra paperwork from a computer magazine and some songs saved on disk. This package is in almost new condition. I’ve seen a couple of these sell on here but never with the commodore 64 interface and software. This would be a great addition to your collection. The auction is for everything you see here. I would like to sell them in a set.” Link
A thousand dollars? Seriously?
“ROLAND CMU 810 in MINT condition. The CMU-810 is one of Roland’s first Expander type modules. It basically has the same guts and sounds as the MC-202. The overall layout mirrors the MC-202 and SH-101 synthesizers very closely. Along the bottom row are sliders and switches for the Oscillators, 24dB VCF analog filter and ADSR VCA envelope sections. The upper row contains the LFO controls and a simple Mixer section. External audio can also be routed in (but not through the filter). Up to two external sources can be added and their levels mixed in. This is a rare but capable analog mono-synth. It can generate true MC-202/SH-101 bass sounds which have become very popular in electronic music. The CMU-810’s obscurity does not come with a heavy price tag either. In fact, they often make a cheaper alternative to the more common Roland bass/lead-synths. But you’ll need some sort of CV/Gate to play any sounds.” Link
