“Great sounding used and refurbished vintage synthesizer, this ARP Quartet is in perfect condition for live gigs and studio work. There is slight cosmetic damage on the wooden sides while all keys, sliders and instruments sound precise and fully operational. This unit has been worked on in a non-smoking studio environment in Nashville Tennessee, where it was modified to include playing all four preset instruments all at once. All LEDs work, only the power switch is slightly cracked. The volume slider is a slight scratchy if moved to fast, I like to slowly adjust the volume with my amplifier and dial in a good level. This synthesizer was manufactured between 1979 to 1980, so please be very delicate. I loved this keyboard immensely however I must sell it to pay bills. It definitely can emulate sounds of the late 70’s to early 80s new wave Joy Division synth to even a very retro 60s Doors/Animals organ” Link

quartet “Firstly let me start by saying I don’t know much about this equipment, it was used in the eighties by a family member who is no longer with us, it has been in safe/dry storage since, I can see these are now getting as rare as hens teeth due to a pretty limited production run as it seems once someone gets one they just won’t let it go !, its for this reason I would like this to go to a new home where it can be used for its original purpose and enjoyed/cherished by a new owner,

I have gently cleaned the exterior and it is in very good condition, please study the photos carefully, a few points to note,

– LED’s are operational on only Volume and Sustain (you may just see this in the photo)

– The Trombone and Piano slider/flip switches are loose and need remediation for them to work.

– The top case to frame screws are missing (to the left of ‘Quartet’ and to the right of ‘ARP’)

– Unit powers up fine and I have tested the 4 main instrument’s (Brass, Strings, Organ & Piano, all keys appear to be working fine and are in really good cosmetic condition).” Link

quartet “This ARP Quartet looks really good. It has all the knobs, and the lights all seem to work. These were only made for 2 years, I believe, so they are super rare!!! I purchased this with the knowledge that 3 out of the 4 sounds were working. The Brass section apparently isn’t working. However, while inspecting and testing, the sound cut out completely. This could be a very simple fix, it could be complex. I’m unsure, but it does need some love, and professional love at that.” Link

arpquartet “Vintage ARP QUARTET Analog Synthesizer 49-key Keyboard.
Comes with vintage carrying case, in which I have installed new foam.
For its age I would say that it is in very good condition. An 8 out of 10.
All of the wood is in great condition. All switches, potentiometers, LEDs, outputs/pedal input and keys now work and play as they should without any audible static. I’ve cleaned up the keyboard chassis, face and keys. I also cleaned/treated the switches, in/outs, pots and key contacts with Caig DeoxIT. I’ve replaced a faulty op-amp transistor in the output section with a socket and new IC, as well as a few capacitors. I have replaced the loose power switch to closely match the original (loose switch shown in photos). The rear panel seems to have suffered from foam rot contamination and has somewhat changed the texture of the paint finish, yet it is not brittle and it does not flake off at all. It almost looks intentional having the rear panel textured. The only rust I found is on some of the screws and in/outs outer exposed hardware (all of which have been treated with DeoxIT).” Link

quartet “Arp Quartet keyboard for spares or repair.

Very poor cosmetic condition. Missing selector switch stems (the internal selector switches work). All keys do generate sound after a few presses (contacts will need cleaning). Most of the internal ribbon connectors have been replaced. The string section doesn’t work when Percuss or Solo are elected and the strings are very distorted.

Wooden side panel needs replacing as it has taken a considerable hit at some point.

Need to add, it is very flakey, sometimes if the lid has moved it doesn’t sound at all so there is still a loose contact(s) inside somewhere.

Might be useful for spare keys, control switches etc. The keys look similar to the ones used on the odyssey, quadra, axe etc.” Link

quartet “Amazing sounding instrument! It’s very full sounding when you get to layering. Overall the condition is good, some nicks and a random chip on the back, a little dust here and there. Keys feel phenomenal and buttery, all keys will fire. Wood sides a little nicked up, the bottom is little nicked and scratched as well. The high and low output was tested, works fine. The power switch is a little knocked up, but it will power on and work just fine. Will need to replace eventually. The angle stands on the bottom work great. Overall all the different instruments in the orchestra sound great and will be modified by their respective sound modifiers. Volume slider is a tad bit touchy, it can really jump on you. Not a lot of scratching in any sliders. Buttons trigger fine without needing to mash into it at all. Tuning works. ” Link

arp_quartet “Hi! You are bidding on a vintage ARP Quartet Synth/Keyboard in perfect working condition! I am not a keyboard player, so please bear with me as I don’t know much about vintage keyboards. This Arp Quartet is in good condition for its age. Cosmetically it’s pretty clean but certainly has plenty of little dings and signs of wear. I cleaned it up and sprayed out the switches, and all functions APPEAR to work. All LEDS work. All Keys work. To the best that I can determine, all functions work perfectly. The only two things to mention are 1) The Attack and Sustain buttons are slightly bent to the right, and the Power switch in the rear pops out of it’s socket at the top when you turn it off, although it works and lights up just fine. Looks like a simple fix. ” Link

It’s fully functional and in good cosmetic shape considering its age, please check pics for cosmetic damage. There’s the usual bit of scratching when moving some sliders like you’d expect, but as soon as you pick your setting then the sound is rock solid!

These are really awesome sounding machines and the strings are beyond warm and to die for, as used by ‘War On Drugs’ and check out Adrian Utley ‘Portishead’ studio interview on YouTube where he raves about them!” Link

quartetr “Selling a Vintage ARP Quartet Analog Synth with original Music Stand and the correct volume pedal that was recommended for it when first introduced. Every thing works. The cabinet is not perfect and has some blemishes but not terrible either. For vintage synth collectors, this is a must especially for ARP collectors. I have cleaned all of the sliders and they are tight and no unwanted noise. The keys are solid and all working. The low E has a very small chip in the front left side. ARP used these keys in about 5 of their synths and I have seen time on Ebay from time to time. I have not idea how much trouble it would be to replace but right now it certainly is not necessary. I was going to consider trading for a Roland Juno 60 but that never worked out. The volume pedal works great and I have never seen this advertised with any other Quartet. This is a very early ARP synth that was built with the assistance of SIEL in Italy. Just like some of their other Synths. I wish I could keep this, but I just no longer have the room since I have downsized my living arrangements.” Link

quartet “Up for sales is an Arp Quartet Synthesizer Keyboard. I purchase this keyboard in 1980 and play it for fun and in bands until 1983 when I got married (kind of killed the band thing). It has been stored (smoke free, pet free) for the last 32 years. Here is a brief description of the Arp Quartet from vintagesynth.com;

“It’s a 4-part orchestral synthesizer with 4 sections: Brass, Strings, Organ and Piano. These 4 tone color families can be played individually or two can be simultaneously played. They are also individually tweakable. Selected presets will light up LEDs to show you which sliders and buttons can be used to modify the current section. The synth itself is very limited however, and there’s no external control, no pitch/mod wheel and few edit parameters. But it sounds very good and it is, after all, a classic analog synth.”

An ARP Quartet demonstration video can be seen on YouTube by searching for ‘ARP Quartet’ in the search field.

When I got it out of the basement in January, I noticed it needed some restoration work. I don’t have the owner’s manual anymore, but as far as I can tell, everything is working properly. The restoration includes;

1) The flip switch post has all been replaced with brass tubing
2) Slide pots that needed to be replaced have been replaced
3) All key contact and flip switch contact have been clean
4) AC power cord replaced with UL Listed removable power cord
5) Cleaning inside and out of the entire instrument
6) No leaking caps causing key bleeding

Early this year I listed this keyboard for local pick-up only. There was a lot of interest in relisting the item with shipping. Before I could re-list with shipping, I felt I had to get a shipping container for the Quartet. So, included in this listing is a new, custom made road case for the Quartet (see pics). Here is a list of what is included in this listing;

1) One (1) Arp Quartet Synthesizer Keyboard – Serial Number: 1801476
2) One (1) AC power cord
3) One (1) Custom build road case w/custom inserts
4) One (1) Arp Quartet Service Manual” Link

I have tested all the switches, keys and voices. All work with no key leaks. The slider knob is missing on the volume slider, and the sliders may have to be used (they have been cleaned and lubed) to get them to move smoothly. ” Link

arp quartet” For sale, rare ARP Quartet 49 key analog synthesizer made by an Italian company named Siel.

Siel calls their version The Orchestra.

I bought this but hardly ever used it since I always had other distractions to keep me from enjoying this great keyboard.

This synthesizer has four sections dedicated to horns and string instruments.

This should round out a band and make it sound fuller with the accompaniment.

I would like to sell this keyboard to someone who can enjoy it.

The outer wood shell can use a bit of TLC while the keys all work well.” Link

tlc arp quartet“Here I have an Arp Quartet. This item may be salvageable as I consider it to be about 75% functioning. It appears as though the strings, organ, and piano sounds work. However, when switched to brass, turning on either or both brass instruments produces NO sound. Also, it seems like vibrato stays on even after turning off that effect. Percuss and solo don’t seem to do anything that I can tell. Finally, sound can only be heard out of the left channel. Aside from technical issues, this item has some cosmetic problems. The colorful covers that go over the switches are missing. The cover for the brass instruments is missing. There is a crack in one of the keys. The wood panels are a little banged up. Item is sold AS-IS. US buyers only. ” Link
