“YAMAHA KX1 KEYTAR

MIDI CONTROLLER <<<>>> 1 OWNER & VERY RARE !

I purchased this KX1 brand new in 1983 and the original and only owner. I custom painted it a “burnt orange” copperish color (Ford truck paint code: BN). I never had it re-lettered or put the Yamaha name back on because I wanted the cool color to stand out and looks “stealth” too! Very easy to learn what each button and function does with still having the original owners manual.

INCLUDED:

Also the road case you see pictured, (Calzone ATA), which it will be shipped in. Also the battery pack which holds 6 “AA” batteries, the strap, original owners manual and the 50 foot MIDI cord.

NOTES: there are a couple paint chips at the very tip of the neck, (see pictures), the ribbon control quit working over 10 years ago, but never really needed to repair it. (I have heard the part is still available, but again, never desired to persue repairing it). the MIDI cord has one end that has half the metal sleeve in the keyboard & the other end is still on the cord. It still works fine so I never fixed it!!! I would recommend putting a new end on it and will even give you the part. LASTLY: the road case definitly does it’s job of protecting the keyboard and shows the wear & tear that 25 years would normally expect. Now the artistic drawing and notes written in a sharpie marker inside the case….. well, remember, I was 17 at that time and was very bored!!” Link

“Yamaha SHS-10 for parts This is a non-working Keytar style keyboard from the mid 80’s. I have not been able to power it up and it is missing some case screws as well as the battery compartment cover. It is also missing a key as shown in the photo. It is being sold “as is” and for parts only. It might be fixable but I am making no claims for that possibility. The case is scratched.”

” Made by ATS CASES from Natick, MA. The outside of this case measures approximately 28×20x8″. Weight is approximately 18 lbs. Foam inside vintage cases like this is often in bad condition. This foam isnt great, but we’ve seen worse. We usually push our fingers into it to see how long it takes to expand again and in this case, we ended up making a few probably permanent depressions as a result. we would highly recommend removing and replacing this foam with new foam if you plan on using this case though it should certainly be good enough if youre careful. the outside of the case is in good shape for a used case of its type and age. theres a little surface rust on the outside and some typical scratches and imperfections from being moved around over the years. theres what appears to be some dirt or even mold on the foam that was against one of the former occupants wooden sides. Sequential Pro-One sold separately.” Link

ARP, Axxe @ 29 July 2009, “No Comments”

“This is cosmetically a nice example of the first run of Arp Axxe’s called the 2810 which has been said to have been discontinued due to the use of a patent Moog filter. The Axxe I am selling is in need of a tech because it’s gone crazy! After warming up, it acts unpredicatable and it’s impossible to play save for industrial noise fest type stuff. All of the sliders and keys seem to work but the the tone doesn’t stop when the key is released and is sometimes prone to shift even with the Random Noise Generator turned off. In this condition, you can manage to get some crazy sounds but will not be able to actually play anything you can duplicate later. It even seems to get weirder the longer it’s on. Definately, you will want to get this synth serviced so factor that into the amount you decide to bid. ” Link

AX-60, Akai @ 28 July 2009, “No Comments”

“This auction is for my superb Akai AX 60 analogue synthesizer. This is a reluctant sale to fund the purchase of another instrument.

The Akai comes with a copy of the owner’s manual. It also has a professional keyboard stand, but I don’t think I can ship this so it’s free for anyone who can collect the keyboard. The shipping quote below does NOT include the stand and the stand won’t come with the keyboard if I have to ship.

The Akai is in absolutely superb cosmetic condition and is full functional. I’m not an expert on synths: I’m a piano player and bought this to use in my latest band; however what I really need is a digital piano so this has to go.” Link

AX-60, Akai @ 28 July 2009, “No Comments”

“This is a Akai Professional AX60 Programmable Polyphonic Synthesizer with exclusive sampler input / arpeggiator / 4 split mode / stereo chorus / 2 independent EG. All of which I know nothing about as I am not a musician. I hear that it has really good bass. Comes with the Operator’s Manual. This item has been carefully packed away for the last 15 years. There are no dents, dings, scratches, or broken anything. With the exception of one missing slider knob this unit looks like it just came out of the box. Please look at all photos. Stand not included. So, if you have been waiting for an AX60 that doesn’t look like it has been used all to hell, this is your chance. ” Link

“For sale is an Oberheim Xpander, a 6 voice analog synth with matrix modulation.
XLR Mods, Custom Case, 6 Voice Vintage Analog Beast!
This might be the nicest, most beautiful xpander you’ll ever see.
The previous owner wasn’t kidding when he said it looked like it just came off the factory production line.
This thing is pretty close to perfect. It has the rare scratch or wood panel scruff, but otherwise near museum quality, especially amazing considering it’s 20+ years age.
Not only that, but is has the Oddernmart Mod installed, giving you XLR inputs and outputs for processing and sending signals, so you can run a variety of sounds through your Xpander.
Works perfectly, has useful inputs for CV/gate inputs, so you can even run an analog sequencer through this or hook up your other analog/modular gear.
Made in USA, which most say sounds fuller than later Japan versions.
Has amazing Oberheim sound, legendary filters. You won’t ever find another one this nice!
Also comes with a very nice condition custom case for safe shipping and travel.

“This particular beast was made on April 1, 1976, but far from a joke; it is an awesome old beast.

I am not a collector, but a player and certified tech. I repair many of the synths in the midwest KC area, and keep many musicians in “play”. I am also a demanding player.

The Filter Contour Pot and knob are not original, and it has some warts and discoloration externally, but as an instrument it is 100% operational and ready for your sonic arsenal.
Bottom particle board panel is a bit ugly, but that is original. Added a new AC power cable. Old one was corroded and nasty.

In addition I have just rebuilt the Pitch ribbon and have gone over several internal connections to insure quality of operation. Stays in tune and doesn’t freak (unless you want it too.) No spider eggs either. ” Link

Moog, Prodigy @ 27 July 2009, “No Comments”

“This is being sold as is. I have no amp or cords to test it. Cosmetically it looks nice, no major issues. all the knobs are and switches are in good shape. Previous owner is dead, was picked up at an estate sale, so I don’t know much about the history of the instrument.” Link

Moog, Opus 3 @ 27 July 2009, “No Comments”

“Here we have a MOOG OPUS 3 Vintage Synthesizer from the early 1980’s. I had this synth listed a couple of months ago but a non paying bidder did not follow through with the transaction…so I am finally getting around to listing it again. It is serial no. 5323 and seems to work the way it should. I plugged a set of headphones into the output jacks and could hear the sound of the keyboard, although it was not very loud since the outputs are line out and not headphone out. The wood parts do have some mars and scratches as you can see by the photos, but all the knobs and switches are original and color coded. There is one key on the top end that appears to have a cigarette mar on it (as seen in the last pic) but other than that all the keys are nice and bright. ” Link

Moog, Source @ 27 July 2009, “No Comments”

Moog, Prodigy @ 27 July 2009, “No Comments”

“I never thought that I would do this but I am selling my Prodigy. There is nothing at all wrong with this synth, it is in top operational form. Cosmetically, the wood could use some TLC if your into that kind of thing. The wood is pretty scratched up. All the sliders and knobs are original, the silkscreening is all very legible and the keys are all straight. It comes with the original owners manual still bound with all it’s pages so you don’t have to hunt down a bad photocopy scan of one, you get the real thing with this auction. ” Link

“For auction is a vintage Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter analog 8 voice Synth. Gorgeous warm and fat sounds. This is the highly sought after Rev-4 version and comes with original M-64C
Cartridge.

I don’t have the programmer which is sold separately. I use the virtual programmer in Logic which can be found here on Ebay for $20.

When the unit is first powered up, there is a soft buzzing sound (not in the signal path) that occurs. Sometimes it goes away after a about 10 minutes. Other times it quiets even further down but can still be heard. ” Link

“awesome little unit. pure analog madness. cuts through VST plugins and soft synths like a knife through butter. battered, scarred but hard. sick acid wickedness at its best. great for starting points for dub bass of any kind, screaming leads and bubbles galore.I bought it to rack mount and get it further modified and lost interest. really dont know much about it except it sounds crazy deep. as is due to its age. no power Supply but easy to get.” Link

“This unit is in great shape, works great and looks very good with only a few light scratches. Excellent overall condition. No missing knobs, faders or buttons and all keys in great condition.

The battery door has the clips broken but still holds secured in place and there is a small sign of corrosion inside the battery compartment (see pic)

It comes with the power adapter.

Manual and original box not included” Link

“This auction is for a Roland SVC-350 vintage analog vocoder. It is renowned as one of the finest vocoders available as it includes an adjustable 11-band equalizer to refine your sound, (which was not available on the Roland VP-330 or Korg VC-10). This unit is in excellent functional condition. The rack ears have minor cosmetic blemishes but it works flawlessly.” Link

“For sale is a vintage Roland SH-101 Synthesizer. I had it tested at a reputable music shop and it is in perfect working order, better than most of these that are floating around. You can see in the photos the awesome state that this thing is in, as well as notice that the battery compartment is free from any acid leakage which often occurs in these old instruments. It also comes with the modulation grip which alone is worth about a hundred bucks. Included also is a Boss AC adapter recommended for use with the SH-101. There isn’t a flaw on this thing and I suggest you jump on the opportunity to pick this up. My lack of cash is the sole reason I have to part with this sick synth. I’m sad but I’m sure it’ll find its way to a loving home.” Link

“You know what this beast is if you are looking at this auction. Like new condition with grip and original adapter(the adapter is 100v). Everything works 100%, no scratchy sliders and comes with a rare colour-green. I got this synth from Japan, and been using in my smoke free studio since. I forgot to take a picture of the adapter but is included on the auction.” Link

“Roland SH-101 analog synth. If you’re looking at this item then you probably know how great it is! A very rare synth in this day and age, especially as the SH-101’s edgy one-of-a-kind ripping tones become more and more desired in the music world. Synth works great, power adapter included. Don’t have manual or original box. Even the battery compartment is clean (never had a battery go acid-explosion in there).” Link

“If you are looking at this, you probably alread know about this, there is a whole Yahoo newsgroup dedicated to modding these babies. I had a friend try to do this for me, but it never worked right. It sounds really crazy and bad, not like the mod is supposed to. I have no clue what the problem is. Keyboard powers up and FM mod seems to work to inject wild noise into the sound. Please only buy this if you know how to fix it or are going to use it for parts. I am not sure if something went wrong in the install. All the parts for the mod and the same as described on the original website.” Link

Box shows areas of wear and tear. Manual is complete but shows some signs of yellowing with age.
As with all vintage electrical equipment we sell, this item is sold AS-IS “

This SHS-10R is in amazing condition, with barely any wear at all. The battery cover is still intact. The Yamaha shoulder strap is also included, as is the original box…..you don’t get to see those every day!

“I am selling a Pro One Sequential Circuits Analog Synthesizer. This vintage synth was given to me as a gift from my best friend’s dad. He bought it brand new and he didn’t use it as much as he thought he would so he put it back in its original packaging and put it in his basement for almost twenty years untouched! Honestly! I know nothing about synthesizers I only play the piano so when he gave it to me I threw away the original packaging (big mistake) and I just slid it underneath my bed. It’s been sitting there for a few years. I just looked it up and apparently it’s a BIG deal. I’m selling the pro one because I have a lot of college expenses adding up and I don’t have the funds to cover.” Link

“It’s in great shape. I don’t know if I have the instructions, I do somewhere, but not sure if I can find them. I’ll update this as the week progresses. I’ll probably have a few updates on this machine, and may even put up my own youtube so you know what you’re getting is in top shape. I don’t want to sell this, but I have too much stuff I don’t use anymore. ” Link

ARP, Odyssey @ 22 July 2009, “No Comments”

“Black face Arp Odyssey synthesizer. Model 2813 with low serial number. You know what it’s about if you’re looking at this listing. It’s in very good cosmetic condition. all keys, sliders, switches and knobs are present. The panel graphics are all there. There’s a tiny dent above the portamento slider that is barely visible. Also, there’s a very small paint chip on the right side of the panel near the VCA amplifier slider – barely visible as well. Those are the worst of the cosmetic issues but there may be other tiny scratches here and there as can be expected of an instrument that is 37 years old! Any cosmetic problems are minor and can’t be seen without looking closely. I’ve seen many listings for this instrument and I’ve never seen one that is this nice looking. The synth works but likely needs servicing. I’ve read good things about Wes Taggart at Analogics.org. The output volume seems low and the sliders are sticky. After sitting for a while, the keys get sticky but seems to go away after playing it. All of the keys work but there’s one white key that wiggles from side to side slightly. I’m only able to get sound out of the high level output. I’m not a synth expert so I’m not sure if all the controls work as they should. I’m able to get different sounds out of it but have no reference to go by. I’m selling it AS IS because this is such a rare, valuable and historical instrument that can’t be replaced!” Link

2600, ARP @ 22 July 2009, “No Comments”

“Vintage mid 70’s Arp 2600 in great shape. Although cosmetically average this particular Arp 2600 is a beast; has had a complete overhaul by Phil Cirocco of CMS. Has the added modules: filter and extra oscillator(more details on Phil’s website), power supply upgrade, envelope mods, osc sync(this was done prior to Phil’s work but was inspected /serviced by him), audio path upgrade etc etc. I have spent over 3K in rehab and upgrades and this Arp as Phil told me “rocks”. I agree and I hate to let it go but this economy is…Phil worked on this arp less than 2 years ago and is functioning as it should but with any vintage synth general maintenance is necessary every year or two so it is likely due to have a good internal cleaning/calibration. The 3620 keyboard’s electronics were serviced by Phil while the bushings were replaced less than three months ago by EARS in NYC so this keyboard is good to go.
Cosmetics: could be better, the panel has average wear to the silkscreen, not bad really. No missing slider caps or knobs. The tolex however has seen better days. Looks good from the front but someone(probably a progressive rock keyboardist) but rails on the edges of the casing which upon removal left many holes. Re-tolexing would be a good idea. I have some original corner protectors in a box that I’ll include, just never bothered to put them on. Also a previous owner etched his name and SS# and I think his driver’s license # on the keyboard and the panel.
Both lids are included but the synth lid still has the white edge protectors on them. Necessary cables included and some manuals.” Link

Casio, SK-8 @ 21 July 2009, “No Comments”

“Up for auction is this Casio SK-8 Sampling keyboard. This keyboard is in good working order and pretty nice cosmetic condition with fust a few minor scratches. There are a couple of scuffs on 1 corner. The ROM Pack door has a broken hinge on 1 side but can still be opened. Keyboard can be powered with batteries or 7.5 V DC adaptor. This keyboard has been used for at least 12+ hours since I acquired it with no problems. Included with the keyboard is 1 Casio ROM Pack (Home Melodies). Jacks include: Sampling 1/4″ mic, Sampling 1/8″ line in and 1/8″ output. Sorry, but no power adaptor included with this sale. They can be easily obtained at Radio Shack.” Link

Casio, SK-1 @ 21 July 2009, “No Comments”

“You are bidding on a pink Casio SK-1 synthisizer. This rare synth retains all of the classic Casio SK-1 functionality and chic in a style that screams “1985″ and “Miami Vice”. An ill-fated marketing ploy to make sampling keyboards more appealling to girls and/or boys with a distinctly ‘Crockett and Tubbs’ sense of fashion gave this synth limited appeal in the mid-80’s. However, these are are highly sought after today for their unique styling as well as their classic, crunchy lo-fi sonics.

I bought this keyboard for my daughter years ago in hopes that we’d form a cool, underground noise rock band someday. Unfortunately for me, she’d rather play ‘Mississippi Queen’ on the WII Rock Band. Alas…

This SK-1 is in complete working order; all functions operate as they should and the elusive battery door is intact (see picture). The low ‘D’ key has broken off and the low C# key is loose; however these are largely cosmetic flaws. If you push the grey, rubber sensor, it still triggers the notes properly. The keybed can be replaced with another set from another SK-1. Ready to be circuit bent or left stock; either way, it is bound to draw attention on the stage or in the studio.” Link

“Classic late 80’s polyphonic analogue 19″ rack mounted synth module. Tested and in good working order with a brand new internal backup battery. In reasonable cosmetic condition with some scratches on the top and to some of the lettering. Never been gigged.

OSCar @ 21 July 2009, “No Comments”

“OSCar – Best of British vintage monophonic/duophonic synthesizer

* ‘As new’ condition – 25th anniversary next year but one owner, never gigged, lightly-used, carefully stored
* Incredible sounds – fattest bass, wild leads, amazing special effects
* Instant response tactile knobs, performance wheels and buttons – no hard-to-use menus
* Fully-programmable with 36 User Patch Memories, arpeggiator and step sequencer
* Factory-fitted MIDI In/Out/Thru
* Serial number 0639 one of the last produced after February1985 with final firmware revision ‘M2′
* Original Operation Manual included*
* Original factory patch data cassette tape included
* Data CD on which I have included factory presets**, images, and interesting OSCar web addresses
* Stand apart from the crowd with unique sounds – and the look!

I have owned this OSCar since new and it is in excellent working order.

OSCar is now regarded as a classic in the synthesizer world. OSCar is a highly-versatile vintage workhorse, suited to many musical genres, but more recently has found particular use in Dance, House, and Electronica. It is an analogue-sound digitally-controlled synth using the classic subtractive but also additive synthesis models to produce its sounds. The OSCar is also a performer’s synth, direct and immediate access to its sounds makes playing an intuitive dream

If you’ve lusted after a vintage MiniMoog synth – don’t bother! The OSCar has absolutely stable oscillator tuning, massive programmable dual-oscillator sound with separate modulation LFO, and has been built to take on the road if needed.

This OSCar is 240V 50Hz (but can be internally set to 110V) and doesn’t require a separate power supply. The rechargeable internal memory battery may need to be replaced soon (but currently is working OK).

*Operating manual – the cover has come loose from the pages through age (but this is an easy fix), my name is stamped in small font on the front cover, and there is some highlighter on some of the text. Also, my name is written in ink in small discrete font on the OSCar’s lacquered wooden base (this can be easily sanded off by the new owner).

**Factory presets – currently not stored in memory. I have put around ten of my own sounds into memory and the rest have been left ‘blank’. You can load the factory sounds in if you want to, but I recommend that you make your own sounds and store them in memory, it’s very easy to do.

Note that if sounds are ‘lost’ from memory (through memory battery failure), it is possible on power-up (depending on the random position of the control knobs) to have no apparent sound, or at least a ‘nonsense’ sound, on key-press. This is not a fault and is resolved by setting the control knobs to appropriate positions and saving patches, or loading-in a set of patches – check the manual for details.” Link

Bit 1, Crumar @ 21 July 2009, “No Comments”

“Here’s a Unique DBE rack mount synthesizer control, just purchased by us from an estate. According to our research, this Made In Italy piece was named the Crumar Bit 1 overseas. It’s in good overall cosmetic condition- there are some scratches on the top, bottom, and sides of the case, and the front is in very good shape, with no major scratching or dings we could see. It plugs in and powers up as shown, and that is really all we can mention. It has two MIDI connections on back (input / output) as well. We do not have a keyboard, instructions, pedals, etc… just the unit and power cable as pictured. It is offered this “AS-IS”, with no refunds or exchanges- first for parts only, as of course we couldn’t test it.” Link

“Works perfectly and looks great. It is in its original vintage, unmodified state. Oscillators are tuned. I am the second owner. (I bought it a few years ago from a musician who said this was played with by Bowie and a few other rock luminaries can’t remember).” Link

“a rare find. bought in the late 80’s and it sounded great…although its a monophonic synth. unfortunatly someone stole the rack, which powers up the synth. i’ve heard that there is a comparable power supply from radio shack. in a nut shell, it worked before the power unit was stolen so i havent played it since the early 90’s. please buy at own risk since i can tell you it worked but i cant guarantee it since its been so long. this is my baby and i dont want to sell it but lost job and i need the money.online searches showed me that they are going for $2,000 to $1,700…but since i dont have the power supply, it will be a great find for someone at a good price. these are very hard to find so consider yourselves lucky..lol. this is the musical instrument that ushered in the electronic music era, the moog was the first proffesional grade synthesizer and was very popular with serious musicians like james brown, herbie hancock, and a few more musicians.” Link
