“The Realistic Concertmate 500 is a Casio SK-1 Sampling Keyboard exact clone made for sale in Radio Shack stores made by Casio in 1985. More info may be found here.

It has 32 small sized piano keys, four-note polyphony, with a sampling bit depth of 8 bit PCM and a sample rate of 9.38 kHz, a built-in microphone and line level input for sampling, and an internal speaker. It also features a small number of four-note polyphonic preset analog and digital instrument voices, and a simple additive voice.

All voices may be shaped by 13 preset envelopes, portamento and vibrato. It also includes a rudimentary sequence recorder, preset rhythms and chord accompaniment. The SK-1 was thus an unusually full-featured synth in the sub-$US100 home keyboard market of the time.

The SK-1 has been used by a few major recording artists for its simplicity and lo-fi sound. It became very popular in the late 1990s among the circuit bending crowd after the first guide to bending it was published by Reed Ghazala in Experimental Musical Instruments magazine, though the SK-1 was being modified as early as 1987 when Keyboard Magazine published an article on adding MIDI support[1]. The synthesizer was one of the first pieces of equipment that Autechre had when they began recording music. Musician and score composer Michael Andrews featured a circuit bent SK-1 heavily in the Me and You and Everyone We Know musical score. (Wikipedia)

CONDITION: Excellent working condition with ordinary play wear. No major dents, scuffs or cracks. All sliders are present as is the rear battery cover. Shipping weight estimated at 6lbs.” Link

“Here’s a vintage Casio CZ-1000 synth that was bought new in 1986, used at home for two years, and then put into storage till now. It’s in great shape, and is fully functional. This auction includes the custom CZ-1000 hard case, the AC power adapter, all of the manuals, and a RAM cartridge (memory for 64 patchs, in four banks of 16 patches each).” Link

Casio, CZ-101 @ 30 June 2009, “No Comments”

“The CZ-101 is a digital synth and although the programming is somewhat limited there are plenty of analog-like traits and sounds to interest most anybody. It has a good 8-stage envelope design and uses Phase Distortion (PD) synthesis which gives it some pretty great sounds. The sounds are very similar to the Yamaha DX synthesizers, and they’re much more affordable. PD is Casio’s own take on digital synthesis from the mid-eighties and is found in all of their CZ series. You basically modify digital waveforms (sine waves) to create various sounds. It can create wild new sounds, notably percussive sounds. Three sets of 8-stage envelope sections are used to modulate your sounds extensively. The first is used to modify the DCO pitches over time. Another 8-stage envelope section in the DCW is used to modify the Phase Angle over time (like filtering). Finally the DCA amplifier also has an 8-stage envelope to modify the volume of sounds over time. For further tweaking the CZ-101 employs some surprisingly analog effects. Four types of Vibrato make up a simple LFO-type section with triangle, square, ramp up or down waveforms as well as rate, depth and delay settings. Portamento adds that classic glide effect from one note to the next. Double up on the oscillators with 4-note polyphony. Built-in noise and ring modulation. It’s also MIDI equipped with 4 monophonic multitimbral parts.” Link

MG-1, Moog @ 29 June 2009, “No Comments”

“This auction is for a MOOG MG-1. The unit is in great shape, has all the keys, knobs, and slider knobs. Cosmetically very good. The only flaw is the power cord where it comes out, right on the back of the unit rubber has begun to crack and has started to frey. (upper left hand corner of photo you can see this) The serial number is 3649. It has spent the last few years in a closet but was used in a smoke free studio. Before I purchased he synth, it had been in a closet for years also. US shipping only. PayPal only. I usually send items with UPS but have used USPS also. Feel free to contact me for more information and photos. I’m going to miss this little guy!” Link

“The Moog Sonic Six is a 2-VCO duophonic synthesizer with a built-in speaker and a 4-octave, 49-note (C-C) keyboard. Each VCO can output sawtooth, triangle, and rectangle (pulse/square) waveforms as well as 2 “waveform generators.” A “quality” knob adjusts the width of the rectangular waveform. White or pink noise is also available. The Sonic Six can be set for 3 keyboard modes; high note priority, low note priority, or duophonic. The Sonic Six can also be set to an alternate tuning across the keyboard (different interval between octaves of the keyboard). Portamento rate is controlled by a knob. The envelope section features a basic envelope, with variable control for attack and decay and a switchable release (follows decay) and sustain. It had a single VCF, low-pass voltage controlled filter. Two multimode LFOs are available. Their speed is independently variable and can be controlled by the envelope.” Link

Moog, Source @ 29 June 2009, “No Comments”

“All right!
A Moog Source synthesizer!

This synth does not work.
It powers up and the display comes alive.
The displays will sometimes read a proper numerical value, and sometimes display nonsense.
Pressing a key does not produce sound.
After a moment of being powered up, the unit will produce some very strange garbled and freaky (even for a Moog) sounds.
The buttons and dial will affect the display settings (and the chaotic noise somewhat) , but the results are more inconsistent nonsense.
We are not sure what the specific nature of these problems are.
The touch panel membrane on these units are know to fail; the problem is most likely related to this and may extend to other aspects of the synth.
This instrument might prove to be useful only for parts.
It is for auction as-is due to these facts.

The synth is in good physical and structural condition.
The wooden side panels are unbroken showing some scuffing.
Keys are level and move well.
Control knobs and wheels move well with no shakiness.
Touch panel membrane is in good condition with no gouges or peeling.
Jacks are in good condition.
All control labeling is legible and the synth does not show and much color fading at all.

So there!
Bring your other one back to life!
Install it in the dashboard of your car for “wow” factor.
Don’t let it just sit there.” Link

“Used but in perfect working condition. I have always kept this in my studio. It is missing one white slider cap (see picture). Does not effect the performance or use.” Link

“Moog Multimoog Synthesizer, unit is in good cosmetic condition, I would give it a 7/10, it is missing 1 switch cap, and one of the bottom access covers
I tried all the knobs and switches and everything seems to be functioning the way it is supposed to.
The ribbon is showing a bit of wear, but still functions perfectly, and I found that you have to press the keys a little harder than normal to get the force sensor to work.
The keyboard does need re-calibrating and tuning, I did not bother doing it, because after shipping it would need it again anyway.
Comes with the power cord, and a copy of the service manual.” Link

“Auction is for a awesome rare Korg MS-01 cv pedal for use with the korg ms series though there are other synths out there that it could be used with. These are really cool and worth the price because there is nothing out there like it, you need powered cv control on a pedal to use with the ms synths and this is the best thing you can get for foot sweeps. You can control the filter cutoff with your foot to free up an extra hand to play the synth. This comes IN THE ORIGINAL BOX WITH MANUAL! It’s in great shape and works fine, one small scratch but overall excellent shape.” Link

Beetle, PR-7 @ 26 June 2009, “No Comments”

“Up for auction here is a Beetle PR-7 controller. This is a third party controller designed to operate like the front panel of a Yamaha DX7 FM synthesizer for the purpose of programming and editing patches in a Yamaha TX816 FM synth rack (it would work with any number of modules, e.g. TX216, TX416, etc.). It will work with, and without additional memory cartridges (if no cartridge is inserted, it will edit the internal memory of a TX816. Please see my separate auctions for a Yamaha TX816 rach, and a lot of three Symphony 128 DX7 cartridges. This auction is ONLY for the Beetle PR-7 controller, wall-wart power supply, and PR-7 manuals. I’m sorry I forgot to get a separate picture of the power supply, but it’s also in great condition.” Link

“If you’re a vintage synth collector/operator, and you’ve been looking for a Yamaha TX816 FM Synth rack in good condition, this may be the unit you’ve been waiting for!

This is definitely NOT one of those run-of-the-mill, beat-up, filthy, road-weary TX816′s that you often see, filled with dead batteries, and a power supply with bulging HV capacitors that are about to blow, or have already blown, taking the whole power supply down. No, this unit has been gently used in a smoke free, private studio. For most of its life, it was run with a librarian program, so the switches have not received a lot of wear and tear. It even has the original factory feet, and manuals.

It’s been in clean, dry storage for some time. In preparation for sale, it was thoroughly cleaned with all dust blown out. All 8 module batteries have just been replaced with new batteries. Interestingly enough, four of the original batteries were still working well, so this new set of batteries should last for many, many years. The power supply was disassembled, and the three large, critical higher voltage capacitors were replaced with new stock caps. Voltage was dialed in to exactly 5 volts on a 4 digit DVM. All connectors in the unit were treated with Caig De-oxit. Everything is working as it should. (Just as a note, I included a picture of the old parts that were removed and replaced, but I’ve already properly disposed of them, so they will not be shipped with the unit.)

(BTW, just as a public service note to everyone reading this listing that won’t end up being lucky enough to buy this unit ;) , if you do buy one of these at some point, MAKE SURE to get those large caps replaced. It’s a somewhat involved job, because a fair amount of disassembly needs to be done to get at them, but if they blow, they can really take down a lot of components in the power supply, and leave you with a really expensive repair bill.)

I took a number of pictures of the unit to show its condition. It actually looks better in real life than the pictures suggest. Taking pictures of a black box with the kind of finish this unit has is a challenge. I took the pictures, then spent 1+ hours wrapping, blocking, packing and banding the box. Then, I looked at the pictures on the computer and wished I could take them over again, but I wasn’t going to unpack and repack. You’ve got to draw the line somewhere. Anyway, it seemed like the light metering, looking at the black surface, cranked the exposure way up, and it makes dust and slight imperfections really stand out. There’s some very slight rack rash on the unit, but if you see it in real life, it looks great. I took one picture with the flash off, just to show that all the LED’s were working, and no modules were indicating any problems. Also, a number of years ago, I took the slide-out plastic card off the unit, because it always seemed prone to getting bent-up (plus, it was never needed when using a librarian program). The slightly bent-up card is included in one of the manuals (see picture).” Link

“UP FOR AUCTION IS MY RARE SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS PRO-ONE ANALOG MONSTER! IT HAS BEEN CARE FOR IN A SMOKE FREE STUDIO. I HAD A CUSTOM KENTON MIDI TO CV INTERFACE IN WHICH THEY ARE NO LONGER MADE NOR CAN YOU GET ON PERIOD IN THE WORLD! IT WAS INSTALLED 1 YEAR AGO BY A VERY SKILLED TECHNICIAN WHO WORKED AT DAVE SMITHS SHOP MANY YEARS AGO AND KNOWS THE GUTS OF THIS LITTLE BEAST INSTALLATION WAS SO INTENSE HE CHARGE ME MORE THAN EXPECTED PLUS ALONE THE CONVERTER WAS $500.00 MY ASKING PRICE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT I SPENT TO HAVE IT MODDED! HE ADDED A SPECIAL SWITCH NEAR THE PITCH AND MOD WHEELS THAT HAS 3 POSITIONS. THE TOP POSITION SENDS MIDI VELOCITY DATA TO THE FILTER FREQUENCY, THE MIDDLE POSITION IS OFF NORMAL USE, AND THE BOTTOM POSITION SENDS MIDI VELOCITY TO THE RESONANCE OF THE FILTER. THE SWITCH ON THE BACK IS FOR MIDI CONTROL FOR THE PRO-ONE, OR THE 37 NOTE KEYBOARD TO CONTROL THE PRO ONE( I NEVER USED THE KEYS SINCE I USE MY MIDI CONTROLLER AND CUBASE 5) SO I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING AN EXTERNAL MIDI CONTROLLER PLUGGED IN TO THE PRO ONE MIDI IN. DEFAULT IS MIDI CHANNEL ONE! IT ALSO COMES WITH ALL ORIGINAL MANUALS OF THE HARD TO INSTALL KENTON CONVERTER AND FULL INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSIGNING MIDI CONTROL SOURCES TO DESTINATIONS! IT LIKE HAVING A MOOG BUT WITH FULL MIDI CONTROL. THESE MIGHT BE THE ONLY PRO-ONE IN THE WORLD FOR AUCTIONS AND FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE YET TO SEE ON ON E-BAY FOR SALE! “Up for auction is a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak analog synthesizer. Unit is in fair condition, with numerous nicks and scratches on it as well as some rust. Recently when I powered it on some patches made no sound and a couple of them sounded a little distorted. If I had to guess, I would say it probably needs a new battery, which can be purchased from here: www.winecountrysequential.com/page17.html. I just don’t use this enough to fix it. All the contols, buttons, and midi functions do work on the patches that are working.” Link

“Up for sale is my Prophet 5 in pristine condition, almost museum quality. This unit has spent the last twenty some years in a flight case in a closet. I bought this from a synth collector last year. I’m selling this because I have bills that need to be paid. I’ve enjoyed playing this keyboard for the last year in my smoke free home studio. It’s never left the room, or the stand for that matter. Cosmetically, I would give this synth a 98 / 100. On the front view photo, there appear to be marks in the wood, they are minute specks of paint which can easily be removed, I just haven’t bothered to take the time to do it. All the knobs and buttons work like the day it was purchased, the keyboard chassis plays like new. All of the keys are perfectly straight and the action is like the day it came off the assembly line. It has no technical issues. It sounds perfect, as good as a Prophet 5 can sound. If you’re in the market for a Prophet 5 that is in truly great condition, this is the one to buy. The pictures don’t do it justice. I’m including the original owners manual, cassette tape from Sequential Circuits that has all the original Prophet 5 patches, and power cord. ” Link

“This is a really cool keyboard from the 1970s with an excellent pedigree. Prophet-5s have been used by such artists as Roxy Music, David Bowie, The Cars, Talking Heads, Gary Numan, Radiohead (specifically the song “Everything in its Right Place”) and on and on. They are known for their fantastic bass sounds, sci-fi noise effects and rich, warm tone. This one is in very good condition, except for one key, which does not play. I am selling it to pay back a loan I recently took out to buy a vehicle.

THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Please make sure you live close enough to Roanoke, Virginia to make this possible. ” Link

ARP, Odyssey @ 24 June 2009, “No Comments”

“For Auction: A Mark III black and orange ARP Odyssey. Cosmetically, the unit is still in very good shape. From the pictures you can see that there is some scratching. There are some areas along the VCO# 2 function block where the paint had faded off and some oxidation has taken place. 8 slider caps are missing. Everything internal is clean, no frayed wires or loose solder joints. Sliders are lubed and have full and easy range of motion. All key triggers are active and intact. Same can be said for the switches. As seen from the photo, the unit will power on and does produce sound, however I believe the VCO’s and particularly the filter need to be rebuilt. Its audio output is also very low. In its present state a person could use this unit as ambient noise box coupled with a nice delay or fuzz perhaps. The LFO and S & H sections seem to working fine. I have owned this particular synth for over 13 years and actually purchased it in this state with the intent of having it worked on. Obviously, at this point I do not think I am going to make that happen. I had looked at the possibility of bringing it to Phil Cirocco at CMS Synthesizers who specializes in rebuilding and upgrading ARP synths. If you have any further questions feel free to ask. I would prefer local pickup if possible.” Link

ARP, Quartet @ 24 June 2009, “No Comments”

“You are bidding on a Vintage Arp Quartet Analog Synthesizer Keyboard. This cool vintage keyboard from Arp shows some typical, normal cosmetic wear, but is still in great looking overall shape. What’s more important though, is that it’s in great working, and great sounding condition. Many of the controls are a bit on the scratchy side from normal oxidation, and the unit really needs a good internal cleaning with a good contact cleaner like Caig’s DeOxit, but it’s all working, and sounding like a vintage Arp should sound. ” Link

ARP, Solina @ 24 June 2009, “No Comments”

“I am going to be out of town from Thursday till Sunday while this auction is running. I will not be in the same state as the synthesizer but if you have questions send them on and I’ll answer them as soon as I can. The Auction ends next Monday so I will be home about 24 hours before the end of the auction.

I am not a musician, I bought some musical instruments at a Winston Salem, NC estate sale this past weekend. I am also listing a vintage Slingerland Cocktail Drum tonight. See my other auctions for this item. NOTE- I did take the items to a musician I know who checked these things out and said he thinks they are in very good condition.

This auction is for a Solina ARP String Ensemble SE-IV Synthesizer in working condition. When I say working condition it means we plugged in the power cord and it powered up. Then we plugged it into an amp using the Out 1 connection and tried all the keys as well as all the other buttons. All the keys worked and all the different buttons made changes to the sound produced. It appears to be in quite good condition. This is an approx. 35 or so year old vintage item. I have described it as well as I can. However I am selling it AS IS with NO RESERVE. If it need some adjustment or repair it is up to the buyer to take care of it.

I am not going to go into all the technical stuff, you can google the name and come up with pages and pages of that info, please do. However if you are interested in this item you already know what it is. There are 49 keys. It is 37.5″ long and 14″ front to back. It weighs 49 pounds without the case.

The case measures 41″ x 18″ X 11″ deep. The case weighs 31.6 pounds empty. This means the total shipping weight will be at least 81 pounds plus some packing material. If I can ship it on a Greuhound Bus us they will take it with no outside packing other that the case. If it goes freight or FedEx it will probably have to have an outer box.

The wood case is in good condition, see 10 photos of the items in this sale, Synth and case.

The only other thing I need to mention is that while this thing was stored for some time in the Anvil Case the inner foam lining the case turned to sticky dust. I cleaned it up as you can see in the photos. It may need some addition cleaning. Photo 3 shows the Modulation Switch (it works) and shows where there is a bit of paint loss on the plate where the switch is mounted. Basically this thing looks very good . The rubber feet in the bottom are fine.

The case is solid as a rock with all handles and the catches working great. This thing is like a safe. The case has been fairly well cleaned out and the remaining foam removed. There are still some sticky places and the case needs new foam. I will use some kind of padding in the case so that the instrument will travel safely but it will be temporary. ” Link

“Here’s a rare Arp Pro DGX in very good condition. It’s a monophonic analog synth with 30 electronically switchable presets and a 3 octave 37 note keyboard with aftertouch. The aftertouch can be routed to pitch, vibrato, volume, brilliance, growl and wow.

Fast action switches to the left of the keyboard select any combination of touch sensor effects. Sliders controlling Volume, Brilliance, Touch and Portamento are just below. There’s also a Repeat switch, and Vibrato speed controller and a Portamento on/off switch.

If you are wondering what it sounds like, think “Swingtown” by Steve Miller and some things from Tangerine Dream. This is a great recording synth and because of the big digital switches and large fast action tabs for touch controls, it would be a blast to play live.

This synth is in very good condition and is ready to go to work today. The keyboard is tight and responsive and everything appears to work as new. Due to shipping hazards, we sell all of these older pieces as is.

The boss has owned this keyboard for over 20 years, and in that time it has seen very little use, has never played a gig and has never been on the road. This is one of the finest examples of this great keyboard that you will ever see listed for sale. Own it now.” Link

2500, ARP @ 24 June 2009, “No Comments”

“In very good condition. Matrix working and sliders are moving smooth, just like you would expect. All modules have their Matrix slidercaps, only the blank
panels don’t. This system requires 110V so the buyer has to use a voltage converter, if the system stays in Europe or if it goes to Australia. Rest of
the world is 110V, so no voltage converter needed. This system has serial#75-023. So this one was built in the year 1972. The modules in this
system are: Dual VCO 1023, Osc 1004-T, Dual Noise/Random Voltage Generator 1016, Dual Envelope 1033, Multimode Filter 1047, Dual Envelope 1033, FiltAmp1006,Dual Envelope 1003a, ModAmp 1005, Multimode Filter 1047, Power Control 1002. The system has been tested and everything is working, except for the Noise module. This module is working but once pushed in the socket at the back, the system goes into short-circuit. Once the module is removed from the socket, the system works
again. So the Noise module is slightly faulty. And 1 dual envelope does do the manual gates but the rest is not functional,so this one needs to be serviced. These systems are so rare these days thatsome people say that only about 30-35 complete systems are fully working,as far
as known. I’m only selling this in 1 piece, as it would be a shame to split the system to sell the modules separately. If you look at the collage I made with 4
pictures you can see how good the system looks, despite being 37 years old.A single module can go up to $1500 USD per module and more.Certainly the Multimode Filters and the VCO’s.There is no keyboard but it can be played with a keyboard with cv/gate.Or a midi keyboard with midi to cv/gate converter.

Shippingcosts will not be cheap,so expect something around $800 USD.

Ask questions before placing a bid.” Link

“You are bidding on a classic Oberheim synthesizer produced in 1979* It is a 6 voice model and has Oct. 1980/81 dates printed on the voice cards. I bought this a few years ago with the intent of getting it fixed, but have decided to let it go to a new home. I purchased this synth along with a few others, and this one was not working when I bought it. It did power up but will blow the fuse every time upon powering on. This synth is being sold in non-working “as-is” condition/project or for parts. The body has some scratches and rust in places. All keys feels good, knobs feels smooth, and all buttons “click” when pressed but again no output from this one, as-is with no returns. Moog, Opus 3 @ 22 June 2009, “No Comments”

“f you are looking at this you already know that you want it. I won’t lie and say it’s got some indie rock history, i bought it from the original owner on craigslist about 4 years ago. It was a lady in her 60′s, and she had it on a quaint little table next to her piano, and told me her and her husband used to do piano with string accompaniments. I have used it on three tracks since then, i don’t pull it out too often, so I want to pass it on to someone who will use it more.

Everythings works excellent but (i make it an effort to be 100% truthful in my auctions to make for smooth transactions, and you can tell by my feedback), the pan controls on the stereo mix section are a little scratchy when you pan, but once you have it where you want it its great. (a little contact/lube spray should help it, i just haven’t done it).

The only other cosmetic thing is the graphic overlay is peeling up a little on the corners, you can glue it back down if that matters to you. You cansee it in a few pics. Pics are of the actual unit for auction. ” Link

“Up for auction is my beloved Realistic Moog. This unit works perfectly. I have owned it for about 10 years and it has lived in my smoke free studio. It is a real analogue synth and is very fun and easy to use. It has always worked just great. There are no cracks or stains. All knobs & slides are original & fully functional.” Link
