“Console 32″ x 18″ x 9″
Keyboard 35″ x 10″ x 6″ 3604-p
WEIGHT: 58 Ibs

Restored by the Arp loving expert Discrete Synths in Georgia.
The 2600 console is sounding and looking very nice. The keyboard electronics are now fully operational and calibrated.
On 3604 keyboard the rubber bushings are vulcanized leaving the keyboard mechanically noisy but plays OK now and you can replace the rubber yourself.
Some people decide not to bother with this, and get a MIDI converter to control the 2600 console instead .

The serial number had been removed from the inside of this unit sometime in the 70’s.
The cabinet has been recovered nicely years ago with a non factory tolex but looks very good. You couldn’t tell unless you were an expert into these kinds of details. Still looks cool.
Original owner was in Long Island in the 70’s and a friend but he’s not on this planet to ask these details anymore.
Ian Underwood told me a 2600 was the first synthesizer he owned.”

“Prized ARP 2600, fully functional with original user manual and patch cords. This unit has been completely overhauled, every slider pots has been disassembled, cleaned and re-lubed by myself 2 years ago. This is an early 2600 circa 1973 that has the patent infringed Moog filter 4012. The tolex is in pretty good condition given it is 44 years old. The face panel is in impeccable condition, no scratches or wear. The cable between the unit and keyboard has been replaced with a DIN type connector for a more reliable connection. Don’t really want to sell it but I need to downsize my studio, check out my other items. ” Link

2600 “Synthesizer – Arp 2600 ser#261437
Keyboard -3604p #361411

I have been in possession of this synthesizer for 17 years, and during that time has been well cared for. It worked very well for most of the time that I have had it, but in recent years a few things started to go, so I decided to get it back to perfect playing status.
I took it in for a full diagnostic and refurbishing using a local Detroit area synthesizer guru, the great J Beste. J has worked for the likes of Hans Zimmer during his time in California, in music and film, and is currently working independently and with the likes of Jack White’s 3rd Man records in Detroit, among others. His work is impeccable and I highly recommend the talent of such a detailed and knowledgeable specialist. He spent over 6 months meticulously refurbishing this unit to the best of his abilities, including:

-The disassembling, cleaning and lubing of all of the sliders. Full restoration.

-VCO1, VCO2, and VCO3 have been thoroughly diagnosed or rebuilt, and are all working perfectly.

-The power supply has been recapped, to avoid a common power failure that is indicative of this unit, eliminating future power problems.

-The keyboard bushings have been cleaned and lubed, and a few have been replaced.

-The oscillator chip has been rebuilt.

-The synth has been fully calibrated and tuned.

-All hole plugs are in place.

-Unit comes with original power supply cord, and original keyboard connection cord.

-Arp 2600 includes a bag of original patch cords, a patch manual, and operator manual.

-The unit’s original handle has been replaced, as have a few of the hole plugs, a few key bushings, one slider knob, but aside from that everything else is original.

-All jacks have been reviewed and in some cases repositioned or replaced.

Details to be aware of:

The arp’s Tolex, in some places, is naturally worn. Half of the keyboard’s tolex is missing on the half of the keyboard case–luckily the half that is removed when uncased. I have struggled not to replace the Tolex, but in the end I opted not to, as it is relatively inexpensive to have someone else do for you, and some purists might turn away from it for this reason.

One knob on the keyboard panel is missing.”

arp_2600 “This appears to be a 2603 REV G model 2600, and it sounds amazing.

The face plate is in very good condition, especially for it’s age.

When I purchased this in 2009, the previous owner stated that:

– This model has the much sought after Moog ladder filter.

– This unit was serviced by Greg Montalbano of Analog Synth Service prior to the sale (in 2009).

– These upgrades were installed:

1. An audio path op amp upgrade.

2. New power supply.

3. Installed standard three prong jack so that and standard electronic power cord could be used.

4. A cv/gate input mod was installed on the side, so you can patch a single source of each

through all 3 VCOs without using up the mults, or having to patch into the front.

This has been very useful.

Known issues:

VCO 2 doesn’t work.

VCO 3 pulse output doesn’t work.

These are both recent, but are an easy and inexpensive replacement.

Parts are easily available online.

The decay slider on the ADSR envelope works, but should be addressed.

The bottom for the wooden case, under one of the rubber feet, is starting to dry out.

The tolex is worn, and has been coated with something (prior to my having this) as a temporary fix.

The handle has been removed and there is no cover.

This unit needs a bit of attention, but this is a great opportunity to get a highly sought after synth for a good price. It will be well worth the effort to restore.” Link

26003604 “FOR AUCTION: an original 1971 Tonus logo ARP 2600 semi modular analog synthesizer (model 2600P V1.0 according to discretesynthesizers.com, this is a pre-26xxx serial), complete with its original model 3604-P keyboard. I’ve owned and maintained this synthesizer for about 7 years, purchased locally from its original owner who had it in the back of his closet for years.

Condition: physically and electronically, this is among the nicest ARP synthesizers you’ll find from this era- even the Tolex on the synthesizer is in great shape (only the removable lids have notable peeling and I probably wouldn’t want to rely on them for heavy transport). Electronically, I initially had it restored by Greg Montalbano in Oakland (analogsynthservice.com) who, in addition to general restorative cleaning, also recapped the power supply, replaced the epoxy’d filter with the lower noise CMS 4012 and replaced the internal speakers with new ones purchased from the late Kevin Lightner. It has subsequently been maintained by Chris Hewitt / thisoldsynth.com who I had replace the epoxy’d VCO 2 submodule with a new CMS 4017; you can see his blog for the repair here: http://thisoldsynth.com/blog/2012/03/05/arp-2600-with-bad-vco/ . Both of the original ARP submodules that I’ve replaced will be included.

What’s included: Arp 2600 with keyboard and lids, original power cord, and cable that connects the keyboard to the synthesizer. Two Switchcraft Tiniplugs for shorting internal connections and a few gray patch cables to get you started patching the synthesizer.

What to expect: the synthesizer is in great condition but ultimately behaves like any synthesizer from the 1971– this is not a 2017 Moog Voyager, this will need time to warm up for the oscillators’ frequency to stabilize and the signal path is a little dirtier. The cable that connects the keyboard to the synthesizer is a little sensitive– it could be cleaned or replaced although you’re not going to notice this other than when you plug the two together. You will overdrive/distort the signal mixer if you run multiple VCOs/sound sources into it at too high of a collective volume– this is normal and I believe the CMS 4017 oscillator (VCO 2) outputs a hotter signal in general; you can back down the VCO levels to keep your tone clean or you can overdrive it by choice as with any mixer. The spring reverb is not isolated from the cabinet well at all– it is *very* sensitive to movement; both techs I’ve had work on the ARP have offered to isolate it but I absolutely love it the way it is, it is a gorgeous, messy reverb. I think the 2600 makes a great general spring unit, you can run a guitar or other signal right into the preamp. Ultimately, it’s in great shape but make sure you have a tech who can work on it should anything ever go wrong. It’s a heavy synthesizer and shipping will always be a real expense if you don’t have a local tech. Also– you can ignore the “Arpeggiator / Sequencer” part of eBay’s pre-populated product description, that’s inaccurate.”

ARP 2600 sn2601020x For Sale. This late model 2601 came to us in working order, but, as perfectionists, we wanted it to work like new or better for its next owner and hopefully continue to work well long into the future, so we fully disassembled it, cleaned it inside and out, thoroughly serviced it, rebuilt it and recalibrated it – a costly process taking approximately 19 hours of skilled vintage synth repair tech time. Now that its restoration is complete, it’s a pleasure to play and should make its next owner extremely happy. Unlike earlier models, all circuits inside this model are unencapsulated, with the exception of the ARP 4012 Moog filter. This means this unit will be much easier to service in the future, if need be. This sale includes a power cord. This unit isnt being sold with a keyboard, so be prepared to run it using a MIDI to CV converter, as most people do these days. This unit is in significantly better cosmetic shape than the other we currently have listed on ebay and is therefore priced higher. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Ebay only lets us post 12 photos. This Arp 2600 is in full working condition with minor cosmetic blemishes.
The 3604 Keyboard is in great shape – bushings / keys play very well.
NOTE: there is one broken potentiometer cap on the Sample & Hold “rate” (see photo). This is due to a little-lite falling from a shelf.
NOTE: ebay lists “Arpeggiator” and “Sequencer” under the items features, obviously this is not the case.”

ABSOLUTLEY complete. Comes with original keyboard, patch cables, owner’s manual and v rare suggested patches booklet.

Cosmetics are great and there are no horrors and though the case does show some patina (this is an old synth!) there is no peeling tolex or dented wood etc etc. She looks good!

Functionality is virtually perfect minus scratchy reverb tank sliders and a loose Cinch Jones. (Entire new Reverb tank is only $40 and the Cinch Jones are known to oxidize, which is an easy fix with some cleaner). ” Link

26003604 ” For auction is an ARP 2600 v3 analog synthesizer with case cover and the coveted copper-cased 4012 Moog-ladder-filter-type filter as well as an original 3604 keyboard with case cover, featuring tuning, scaling, and portamento controls. The auction includes the connector cable that connects the synthesizer to the keyboard, the original power cable, seven 1/8th inch patch cables, and a plug for the filter section to defeat keyboard scaling of the filter cutoff, if desired.

This synthesizer is fully-functional. It was just serviced and cleaned by a very competent tech, and the keyboard was re-bushed.

The jacks have seen a lot of use, and are, in high-traffic patch areas, somewhat loose. Repositioning the cable (of the type included) is often required when patching in the CV region of the filter. The cable that connects the synth to the keyboard is fully functional, but is loose enough in general that you might not want to do an Edgar Winters (although there are guitar strap pegs on the edges of the keyboard!). These issues are very minor, but I wanted to be clear about them.

The tolex on the synth, the keyboard, and their case covers is original, and has wear, some slight tears, and one big tear on the bottom (see pictures). All of the fasteners are functional, but they and the other metal outer aspects on the case are worn with some spotting. One of the feet is loose, but simply requires tightening from inside the case. The faces of the synthesizer and of the keyboard are in good condition, and feature original caps and knobs.

This sale is undoubtedly one I will live to regret. I bought this synthesizer in 2006, and it has been one of the best synthesizers I have ever owned. I have used it in countless recordings, and it has served me well. It has lived in my cool, dry, smoke-free studio, and has been treated with care and respect. I am only selling it because I need funding for a business venture.” Link

Graphics on the unit are very crisp and easy to read, and only minor signs of wear to be found on the unit. Check out the pictures below for more details to make sure you like it.

The main unit was fully serviced just last month and is 100% functional. The servicing cost over $1000. The unit is all original except for a brand new reverb tank. This is an early 2601 v1.0 version with the 4012 Moog filter. The only thing worth noting is the keyboard has not been serviced, it does have a few keys that don’t trigger properly, it just needs a simple cleaning of the key bus bar & contacts. It could also possibly use new bushings if desired. Otherwise everything is working as it should. You aren’t likely to find a nicer 260 with Moog filter and the 3620 keyboard anytime soon. Nothing sounds like these old Arps, the newer Eurorack modular stuff doesn’t even come close to the tone of these old analog beasts. used 2600 “This is a rare ARP 2601 V3.0 2601-0721 vintage synthesizer with orange lettering. This synthesizer was originally used at a local college and was very well taken care of. It received a face lift by Phil Cirocco in March which included a rebuild power supply, repaired the 4072 filter, replace w/ blk Odyssey type 1, replace washers and cleaned nuts, front panel restoration, cleaned and lube sliders, cleaned circuit boards and inside chassis, received a full calibration, and comes with 2 original power cords.

The unit does have some rust on the case corners which you can see in the pictures. It also has a mark on the case but the synthesizer itself is in nice condition, especially after the work which was done on it. 26003604 “I bought this as a collectors grade piece, but I just don’t use it enough to justify keeping it. It’s barely be used & sounds better then anything you’ve ever heard. There is 1 tiny flaw in the case, where it was bumped by another synth. The restoration work alone cost $4272.70USD. I’m including the power switcher from UK to USA voltage & the manuals.

Remarks: Although these are not rare by some vintage synth standards, finding an Arp 2600 in anything approaching even good condition is a real challenge in 2014. This is why we invest such a lot of time, resources and money into getting them restored to the highest possible level that can be achieved – a FULL cosmetic and operational project restoration!

This Arp 2600 comes with a 3604P keyboard controller, original Arp power cable, keyboard-to-synth cable, and runs EU 220V. The actual version is a 2600P V3.0, manufactured between 1972 to 1974.

Original Arp Filter for this model (un-encapsulated) 4072

VCOs are original (encapsulated) Arp 4027-1

VCA is (encapsulated) 4019

The restoration work we invest into the Arp 2600 is extensive (what we term Total Restoration). The work includes re-Tolexing the cabinets & lids, stripping the panels to bare metal and having them professionally repainted and screen-printed. We have all the sliders and sockets deep cleaned and the whole synth is electronically restored including the a PSU rebuild/re-cap etc. In addition, we have fitted a brand new 17 inch Acutronics Reverb Tank, and a full set of brand new slider caps.

This RL Music prepared Arp 2600 is over 40 years old, and is in ‘as-new’ condition. On average we spend around £2800 GBP just in restoration costs for these models (synth & keys), so there is no equivalent in terms of quality offered by any person, or business, in the world. If you have been looking to own the ‘perfect’ Arp 2600 then look no further. These highly pro-restored examples are all sold with a full 6 months warranty.” Link

26000 “Here we have my own personal Genuine ARP 2600 vintage Synth

ARP’s 2600 is without a doubt one of the finest analog synthesizers ever produced.

It has the 4012 filter and the 4027-1 oscillator chips.

This particular 2600 has been fully serviced by non other than Kent Spong of KSR and is now in full working order. It’s not been cheap getting this 2600 right but well worth it.

The keyboard which is a 3604P has an issue, it won’t gate properly. Kent said that the parts needed to sort it are very hard to come by and as I wasn’t using the keyboard, I left it at that.

I have been using my 2600 in conjunction with a Kenton pro 2000 with excellent results and it can be configured to be played 3 note polyphonically

It has had a re trim, in proper leather at a cost of £600 but there is no lid for the case.

So I’ve decided to let it go, I’ll probably live to regret it !!” Link

2600 “Here’s the chance you’ve been waiting for. For sale is an incredibly rare Arp 2600 synthesizer with the Tonus logo. What makes this Arp special over most of the ones you see is it has the superior sought after 4017 oscillators, said to be more stable than the later versions and also with a fatter analog tone. It also has the rare 4012 Moog Latter-design Filter which Arp was later sued over and had to change the design. The later design is said to be weaker and thinner sounding. This Moog filter is super creamy and buttery, very incredible sound. The synth is 100% fully functional, recently tuned/calibrated and gone over, all sliders are clean and jacks are working and power supply board has been recapped. The keyboard keys all trigger properly, and has an upgraded connector jack that isn’t as flimsy as the original connectors. Also upgraded is the power cable, it takes standard 3 prong instead of the proprietary oval shape. The only issue is 3 slider shafts are broken off, the slider still work but the shafts are shorter without the knob caps (which could be glued back on or replace the sliders entirely if desired). Cosmetically, the synth face looks very nice, crisp graphics and not much wear. The outside of the synth does show quite a bit of wear, especially on the lid covers. The lids for both keyboard and main unit are included but show a bit of peeling, so be sure to check out the pictures and make sure you like it. The cosmetics could easily be touched up with a retolexing if desired or you can appreciate the vintage character to it. The sound is the important part which is just really incredible and noticeably better than the other G-clef or black/orange 2600s I’ve played that didn’t have the 4017 and Moog filters in them. I am open to offers but remember while your offer is pending someone else may snap this up. Don’t miss out on this gem!” Link

arpo sy ” This particular 2600 has a rather unusual modification, as shown on the panel it is called phase locking. I have gotten more information about this since I last listed this.
THIS IS AN ARP MODIFICATION, VERY RARE !!! THE MATCHING STENCILED LABEL YOU SEE ON THE FRONT PANEL uses matching font, color etc
I’m going to go ahead and list this to someone who wants to take this on as a very moderate repair based purchase. I have gone inside and done diagnosing and have determined that the power supply is good, I also just recapped it, and it’s in great order now. …..a number of the major modules are functioning and only a couple of slide pots need replacement. I also noticed that 1 4027 oscillator module is missing, and its associated waveform converter board is missing. So that is the condition I am listing it in. The filter module has been removed from the circuit board and I have successfully unpotted and repaired it, to full working order, …..sounds great !” Link

used arp 2600 “Rare Arp 2600 – Fully restored internals – Upgraded to better than new!

If you are looking at this listing you already know what makes the Arp 2600 classic,so I’ll just tell you about what makes this Arp different from the rest!

Console:
Power supply upgrade
Reverb tank upgraded with 17″ tank
APU upgrade
VCA upgrade
4072 filter 4012CX ARP ladder filter upgrade
All sliders chemical bath and lube
1 reverb cable microphonic replaced
84 rusty 1/8th jack washers replaced
84 rusty 1/8th jack nuts replaced
VCO3 slider in vcf mixer rebuilt
Front panel, boards, inside, and lid cleaned
Full calibration

Keyboard:
Oxidized connector clean and burnish * $35.00
Stiff sliders recondition
CV output erratic clean and burnish key contacts
Rusty jack washers and nuts replace
Rusty black hardware replace
Dirty panel, keys, inside, lid clean
Calibrate

All of this work was carried out by Phil Cirocco in 2013, since then the synthesizer has seen relatively little use and has spent it’s time in a smoke free home studio. So functionally it’s better than new.

I have all of the original patch cables and power supply cable plus an original patch book for the 2600. I also have a new power supply cable (included) and I would recommend using new eurorack patch cables on a day to day basis!

Now on to the not so good stuff:
Aesthetically the case isn’t top notch, I didn’t ever get around to getting it recovered as I kinda liked the patina.

Otherwise the case is missing a couple of latch anchors, which isn’t great but I couldn’t find any OEM replacements and so I left them as is VS putting on new hardware that might not look so good.

You can see the overall state of the case and missing latches in the pictures. ” Link

2600 ” Up for sale is this beautiful ARP 2600 2601 v1.0 with 3620 keyboard. Both are in excellent, fully functional condition and have been restored and upgraded (see below). The “orange and black” 2601 is the last 2600 version produced by ARP. It is the most reliable version, an update to the more common grey version. None of the modules are set in epoxy, making it more serviceable in the long run. The 3620 keyboard is also the last revision of the keyboard produced specifically for the 2600. It has and added LFO (to free one of the oscillators), but best of all, it has duophony!” Link

used arp 26 00“The latest piece of Holy Grail gear from my collection is this Arp 2600 – G Clef version with keyboard.

Purchased fully refurbished from RL Music in 2009, kept in my private studio since it was fully serviced by Mos Labs recently and sounds warm and wonderful like an Arp should.
From Stevie Wonder to R2D2 this classic has it all ;-)” Link
